    Awesome video. If I just install the NVMe SSD and upgrade RAM, but not replace the old HDD (same as what you did), does the computer speed uplift a lot? (BTW, i only want to use the old HDD for storing photos, files etc.)

    • @ItsBinhRepaired

      You will need to clone the OS drive to the SSD, then test it without the hard drive. After you verify it works, you need to format the hard drive.

    Thanks for the great video Binh,
    could you explain what specific RAM type we need for this model, the tools required and where we can purchase all these items?
    Any idea about the costs?
    would you recommend swapping the mechanical hard at the same time while we are doing all the hard work; to avoid having
    to do it all again?

      Not all models have replaceable RAM or the SSD slot. You'll want to see if yours has the slots before pulling it apart completely and buying the parts.

    Hello, great video on the 21.5 inch iMac but I have one question. On the OWC website it says it M.2 SSD Flash drive says NOTE: Aura Pro X2 SSDs can only be installed in 21.5-inch iMac models that came with a factory-installed SSD or Fusion drive. Aura Pro X2 is not compatible with iMac16,1 or iMac16,2 (Late 2015). I have a late 2013 iMac 21.5" with a 2.9 i5 quad core CPU with 16 gig of RAM and an NVIDIA 750M 1 gig video card and it didn't come with a Fusion Drive just a 1TB SATA 5400 RPM Drive. Did the this iMac you were working on come with the Standard 5400 RPM drive or a Fusion Drive. Also when you installed the Crucial PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 were you successful in installing the Mac OS? Plus if you were what is the maximum size you can installed in this iMac? Also where did you get the adapter for the M.2 2280 SSD in order to install it.

    • @ItsBinhRepaired
      @ItsBinhRepaired  10 місяців тому

      I recommend upgrading the SATA drive to an SSD. The m.2 thing is quite a bit more risky, especially if you don't do this type of work a lot, but if you really want to, here's the adapter amzn.to/46EIxDj
      I don't think it came with a fusion drive, but either way you'll want to check.

Nie uważasz? W ten sposób ,w który opisałeś swoją naprawę wprowadzasz ludzi w błąd. Podstawowa sprawa, po rozebraniu komputera trzeba wyczyścić układ chłodzenia, wymienić pastę termoprzeodzącą, wymienić baterię cmos, dołożyć RAM, można zmienić CPU jeśli ktoś chce, dołożyć NVME z adapterem, wymienić dysk 2,5" na dysk SSD.
