I wanted to add to the video: The Philippines experience a lot of natural disasters and it is incredibly hard to rebuild the infrastructure in some areas because as soon as it gets rebuild another natural disaster strucks. And therefore some areas can come over as struggling financially. So to answer part of my own question from the video as to why the Philippines seem very poor in some areas after traveling it for a while.
