In this video I do take you through the repair process of a Renault Card.
In this case the card was too damaged, so I have replaced the whole pcb.
But I give a few tips of what usually goes wrong with this cards.

thank u, halford cant solve it so i will take it to other place to scan it, haford said maybe from filter diesel they change it and still same problem 5seconde always to start , and driving fine nice no problem and no message in screen, so i will scan it in other place, thank u mate

My Espace 4 have wireless card but didn't work wireless anymore :(
When I press the buttons from the card, the light turn on so I asume that the card is functionally!
I don't know why can't use wireless anymore :(

I got the same key.....but problem is ever 4 to 5 days I change the battery....any idea what might be the problem

Perhaps some component on the key...

Hello. I have a card problem. I'm missing one part that is on the top left, it has the same part on the right. You know maybe what that part is called and where it can be bought?

The card starts the car but does not unlock and lock. When the button is pressed, the LED on the card lights up but does nothing. Is it because of that antenna that is missing or something else?

great work man! you took transponder to another pcb, so imobilise side works on that car, question is does the remote side work for that car or do you need to code it?
Remote also works... everything is in the same chip...

hello there. nice video. it help me out with the chip replacement from one card to the other. but i have some issues now with the card because the remote now it doesn't work. Do you have any past list for the capacitors or components on these cards? i want to buy some parts but i don't know the references... i'm trying to compare 2 cards but they both have issues so i don't actually know for sure where the problem is on each one of them... hope you can help. thanks

@@LMAutoRepairs hello. the original key was "not detected". so owner bought used key. i tried to program with FVDI, but didn't work. so i changed chips in key. after getting a New Key (clone one) y programmed with FVDI and it worked. but after 1st programming, old keys were deleted, so i had to program a 2nd time, both keys. this is when "original" key stopped working the remote but works to start the car. New Key (clone) has no problem in remote or start car.

Open the card and identify the transponder...
Then buy a blank one already pre-coded for remote functions...
Solder that new transponder on the card, and program it to the car...

I have 2 keycards exactly like that. hands free for renault megane2. what programmer to use? and how. now my car works only with a nonhands free card and the original hands free card because was not presented during renault clip procedure is not recognized anymore.

ok. thks for reply. I have the isk and also I could get the pin code from it. Also I could generate the final incode in clip. I want to precode the pcf7943 and after that try again with clip programming. I have a 7 lines dump from another key card. My question now. Do I have to edit all 7 lines of the 7943 according to the dump or just the line 1 whole 8 characters, line 2 last 4 characters and line 3 first 2 characters? Also looking at different programmers some have just the 7 lines programming others have an extra 4 lines for remote part of transponder. I thought the last 4 lines. User 1-4 ar for remote, not another extra 4 lines.

Some ecus have immo and other data also on the flash memory...
Those types, if you change the eeprom, the will fail to start...

I’m in France. I damaged the keycard. France is locked down due to Coronavirus and I can’t find someone to fix it for me although I can still order the keycard (empty - need to be programmed) changing the transponder will resolve the problem of programming? Thank you in advance

No, I don't have... sorry.
did it work on the car? been thinking about this as I only have one dodgy key left, I have one where I broke one of the infra red? parts at the opposite end of the card to the battery. Doesn't the remote part need coding to the car? is that all on the transponder chip?

Yes, it worked on for the car... I have repaired many of these...
They don't have infrared, so I am not really sure what you are referring to...
If the card belongs to the car, no coding after the repair is needed...

My car has keyless entry, so you walk up to the car with the key in your pocket, put your hand in the gap between the handle and the door and it unlocks, I think this is what the 2 blocks at the other end of the keycard from the battery do, as not all of the keycards have these blocks, and the ones that don't don't have keyless entry, I mean, you don't have to press a button, you just as I said, pull the door handle, or push the boot button. I think this is the infrared part, as my car has some sort of sensor on the door behind the handle.
both keys are now dead, so being a UK car, I have to unlock the car from the passenger side door, alarm goes off, insert keycard, alarm goes off, unlock the car on the central locking, either climb over or get in the drivers door, then the car will start if key is in the slot. To lock it, I have to lock it on central locking, exit via the passenger side door, and lock that with the key.
I used to walk up to the car, pull the handle, get in and start the car with the key in my pocket!!!

Hi I have one question. My card from renault scenic ii 2008 hand free was water damaged.Then I bought a used one from scrapyard and move my transponder to that card, now car starts but remote function do not work, everthing is good solder can you help mi does reprogramming card again work

I am not 100% sure, but on the hands free cards, you have two chips.
Move the other one as well...

Yes... only one transponder chip... but swap also the chip at the top, the one between the hands free antennas, and the one at the bottom, close to the oscillator...

We use truecode it will code a card in less than a minute
Hi mate, thanks for the video. Will moving the transponder alone would suffice if I have a spare key card from a different car? Or should some PIN code be coded? Some technician told me he tried before to move the transponder alone to a different card but it disrupted the ignition unit in the car and the immobilizer, so he had to change the whole ignition unit to a different one. Does it sound possible? Have you tested this card on a car and all went smoothly?

It should work by moving the transponder from one card to another... and I can't see why it would disrupt anything on the car...
The card on the video worked perfectly after the repair...

Is the immobiliser deactivated when the card inserted?
Any messages on the dash?
The immobiliser light, the red light near the clock, goes off when the card is inserted?
hi mate i have found the problem in the ecu when they flashed it it was not sealled well water came in and it is a mess i wish i can send you a picture of it to see it i have to find another one and reflashed i pressume i have to verginize the eeprom

Hi, I need of one help. I have bought a new coil for my scenic keycard. I checked the buttons but only S2 and S3 emitting a radiofrequency. I checked contact from S1 and they work. I checked also solder over pin1 of PCF7947AT and seem ok. Can you help me to find a failure of S1? regards

It must be, follow circuit answer see if anything else is cracked or broken...
Dear Sir, I bypass the track of of circuit with a wire. Now seem ok...I check the RF with a scanner receiver tuned on 434.0025 MHz and S1 S2 S3 make a signal. Unfortunately again the doors of my scenic do not open....

Do you have clip right... see on live data what the car is seeing... you can also try to reprogram the card...
I found now that three SMD resistor (563) give a completely wrong value with multimeter...
In your opinion may be the reason of failure?

ON - immobiliser fault/activated. (it might means other things, but usually is that.
Blinking - Immobiliser active.

Are you saying you can't diagnose any of the ECUS on the car?

If you can't connect with any of the ECUS, to me sounds like a can line issue...
Look for the car wiring diagrams and check the lines...
There is another way to talk with the engine ecu, but in your case it will be better to try to find the fault, as the engine ecu will still need info from other ECUS.
Unless the fault is between the OBD and the gateway.

Hi, can you please tell what transponder is used? Is it PCF7947? Anyone knows if it possible to program a non-hands free card on scenics that have this type of card?

Its is usually that one... For the hands free is a different variant of that same chip... but I can't remember now which one is...
Anyway, you can program either a hands free to a non hands free car, or a non hands free card to hands free car... the hands free functions obviously will work only if the correct card is programmed...
During the programming procedure, (at least with Renault Clip), you get a warning if the incorrect card is inserted, but will allow you to continue...

Thanks for your answer. Meanwhile I found out that the chip in hands free cards is PCF 7943. I only have DDT2000 and Truecode to add the card. I only have pcf7946 card.
I will see what happens when I try to add it to the car when I can access the car.
By the way: did you ever successfully programmed yourself a non hands free card to a hands free car?

You can get a new card ready to program for about £30...
no message in screen no light, i have problem in one windows it block and also buton secure of blocking windows it work and sometime no sorry for bad my english
If the immobiliser is being deactivated when the card is inserted, your problem is probably not immobiliser related.
You need to have the car scanned, and go from there.
If no codes, you need to look at the live data....
