The trick might be to use a multiplier if you've gone 20-30 drops without getting a 500. Twice, I've gotten 500 with a 5x multiplier (2500 coins) by activating my multiplier and doing a drop after going almost 30 drops without getting a high reward. Could have been complete luck though! Other peoples mileage may vary, in total I'm at 8190 coins for dropping 67 marbles (that includes the 1000 coins from the 60 drop reward), 5 rewards unlocked on the right, 1.5 on left. Curious where other people are at... Had a good laugh at 07:24 when the marble avoided EVERYTHING to go to 10! I feel your pain brother!
Problem with going outside is that you almost always miss the rewards in the Jolly Marble, I get the best results with going left and right of middle. Good balance between hitting rewards and a decent amount of 130 and 70 mixed in. Bit you will always get a lot of 10 as well
I think that in this type of games the percentage of getting 500s is quite similar no matter where you shoot from. So I've been focusing on trying to get better magic ring rewards. I´m trying second hole as I feel it´s better to focus on one side and it may be a coincidence but at this moment the hit-count is 51-0.

Don’t do first and last one do only the second and forth one you will get more points with that i withdraw 3 mithril means i made 3000 points and its good if you do with 5x or 10x but i suggest do with 5x its even better
