I don't like that Steve didn't read the results. I understand he didn't want Chris to commit a crime based on those results, but now someone who actually could've done this is walking free.
He’s walking free anyway because the parents didn’t go to the police. The lie detector test is not admissable in court so that would have no affect
The person to blame for the culprit walking free isn’t Steve. The person who would be at fault is the father. Just my opinion but I dnt think he thinks it isn't deserved necessarily...but what he's saying is...if u r the only person ur kid has to rely on..whether he thinks it's deserved or not, if u harm this person u will go to jail and those kids will be put in the foster care system and likely the abuse will continue there. U have to control ur emotions for the future of ur kids well being. Tho I dnt agree with him not giving the results. I think that was fucked up because he could have spared a person who molested a kid accountability on TV or on the flip side if the man was innocent he deserved to be vindicated on national TV.

I understand how upsetting this would be, but Steve knew exactly what the dad would've done if he was guilty & I don't blame Steve for a SECOND that he didn't want to be contributing to a potential murder (on top of that, a hate crime).
If the dad took this seriously in the beginning, he would've gotten the police involved from the jump.

Every other time they always mention “they’re going to jail” at some point in time. He was adamant about how he will never go to the police. I understand why he did what he did but frankly? They knew this before the show was filmed and should of decided against having them on, wasting all the time and money.
The only reason he does is because there's information to get and he doesn't know intell the results are in. Danie you should see from his perspective to get the truth he has to get everyone's story.

Watch the full episode, he read the results to the audience at the end. Steve is not at fault here. The dad is. If anyone touches my child or my child tells me anything, I would be involving the cops... This dad didn't do that once.

@@dawnhall5461 his results came back that he was telling the truth too - he didn't do it. But Steve still told the mother to involve authorities and have it investigated because then someone else is most likely inappropriately touching the child. This was 9 years ago.
Steve had to do this for legal reasons. He repeatedly gave the guy a chance to agree to call the police and come to his senses if he read the results and the result happens to be bad. Once that guy continued to say he'd never call the police and stuck with the fact that he will handle it himself, Steve and the whole show would have been liable for anything that would have happened after that. This was a peculiar scenario that played out in this particular episode.
Finally a comment that makes sense! I know a lot of people are shocked and upset and disgusted over this but Steve was in the right. Had these results come back saying he did molest the little girl I’d be willing to bet this guy would be dead within weeks maybe even days after finding out the results

The lie detector results alone will not hold up in court so there’s no point in reading them and having this father as a threat walking around. He didn't know my family, he just caught me walking home and grabbed me, brought me to his house where he rented a room from a lovely elderly couple. (Didn't meet them as they weren't home then) I escaped about 20 minutes later while it was happening and ran home as fast as I could, in my underwear and a Tshirt. I didn't tell anyone for months, I was so embarrassed and sick to my stomach. I thought he gave me a disease as I was vomiting all the time and my body felt really off. I eventually told my grandmother who was suffering from early dementia because I knew she would forget. It was good to tell someone. I told my mom shortly after and she was so calm and understanding why I didn't tell her, asked me where he lived. We grabbed my stepdad and we drove down the road to his house. My stepdad beat the dude up and the elderly couple called the police because they didn't know what was going on..my mom explained to them AND his live in girlfriend what happens..he was arrested. I got multiple threats on fb from his girlfriend for weeks after and I was so afraid to tell the court because I thought she would actually kill me. So I dropped the case and he was set free. I was only 15, now 12 years later I COMPLETELY regret that huge mistake I made. I should have out his ass in jail. Please do NOT stop fighting for your little boy. Don't let that monster walk free like how I did mine.
@@Justme0528 Based on what? It's so irresponsible to accuse someone of one of the worst crimes without proof. We've seen on this very show that people have been accused by children for whatever reason, but turned out to be innocent. The child may have really been molested, but are accusing the wrong person (that's a real phenomenon), or the child may have been coached by an adult (not necessarily the parents). Without the results, it's just completely unfair to just say that this man is guilty. Your response is exactly why Steve was irresponsible to not air the results.
I’m sure he gave them the results. They have the right to know what their results are I’m sure! Steve put on a good show and tried use this dude as an example. Steve should’ve split this into two shows. Bring the father out on the first show and read his results and the results of the woman. Then send him back home and bring out the other man and read his results and have officers at standby to arrest him. That way they don’t have to worry about the father getting the bad results.

I’ve made it a regular thing to watch Steve’s episodes, but this one by FAR was so fucked up.
As someone who went through a traumatic experience when I was a child, you completely just threw out the possibility of the dad and mom finding out the truth. Why not tell the results then give the man console and help him with whatever anger and hurt he holds?
Not even for the dad, but for the little girl, especially if people think she isn’t telling the truth. This really hit home and upset me that Steve didn’t help this father. He was angry and probably didn’t want to call the cops with the mindset that something wouldn’t get done right away. Of course he was gonna be upset and pissed and want to hurt someone that possibly hurt his daughter!

The problem with Lie detector tests though is, they are NOT 100% accurate, people that go on these kinds of shows, must sign a piece of paper expressing this fact, I don't know if you heard about the Jeremy Kyle show but they also had a show like this and every person that came to see them had to sign a piece of paper expressing that these tests aren't 100% accurate and that they know this before coming onto the show. So even if Steve read it out, you can't always gaurantee the right answer will come up 100% of the time. So imagine if the test had got it wrong and that man then attacked the other and commited a crime or worse killed him, steve would of been prosecuted and the show would of been cancelled, thats the only problem with shows like this while yes alot of the time they can give the right answer its not 100% proof and if they get it wrong it can ruin a persons life.

Only reason I’d disagree with that is because I don’t think Steve would let him walk away knowing he did it and knowing he’s most likely not going to call the police on himself… the only way I’d see that being the case is if he gave the results to the mother… but it’s sad for the daughter and sad for pookie if he’s innocent

I refuse to believe Steve didn't know those results. He told him without actually saying it "he did it and I am afraid of what you'll do if I read the results". Steve never acknowledges Pookie anymore after that and Pookie NEVER defends himself anymore while Steve talked about the calling the cops. Pookie was guilty and I would've had to know those answers.
This episode is proof that Steve doesn't do this to help people find answers, if he really cared he would provide the father with the proof he needs to prosecute instead of denying him it.
I completely agree with what Steve did. Dont get me wrong, if he did molest that little girl I would have no issue if the he got killed for it. With that said, like the previous commenter said Steve can't take on that liability. I think if the Dad had changed his tune and convinced Steve that he would go to the police Steve would've read the results.
Chris would've killed that guy, if Steve gave him the results and that wouldn't be good for the show's image, so that why Steve did what he did, it was a controversial decision but it was the right to do at that moment. As much Steve wanted to give him the results, he just couldn't bring him to do it...He could tell by his body language and the way answered the question that he was going to do something terrible to that guy and since he was a guest on the show so it would've fell back on Steve

Where was Steve for all those people? Everyone in the comments is confused as to why Steve didn't read the results or saying he was wrong. This is mainly a legal thing. Decades ago on another talk show, a gay man was on the show and another straight man that appeared on the show with him killed him when they got back to their town. And the talk show host even had to testify at the murder trial.
This is the worse ending to come to the show for the truth but then Steve decides not to share the results it's really a waste of time for everyone involved
His wife knows the results and if the child was in danger this would have been taken care of immediately. Also, Dan as a forensic analyst and has worked for the FBI he has to report anything like this as do therapist. Anything of putting a minor/child in danger must be reported.
