I'll be following you for sure.😊 I just started planning a route last night from Roland's route as well and taking some info from Mat Ryder. My goal is to get back to NY from La Push. Been to both beaches as well. Have a good safe trip.
I have researched the trail to Wyoming and was considering the Michelson Trail. Now I'll be sure to include it. If I were not part of my Mom's Alzheimer's care team to allow her to remain in her home I might have met you pedaling during your trip. Once I'm relieved of this love chore My plan for nights is an inverse of yours. I'll camp 5 nights and motel 2 on average per week. I'm planning to get from Chicago to Seattle by Amtrak and ride away from the train station. I had been planning to commence in La Push but now that I've seen how you made this connection to the ceremonial start I might copy your method. I might even shake it down for starters with a few days riding to Chicago Northwestward on the section between Chicago and Indianapolis. I've done some weeks long self supported rides and know that planning anything more than 2 days in advance can sell me short of spontaneous experiences (swimming, new friends, angelic unplanned hospitality by locals, serendipitous discovery of the perfect camping place, and weather events, etc. ) I'm 64, retired, fully outfitted for touring, and inspired to see your 95 count playlist. You are my next binge watch. Stay Awesome Daniel.
Just a few suggestions based on your comments. 1.The biking from Spearfish to the Michelson was tough considering I then added on 50 miles of the Michelson with an upward grade. Should have stayed overnight at the trailhead. I shipped the bike to Sequem and my gear to Forks that was sub optimal should have shipped both to Port Angeles so Bike and gear always together. You will need to consider how to haul your bags when on the busses since you wont be able to leave them on the bike. 3. I ended up booking all hotels once it got hot but do not have a lot of camping experience.
Dan made it to Waterville Wa! We have the heighest altitude for an incorporated town/city in Washington, 2800 ft. The next stint is through the Moses Coulee that was carved out by the Great Montana flood during the ice age. Getting to Coulee City is an achievement on its own. A deep coulee that seems impossible to desent at blazing speed to only come upon a long and steep climb. Check Joe Rogan podcast about this area. Waterville Wa wishes Dan the best. I believe that the issue is fixed. When selecting the play list there was an option to play oldest to newest. Just not certain if tgat effects everyone’s experience or just mine. Let me know if it worked for you too. Thx for letting me know!

Dan, Your Playlist auto-plays chronologically from newest to oldest. I would prefer to see the ride as it transpired.
