EGGNT is great for seeing the structure of the passage. Which is great for exegetical preaching, as it lets you follow the flow of the passage. I keep these on Kindle, because then they're a portable Greek resource for whenever I'm studying. Whereas at my desk, I'm probably reaching for the Baker Series first.
I do not know Greek or Hebrew. But do like the recommendation of the Multiview Books. Sometimes we need to understand what someone else is saying to point out flaws in their beliefs. Things to think and ponder . For no one has all the right answers. We are every seeking. For each of us is Poor in Spirit. Because the more we learn the more we understand we do not know. The more we need to study.
🍔 just starting to use EGGNT & Baylor now but I have made great use of all the other series. I have an audible subscription, but did not know that the Oxford very short introductions were provided on there of charge so I will be pursuing that thanks.
🍔Thank you for introducing me to the Spectrum Multiview Series! I own it in Logos, but had no idea it existed, let alone that I had acquired it - presumably in some huge package. I'm reading Faith and Reason now.
Ed Sanders' short OUP guide on St Paul is excellent because it is based on his two massive books which are cornerstones on the relationshiip between St Paul and Judaism.
Many a saint never knew Greek or Hebrew and a great deal could not even read. Scholarly endeavors are not a means of salvation, nor do they work towards the salvation of others. Always make sure that your goal for attaining more knowledge is so that you can better evangelize. There are many a Bible scholar right now burning in eternal damnation. There’s nothing wrong with learning a lot about the Bible, but you always have to do it for the right reason which is for the glory of God Not simply as an intellectual pursuit
Burger... in addition, I've found the Bible Speaks Today Theme Series good. I've also read one of Crossway's Short Studies in Biblical Theology; it was good but not amazing.
People who are advanced enough to navigate the first two series already know them. Otherwise, these are largely a waste of money, and may even prove discouraging for people who don't already have some background in Greek.
Thanks for the great recommendations brother! God bless!

The Baker series is a great commentary series.

The Multiview and Contrast series are both great for getting a representative view of the interpretive spectrum.
🍔 love seeing someone in New Zealand tackling this!
I love these indications! Go on! Thank you so much!

What do you think of the Wuest 4 volume set? Thanks for the video!
I can't say I've used it. I'll take a look at it. Thanks!

Would you recommend the Life Application Study Bible?
I haven't really looked into it. I'll take a look. Thanks!
It would take a lifetime to read all of these books 😮
Yes, but we'd benefit greatly along the way 😎

PS take this as a burger emoji, life's too short. What do you think of the New International Greek Testament Commentaries?
Excellent. My “go to” for Mark (RTFrance) but also Baker Exegetical (Robert Stein for Mark). Daryl Bock always a good read as well.
I generally really like this series. It is probably in my top 5 Exegetical commentary go to's
🍔 saved books for later on logos👍
