Much love and respect for these men of God. Dr. White's books were instrumental means God used to bring me out of the LDS church. I was Mormon for 20 years, saved by God in 2016 through faith in the true and living Jesus Christ. He is risen!!

Both of those men know what they are talking about, and they will tell the LDS people what their church won't tell them. They will be respectful and give them the time to take in what they are saying. Kudos to them!

Glen Short Which is false doctrine? By faith alone in Jesus alone? The word of God as our final authority? By the grace of God alone?

Soli Deo Gloria Calvinists and Armenians are both followers of the true Christ, and we will see each other in heaven. The predestination argument is not a salvation breaker.

My in-laws are Mormons, my husband grew up in it & says he doesn't believe it. But when I tell him about what Joseph Smith said about becoming a god he says that's not what his parent believe.i appreciate these videos they give me reference on how to share the True Gospel & let them see the REAL CHRIST.

Here's a perfect example of how messed up Mormon doctrines are. Which one of your doctrines is speaking the Truth? Anyone can pick up a copy of the BofM, D&C, and of course most Christians have the Bible and view the many contradictions in your "fullness of the gospels":
Does God dwell in man's heart?
BoM, Alma 34:36 says that "the Lord" dwells in the hearts of the righteous.
      And:
D&C 130:3 says that the "idea that the Father and the Son dwell in a man's heart" is false. (D&C 130:22 says that it is the Holy Ghost that "dwell[s] in us.")
      BUT:
The Bible says in Ephesians 3:17 "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,"
Cognitive dissonance has never been so whimsical!

cdowis My dear Sir, Mormanism is also wrong, as it does not line up with scripture..any added doctrine to the Bible is wrong..everything should be tested against scripture..Calvanism doesnt teach righteousness , it teaches self righteousness, this is why Jeff wont reply..it is through self pride that even he himself fails to recognise..he is totally right about Mormonism and Jehovas wittness , but is hypocritical due to his Calvanism..I will pray for him, and for you that you may abolish the doctrine and follow the quoted scripture with the mind of Christ , through the Holy Spirit.God Bless

I am always so interested when you talk about Walter Martin. I was born again on January 23, 1979. My first big Christian celebration was Easter of that year and I was so excited that my first holiday as a Christian would be the Resurrection! Well, my friend and I had the amazing opportunity to go see Walter Martin speak on that early Easter morning! As a brand new baby Christian, there was much I didn't understand, but it was still such a thrill to listen to him. I never forgot it.

    • @AnthonySanchez2140
      @AnthonySanchez2140 6 років тому

Robert Melcher Hey bro I would be happy to and I think it’s good that your watching Jeff’s videos and what I mean by true Jesus is that we all use the word Jesus but mean different things and I think watching these videos will help you to show the inconsistencies in other religions view about Jesus Christ

    • @robertmelcher904
      @robertmelcher904 6 років тому

Anthony Sanchez, I'm so happy to hear from you!! And I'm grateful for your interest in the spiritual welfare of the Saints!! I can see that you really love your neighbor like the Saviour taught us we should!! That speaks volumes of your willingness to follow Christ's teachings.
That is something that the Saints and our Protestant/ Evangelicals brothers have in common.
Which is why the Saints spend a lot of time here on these public forums debating with critics of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
IMHO,all church denominations claim to know what needs to be done in order for people to obtain eternal life in the kingdom of God.
However, they all have different beliefs in regards to what needs to be done in order for mankind to obtain salvation.
Having said that I invite you to refute the following syllogism titled ARE EVANGELICALS SAVED?
      1) Christ taught that baptism is a requirement for salvation [ Mark 16:16 ]
      2) Christ also taught that there are two types of baptisms: baptism from heaven and baptism from men [ Luke 20:4 ]
      3) Evangelicals are not saved, because they can't prove from the Bible that their baptisms are from heaven
Anthony Sanchez, please address the above syllogism.
If said logical argument is based on erroneous premises, please point them out.
I sincerely hope that if I'm wrong you can prove it,so I can learn something that can lead me to salvation in the kingdom of God.
And if your church's teachings are erroneous I hope that you will have the courage to acknowledge that, and learn more about the true doctrine of the LDS Church.

We Latter-day Saints are not in a false system. It is you man-made churches that are in a false system. The Savior does not recognize your false churches. He voiced that the day He and Our Heavenly Father personally appeared to 14-year-old Joseph Smith. I’m so grateful for Joseph Smith, the Prophet of the Restoration.

The first time I heard about Dr White was in a documentary that I watched in Amazon Prime called “ The tares and the wheat. I confess that I didn’t understand what he was trying to explain because of his impecable way of putting things together and my English was not that good at that time. After a period of time , I became intrigue about the deity of Christ and started to listen watch some doctrine videos and “ the forgotten trinity “ presented by dr. James was one of the topic that intrigued me . So I bought his book and kindle edition ( both ). I’m watching his videos and I confess his personality is fascinating to me and his love for our Lord and the Trinity amazes me. I remember one time he answered a man in a video about transgender ism , :” sir , I don’t know what Jesus you are talking about. My Jesus raised from the dead .......:)))))))

You can tell right now where you will spend eternity.
Joseph Smith said your Mormon god was once a man.
This is called blasphemy. Why do you worship a created being? Why not worship the Creator?
President Hinckley said you had another Jesus.
"In bearing testimony of Jesus Christ, President Hinckley spoke of those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints 'do not believe in the traditional Christ.' 'No, I don't. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak. For the Christ of whom I speak has been revealed in this the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times. He together with His Father, appeared to the boy Joseph Smith in the year 1820, and when Joseph left the grove that day, he knew more of the nature of God than all the learned ministers of the gospel of the ages.'" (LDS Church News Week ending June 20, 1998, p. 7).
There is no salvation in any church.
A false God and a false Jesus equal a false salvation.

      tim spangler,
Absolutely. I've encountered a few KJVO people on the web and some of them are almost cultish in their behaviour. It's really quite alarming and sad. They know next to nothing about textual criticism and the historical development of the canon. I'm English and I love the KJV for it's majestic language and historical significance, but I don't idolize it nor look down upon those who prefer other translations. Unless you prefer the Message version. In that case all bets are off :P

    • @Gaminglord123
      @Gaminglord123 6 років тому

      tim spangler,
You are absolutely right. There is a particular KJVO UA-camr whom you might be familiar with if you're often engaging with these arguments, who openly rejects the doctrine of the Trinity and claims Jesus is the Father. Utter and blatant heresy. He defends this by appealing to the KJV and "biblical language of the Godhead" and how he "won't use the Greek and Hebrew to correct the King James." His idolatry towards the translation is absurd and sickening, and what makes it worse is that people follow and agree with him. His videos get thousands of views and an overall good reception.

I went to their church a few days ago but I don't understand the book of Mormon cause how am I supposed to understand a man saying he talked to God after the Bible was written. I don't want to believe in a false prophet. What you say I understand IV always been taught by the Jehovah's witnesses and told if I didn't become a Jehovah's witness I wouldn't make it recently I stopped studying with them cause them telling me I couldn't celebrate my daughter's birthday was the end of me dealing with the witnesses.

Whether you like the term or not what you are doing is "selling" The Gospel. That's fine and necessary. However, modern sales technique has changed. It has had to. I think your approach needs to be updated as well if you want to reach the new subjective Mormons.

and another thing the man with the tattoos and the stretched ear rings, i have tattoos myself but i'm ashamed of my past life and would never glorify my tattoos and I try to cover them up. I would never get more tattoos. I hate my past sin. By him still having the stretch earrings in is him saying he doesn't care and still will glorify his choice. He needs some serious praying and shouldn't be preaching to anyone until he understands fully why he could do more harm than good go in peace in the name of Jesus Christ

God is not 3 eternal distinct persons. He is One spirit that reveals/manifest himself as father in creation, son in redemption, and holy spirit in regeneration not as 3 distinct persons. God is a spirit. We are unable to see God unless he manifest himself to us. 1 timothy 3:16 God is manifested in flesh as Who? in the man Christ Jesus, Col. 1:15-he is the image of the invisible God. Thomas says to Jesus in John 20:28 My Lord and My God. Col 2:9 in him dwells ALL the fullness of the Godhead bodily. He is not part of the Godhead. He is the Godhead revealed in flesh as Jesus Christ. I, even I, am the LORD( Jehovah/Yahweh), and apart from me there is no savior Isaiah 43:11. Acts 4:12 salvation is found in JESUS(Yeshua- means Jehovah/Yahweh is salvation or Jehovah/Yahweh has become salvation). He is not some 2nd person, he is the Almighty revealed in the flesh as Fully man and fully God who sacrificed himself in flesh as perfect humanity for me and you. We are to believe and accept God for who he is and obey the gospel. We obey the gospel by Acts 2:38. For more info on how God revealed himself to us youtube pastor David Bernard.

    Why KJV...
When you take out a entire verse from the bible and that verse is witnessing that Jesus Christ is the son of God? Acts 8:37 removed completely.
Isaiah 14:12 the new bibles remove Lucifer from the text and replaced it with the Morning Star... Jesus Christ is the Morning Star... I can spend the next 5hrs exposing your Bibles... Sorry, some of us want the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Satan mixes truth with lies. Reading these newer bibles make you vulnerable.

Jason Babilonia I've invited Jeff Durbin to discuss the syllogism titled Christ's Teachings Debunk Anti Mormonism, and after two years, he still has decided not to accept my invitation.
Will you please write to both Jeff Durbin and Dr James White and asked them to contact me, so we can discuss said logical argument, either here on this public forum or through email?
Refusing to accept my invitation is a clear sign that Jeff Durbin has doubts about his ability to refute that logical argument.
That doubt is causing cognitive dissonance in his readers.
That cognitive dissonance will create doubt in the minds of his readers, and in the millions of Protestants/Evangelicals who like you, feel a great deal of admiration towards Jeff Durbin and Dr White.
That doubt, will lead them to enlightenment, that enlightenment will eventually lead millions of Protestants and Evangelicals to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Now, the only reason why Jeff refuses to accept my invitation,is that he is AFRAID that he won't be able to debunk the syllogism.
His FEAR proves that he is not convinced that the LDS Church is false.
So why should his readers believe that which Jeff preaches, but does not believe in?

I really enjoyed this video, AND both men were certainly doing and saying what they believe to be true. However, as an agnostic investigator of all philosophies of religion, I find these debates too assuming. For example, both debaters assume there is a God / gods to begin with. Presupposition is supposing that there is a God to begin with.
Would you research a mechanic or a doctor or a product at the store BEFORE spending your money? Of course you would. Why do any less when it comes to devoting your whole soul to a religion? Why do so many people simply offer unconditional obedience and faith to a religion without any objective, honest research or study? Why do we give religion a pass which we would NEVER give a dentist, mechanic, lawyer, or salesman?
How do people in religions even "know" all the details of salvation? They each project their opinions onto the biblical passages, and it all seems too subjective to me. Who is interpreting the Bible correctly?
Why quote the Bible at all? How do we "KNOW" that The Bible written by Jews who lived thousands of years ago was even inspired or "revealed" by God / the gods? Both sides claim certainty through very dogmatic and binary thinking.
Too many claims of "knowledge" in these debates without ANY foundational examples of evidence that God / the gods exist, what God's nature is, what God / the gods want of or from humans (are animals included?), and whether God / the gods has even communicated to Moses, Abraham, Joseph Smith, or any religious leader for that matter.
I am agnostic because I do NOT know or claim to have certain "knowledge" on such imaginary orders and claims. I do not see any evidence to begin to think about joining either religion. I haven't even discussed the bizarre doctrines: why was Jesus a "sacrifice" for "sins"? Why can't God simply forgive us directly? Why is blood (magic?) required for us to be "forgiven"? SOOOOooooo many questions. But, alas, I do not have the time or interest in taking this any further today. STAY CURIOUS, my friends. Be careful who you choose to believe without any evidence to support so many extraordinary claims! Before you spend your whole life and soul in a religion which is just a man-made game, do your best research!
Use your mind and reasoning. Do either of these religions or versions of "Christianity" even make sense to begin with? Be careful who you pledge allegiance to with your time and effort and money. Religions want your money, time, energy, and life - no less. BE CAREFUL! Before you give 10% of your income and your weekends to a group based on imaginary orders, ask tough questions. Don't accept gas-lighting or shame games. Don't just go by "feelings". I hope you have at least read and considered my comment today. Thanks!

All I can say is you clearly haven't done the research yourself. I had the same opinion, and I did the research on arguments from facts, science, internal consistency, history, philosophy, epistemology, and more and found it all to be obviously true. Not only that but people claiming you can't know, or that it's false were the ones with blatant hypocrisy that takes very little effort to discover. Not to mention I am highly skeptical of feelings and don't believe what I do because of anything it may make me feel.
Research and think critically indeed, and you will find the Bible to be true, why people run into confusions that make it seem false without further knowledge of what's going on in the confusion, and the majority 9f skeptical criticism comes directly from lazy half-baked argumentation that you will answer a million times over in your own genuine consideration of why it is or couldn't be true.

@@vibeauxssxuaebiv3489 You claim to have "found it all to be obviously true" AND you know (?) "the Bible to be true". I don't see what is so obviously true about having an opinion and dogma as people like you do. How do you know with such certainty?
I have no problem with those who say they have faith, and defining faith as a hope (the biblical definition in Hebrews 11:1, etc.). But how do you "know" such unprovable things? If you claim the Bible makes you happy, fine. But to make claims of certainty?
It is alright to just admit that it is your opinion, but to state it as fact is intellectually dishonest. There are so many religions all claiming to know that their version of God, scripture, and rituals are TRUE. But none of them can "prove" it with "obvious" or observable justification.
C'mon. Be more humble and investigative.

    min 24 "become a God"
Well, let’s see what the Bible tells us
John 17 [22] And **the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, EVEN AS we are one**
[23] I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
Rev 3 [21] To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Rom 8 [17] And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and **joint-heirs with Christ** if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
This is not polytheism, but we become joint-heirs with Christ.

Mormons believe the Bible? President Hinckley said you have a different Jesus.
Joseph Smith said your god was once a man.
I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see. … It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the character of God and to know...that he was once a man like us.... (“King Follett Discourse,” Journal of Discourses 6:3-4, also in Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 345-346, and History of the Church, vol. 6, 305-307, emphasis added)
Mormonism teaches that you can become a god someday.
“It is a ‘Mormon’ truism that is current among us and we all accept it, that as man is God once was and as God is man may become.” (Melvin J. Ballard - Mormon Apostle General Conf. address, April 6, 1921)
General Authority Milton R. Hunter, wrote:
Mormon prophets have continuously taught the sublime truth that God the Eternal Father was once a mortal man who passed through a school of earth life similar that through which we are now passing (The Gospel Through the Ages, 1945, p 104).
This is not Christianity. In fact, it is actually blasphemy to mock God and say He was once a man.
The term heirs of God emphasizes our relationship to God the Father. As His children, we have “an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade . . . kept in heaven” (1 Peter 1:4). The Greek term translated “heirs” in Romans 8:17 refers to “those who receive their allotted possession by right of sonship.” In other words, because God has made us His children (see John 1:12), we have full rights to receive His inheritance. We are His beneficiaries (see Matthew 25:34; Galatians 3:29; Colossians 1:12; 3:24).
The word, 'as.' is used in metaphors.

Faye Lewis Very accurate and well stated. Context is EVERYTHING when taking something out of context it automatically becomes new context. Words do have meanings..... Mormonism is a post/modernism theology... WHAT'S TRUE FOR YOU..IS TRUE FOR YOU......BUT NOT TRUE FOR ME......AND WHAT'S TRUE FOR ME IS NOT TRUE FOR YOU..... Truth matters PEOPLE truth matters!!!

    • @cdowis
      @cdowis 6 років тому +2

" Context is EVERYTHING when taking something out of context it automatically becomes new context. Words do have meanings"
1 Peter 1 [20] Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
[21] For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man [theologians, philosophers, scholars] but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost [prophets]
We accept ALL the word of God, including the Bible and modern revelation. The modern day Pharasees disagree among themselves even regarding basic salvation doctrines. The Lord has called prophets in our day to restore His Gospel.
