Wow, this video is almost 9 years old.... I remember before when I was so excited on building my own model airport after watching this. Now 9 years later, I just finished making a diorama of Kai Tak International Airport. I came here to say thank you for inspiring me to have a hobby in diorama making
InsideLine PH That’s awesome! Hope you had a great time building it and that it turned out well. I would love to get back into it but I’m having a hard time finding the time. Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment!
Oh my god i've been searching forever for this video! When i was a kid i used to watch this video so much like 6-7 years ago! I didn't think i'd find it! I've always been a fan of aviation and model airports and so this video really inspired me and reminds me of my childhood!
I remember watching this back in 2012 when it had the old songs; guessing it got changed for copyright issues. This is what somewhat inspired me to make my own airports.
I used to do the runways and tarmac with photo paper. To be precise, I used the Matte photo paper, which is very durable and expensive. The regular printer paper is more perceptible to tear and damage, but is definitely worth using over photo paper. The thicker the paper, the harder it is to glue it down.
Yeah anytime. I just started collecting geminijets. I currently have the Delta 737-700. And I just ordered the US Airways Express CRJ 700, Continental 737-500, and UNITED 747-400. I hope to have a airport like yours someday.
Dude, at the end I started crying, LOL just kidding. You show how good Model Airports could be with such good effort, and you just proved it there. Amazing Airport, and I watched this 4 times and I should've commented sooner, just amazing airport and effort! =)
@averredude101 Lol. I will look into unblocking it for you! I do however think that the music made it blocked; I love everyone to see my films! Thanks for watching!
@Boeingfan727 Oh, don't worry. The ILS beacons have already been placed out. They look pretty realistic. Besides that, I can't wait to install the runway and taxiway lights. Thanks for the comment!
I had a layer of that big rolling paper over the top of the wood, and that has to be very tight. Then you can glue the next layer on using your own methods. However, you could buy an online design and take it to a print shop for professional quality.
It really depends on the width of the terminal, and the extra room between the gates and the planes. At 30 inches wide, you would definitely not be able to have a taxiway, and the apron would connect straight to the runway. 56 inches is perfectly long, because even my 84 inch runway is not even close to a scale 1:400 runway. My calculations show that a roughly 22 foot long runway would be the exact scale length, so don't worry with the runway length. Essentially, your could be too small.
Well, it really depends on which plane, and how old it is. The older planes from most manufactures don't spin, but the new models do. I would say that I have about 15 planes with spinning wheels.
: ) How Old are you? You gonna be an awesome Engeneer or a great Pilot I Guess!!! Beautiful Work By the way, Grat Video, and very Nice Music!!!! Congrats!!!
Brilliant airport! I am currently in the process of making Heathrow's pier 6 and will probably make a video soon! wouldn't mind if you checked it out when its up ;)
That is the reason for a description. LOOK There. Sorry for my rudeness, but I'm sick of people asking for information that I have made clear is already available.

Probably one of the most classic Gemini Jets videos out there. I remember watching this when I was very very young.
This is one of my favorite videos of all time
A utter masterpiece! Blows my airport out of the water!
That is just so so smart I thought of an Idea to all people wanting a mat you could just print out runways and use them! Great Idea right?
Thanks Flapsnslats for recommending jetwaymodels. I have already bought two aircraft from there and four on the way.
1:400 scale all the way. Thanks for watching!

Looking sharp, sure this will help many future airport builders out!

Song? Awesome video btw
Well yes but I already downloaded it. Thanks for the info in vid. It really helped
You can get a good one with models for around $500, but this one costs well upwards of that.
Love your work next step runway lighting. Like airport beacon, vasi, approach lighting, as well as threshold taxi way and etc
great video! especially liked the music:)
Would it not be easier to spray mount the tarmac, grass, etc so it would be completely flat with no ripples or edges lifting?
your work is incredible. BTW, where did you get the new runways? did you buy them or printed out yourself?
excellent work
awesome airport...where did u get those runway pictures from
@PIUFS18 Yes I am quite fortunate that I am able to have this collection. One day, I hope all people will be able to enjoy aviation this way.
What glue did you use to keep the runway and other stuff down? I'm building my own airport and I just dont want it falling apart..
