Why oh why would anyone in those days ever want to be in a Royal court, is beyond me. Especially that maniac. Id rather have lived on a Scottish island than be in London
I read in history books that when some of the nobles were summoned to Henry's court to attend him they feigned illness and even self harm to avoid going.
Absolutely. As a Yorkist, Margaret had more right to The English Throne than this bunch of Welsh thugs! Thank you for this. 👍 Rest In Peace Margaret 💐 🏴
@Alan-gh8X I was christened Anglican at 7 days old, and I've been an Agnostic since age 11. Why on earth would someone who knows the history of the founding of the Church of England want anything to do with it? I'll visit the church 3 times, christening, marriage and funeral...but only for family tradition.
With the exception of Anne Boleyn there doesn't seem to be any instances where the one wielding the instrument did a clean job of it- at least when it came to the women that incurred Henry's wrath or that of Edward, Mary or Elizabeth.

That's certainly how it was in those days, I heard a new fact that Henry 8th ,during his reign , had over 50,000 executed!! Which averages 4 per day!!!! 🤔 Obviously he was paranoid and alot of Europe wanted him dead for mainly religious reasons 🤔, the Catholic church ⛪️ especially wanted England etc to be Catholic , torrid times, plus possible invasions......................😢 ❤❤😊

Poor woman. All that for being related to someone the king didn't like.

The promise of riches and wealth beyond measure, provided you do what your told and don’t have any moral scruples.

Ask the Biden family
Those Scottish isles are idyllic!!!

I'm a Welsh thuglet.
Right on!
HenryV111 was an insane monster rivalling Vlad the Impaler.
Probably all related to Ghensis Khan and Henery looks like him.
With a cousin like this, who needs enemies?
And this man started the Church of England
The Catholic Church was no better - it’s always been about power and domination.
And your point.

Poor Margaret! Her son Reginald is much to blame for this!😢😢😢
No, the blame lay with Henry.
Actually, Mary was the right heir and Elizabeth could be illegitmate.

Anne Boleyn was decapitated with a sword, not an axe. (I’ve just finished watching Wolf Hall 😳)

@@J.MacInnes I did wonder about that. Thanks for the extra info.
And Thomas Cromwell too!😢
More than one occasion the executioner was intoxicated.😮@J.MacInnes
Henry VIII was a total monster.
What about Anne Ashkew (pronounced Ash-que) not sure how last name spelled. She was 72 when beheaded. HORRIBLE death!
Anne Askew was burned not beheaded. She was also horribly tortured on the rack resulting in dislocation of all her limbs .Poor woman.
Wasn’t she the last Plantagenet? I’m trying to think,
Yes, she was.
Yes I think she was
The two Henrys made a pretty clean sweep of the Plantagenet family.

I read the number was 70,000!!! It was a splendid amount of heads indeed!!!
Nice to see all of the historical experts here offering their pearls of wisdom. Oh joy!
very low quality audio ! great content but needs to be 5db louder with sinister background music !!
Turn the volume up if you can't hear. Feel play your own music if you need that to make it interesting.
Death comes to us all. But I insist upon keeping me head on me shoulders then!!!
Ah yeah, the good old times.
Meanwhile yesterday in the news ?.......... 🙏.

The st leger manners family did and were friends with the king

Oops thought she was a
Pole dancer.
You're not funny.
Just ignorant!
Even worse he was her cousin
They were actually cousins, his grandfather Edward IV being her father's brother, Lionel the Duke of Clarence.
George, not Lionel.
@TihetrisWeathersby. A man can't be an aunt.
She was Henry VIII’s second cousin. The kings mother Elizabeth York was her first cousin.
Listening to this and the paranoid Royals make you wonder about the death of Princess Diana and the Muslim boyfriend
Who's paranoid?
Give it a break will you!🙄🙄
