PHEW that was quite the review video. I know I covered a lot of information but if I missed anything, don't hesitate to drop a comment below to ask. I'm here to help! Again, to buy the Travel tripod CF you can head to >> goingawesomeplaces.com/pd-travel-tripod. Thank you for all of your support!
Hello. At 4:43. You don't need the tool to put it upsite down . You can unlock the hook and then put it the other way around.
Great in-depth review! Thank you for putting this together.
Amazing review , that’s for the detailed features explanation
Thanks for stopping by!
The obvious answer for horizontal-vertical changes is an L-bracket. Yes, if you're serious about landscape photography get an L-bracket. If you're not serious about landscape photography, get an L-bracket. There is no perfect tripod of course, all are compromises for weight/price. Thanks for the review!
Wow awesome insane detailed review! 😱😱😱
Thanks!! Hope you found it helpful!
Can't afford. Maybe one day, I'll carry it in my Lambo's front trunk. 🤣
The iPhone 14 Pro Max is a big phone, and it's width is 3.05". You'd need a pretty thick case to be a total of 0.75" on both sides. By the way, this was an awesome video, very very well thought out and prepared and complete. I learned a lot and the links were also quite helpful. That earned a subscription.
Very informative!
Best PDTT review. Thanks.
Aw thanks for saying that 🙏
Great review, very informative. I appreciate the stability tests that you did, especially the wind test, but it seems to me that what is really being tested there is the "conductivity" if you will of vibrations through the tripod into the ballhead... but what I'm really more interested in is how well it dampens vibrations of the camera itself, such as when I'm using a heavy long lens and pressing the shutter button on a 2sec timer
really great informations ! I ordered it ..
Sweet I’m glad this video helped!
Great review! I’m very interested the the peak design. 😁👌
Yes definitely check them out. It’s the only tripod I use right now!
Thanks for this detailed video, very educational! By any chance, have you had experience on Ulanzi? I am not so sure Ulanzi's build quality. Thank you.
Unfortunately we don’t have experience with the Ulanzi tripod. We are going to be testing the new Benro Theta when it comes out though!
@@GoingAwesomePlaces Looking forward to watching your testing of Theta! Thank you!
Thanks for the presentation. Well done,
Great review! I like all your tests, but it got me thinking about the vibration. I'm curious if you had a similar weight suspended from the center column, how would both tripods fair during, say your taping test. Again, great job!
Super thorough review! If one would use the adaptor for another ball head scenario, is there a ball head, with panning feature, that you'd recommend?
I haven’t found a good one yet. For photography the stock ball head has been ok but I do find myself getting confused when needing to do something quick. It works but still takes time to get used to and yes still no panning. If you find a good one let me know!
Also, stability not a problem wherever doing a landscape photo you should always use a 2 or 5 seconds delay on shutter release, to allow for any vibration to go away.
Great video by the way 👏
Hello, if you were to have the pd on the side of a 30L everyday backpack, would it fit under an airplane seat?
San Francisco FTW 👏🏻🙌🏻
LOVE SF!
How can I do top down shots with the Peak Design Tripod?
Just pull the center column out and invert it under the tripod.
Flyin Ryan Productions In this scenarios I would literally have to put the tripod on top of what I’m unboxing.
jaymeez yeah In that case you would want another tripod. I have a k&f concepts that has another arm that extends out so I can position it over a table.
Flyin Ryan Productions I think you are right. I just really wanted to make it work with PD because for travel this tripod is so small and convenient. Oh well...
Just add a horizontal arm...not really rocket science guys😂
Is the leg releases are plastic or metal?
Great question - the leg releases are metal actually. I've been quite confident in using them and haven't had any fears of them snapping off. They can also be tightened individually as well if you need to which makes it super serviceable.
@@GoingAwesomePlaces Thanks a lot!
30 $ vs 800$ tripod. Same weight. 27 times price difference. Expected to be 27 times more stable, more usable?
If for both of them to attach extra weight, like a bag 🎒, to be stable on the wind.
I think u can use it as selfie stick using the center column with ball head only. Remove it from the tripod itself haha
the only meaningful stability test is to take a shot in real life situation, just saying
Neither tripod is suitable for long exposures tbh. They just aren’t stiff enough
