If you open a new window and select inches then go to file save tamp let make default. Then it will also be inches.

I just started to use inkscape today and but im trying to scale a Georgia license plate photo down to 1/64 scale for a hotwheels car but I don't know what measurements i need to do it and i cant find any answers online

you would need to take the initial measurement, lock the scale ratio, then multiply one of the measurements, either length or width by .015625 which is 1 divided by 64. So if your license plate width is 12 inches you would take 12 x .015625 which would be .1875" width. Then lock your ratio in Inkscape and set your width to that measurement. the height will automatically adjust proportionally if the ratio is locked. That would scale it to 1/64th scale.

when saving an image in inkscape for a plasma cutter,do you save your image in inches? i was told for my software,to save as mm,but my table is setup for inches, makes no sense to me,ive tried to save them from inkscape in inches, and when i bring it into myplasm, its the same size as inkscape measurements,

I save everything in inches. I use sheetcam and command cnc though. Some setups I believe require mm
