Jean Grae is one of my all time favourite rappers. She is intelligent and smart enough to know that respect comes from how good you are at your craft; and not how many records you can sell.
Unfortunately too many people (mainly the youth) have been conditioned to respect wealth and materialism; or think that someone is great because they have money.
Me being lyrically obsessed is putting it mildly. Her personality is Beast on some college professor type noise and its amazing!!! I Love you Jean Grae!!!

I am so glad she paces herself and her work when putting out a new single. I wish more artist did that because it is hard to keep up with the amount of music some of our fav artist put out. I am too slow of a listener when getting to know one single, and one album; I fall behind with a lot of the new music coming out right now for this reason. I think she is teaching us a lot here, I love her. And she is right when she mentions people have the attention span of gnats. We are all guilty of it.

I always believed that endless shows and tours where artist repeat themselves to the point where the public is programmed by the music meant "death" to the the artist. Part of being a true artist, creator, innovator lies in the artist ability to be original, authentic. How can that be if every show is the same. The fact that she believes this makes me want to see her live that much more. Wow!
