The first time I heard this song I was so happy in my life. I had my friends and no problems. But a few months later, listening to the song for the umpteenth time, I realized how alone I was. In the end, all my friends abandoned me and I lost all confidence in myself. I feel so alone and empty. I'm still happy that my family and I are in good health but God let me take a breathe.

this song came out when my boyfriend at the time wasn't talking to me/trying to ghost me for no reason, i remember feeling so defeated and then hearing this it felt like a sign. we ended things a few days later and that same day, a few hours later i met the literal man of my dreams. i love this song, reminds me of such a bittersweet time in my life

that line hits different because i have been struggling with my identity for a long time. i know as a christian that i find my identity in christ. but sometimes it feels like the other parts of me are always changing. in just this year alone i went from questioning literally everything about myself to this february doing a complete 180 in my faith. now i am struggling with changing my identity and my whole life. but can i? how do i reverse a whole two and a half years of a completely different person? but i do know it is possible. but i still don't know who i am as a person and i know things will never stop changing.
but this song gives me hope. i can reverse the past and myself. i can be truly free in my faith and in my friendships. i can be myself. because if one man can go from boy band hetero normative bad boy to a glorified indie pop artist who isn't afraid to explore is feminine side and be totally accepted with open arms i know i can too! and so can you! if you are struggling with your identity as you grow up regardless of your background, religion, past, etc. keep this song as a reminder. you can do it! you will find your confidence and friends who you can be fully yourself with! do not worry! you've got this!
