My best friend ordered the official WWE version. We were both so excited for it to arrive. Then we saw how flat it was and there was visible disappointment on our face. The WWE version is nice but for me, the flatness destroys the illusion. So I go Fandu, without a doubt.
Dude! I just subscribed to your channel last month because I loved your content on Power Rangers and comparing them to their Super Sentai counterparts, and now I'm discovering your wrestling videos one month later. I'm so glad I subscribed, please make more wrestling content, I would absolutely love watching whatever else you create.
Thank you. I'm waiting on a WWF Title belt from (I think) Pakistan to compare it to an official replica but the guy is a bit slow. I've been waiting for 2 months and still a while to go. We also planned a whole series of wrestling game videos for last summer but I started a new job so never got around to it - but we will.
I have a version 1, 2001 figures inc big gold and it was flat as a pancake. I gave it some wicked curve and replaced the plastic gems with quality crystals and it looks amazing, even despite weak etching.
Awesome Video man. Love this! Also, I found out where you can get your hands on the other WCW titles! Check out Ringside Collectibles. They have all the WCW Alliance edition belts. However, just note that they're all from 2001 so they're similar to your old WCW US belt so watch the leather. But still thought you'd like to know man! Excellent job!
No problem man! They're pretty inexpensive compared to WWE shop at least. They also do the previous ROH replicas as well. Good to find gaming and wrestling fans 😅
I've had every WWE shop/figs version of the WWE big gold. I also have had in my hands multiple Fandu big golds. The regular sized Fandu Big gold has great etching, although not accurate. The fandu's have a weird dome shape, which isn't accurate. The next gen big golds by WWE are accurate size and shape, and even thickness. The etching leaves much to be desired though
hey love you're vid. i wanna get the big gold from fandu. can you tell me the exact belt yours is? and exact gem colour and options. cause there's a bunch of different gem colours and options, and i'm not sure what one the actual big gold is. i dont want the weird silver colour ones. i want the gold one like yours. thanks
I have to ask. How great is the temptation to grab a can of black spray paint and tag the nWo stamp on the face of the belt? Just watching your video makes me want to tag them in a fit of nostalgia fueled thumbing of the nose at some imagined authority or history or whatever it was the nWo & "Hollywood" were rebelling against.
@@eaglesavage4929 - The modern belt is just an advertising marketing logo. That wwe scratch logo belt is a cheap design of glued on stones in the shape of their logo which is trademarked, makes it less likely to be bootlegged or copied. So wwe will always be the only sellers, no third party belt makers bootlegging it. That said I did pick up one recently which was releathered and restoned with real cubic zirconia. It's quite impressive and the bling it gives off as the light hits the stones makes you reconsider how bad of a design it is. Having it on a real authentic leather wrestling strap with real stones transforms it. But I would never spend the $300+ that wweshop charges for a synthetic strap with faje plastic glued on stones (which fall off easily) mounted into a metal frame, no way.
Yeah I still hate the Universal Championship, because of its laziness. I was hoping for something more classic, like the big gold belts or something like, the Undisputed classic.
Oh the WWE nacho cheese Doritos title? Yeah that one is pretty lame looking it's a big set of two W's on a red strap. I have a feeling that when Bryan loses the WWE title they are going to unveil the new WWE cool ranch Doritos championship to make it match the Nacho cheese Doritos one on Raw.
Yes, the Fandu is more of an artist's take on the Big Gold, but, at least on camera, it actually looks like a championship title. WWE's version, well... it looks like a toy, or a prop for someone's wrestler cosplay. I definitely want to get my hands on a Fandu belt now. :-)
I own an imperfect Fandu Big Gold. I took it to a WWE live event and it got an overwhelmingly positive reception. Fans would ask to hold it; I let them. They all made the same comment: "is this real?" and "it's so heavy. " The Fandu is in a class all by itself.
As much as I love the detail and the thickness of the plates in a fandu, I still prefer wwe shop versions. I got the wwe version of the big gold and the wcw. The fandu would really sell me if they made it bigger like the tv accurate version. I feel like when I wear it I’m wearing a kids belt or a toy foam belt I got when I was a kid. ONLY in terms of the size. It’s hard to choose because man those 8mm are amazing. I just wish it was as big as the tv accurate version
I've been staring at these belts for a while. The Fandu belt would actually be better if it was flat. It's not even curved, it's domed. With the dome, it looks about 2 inches from the width which is significant and makes the belt look weirder overall. If it was flatter, it would look better. The WWE belt is cast from whatever WCW was using for their replicas back in the 90s. It's not made from the cast made in the early 2000. The floral pattern between "Wrestling Champion" in the WWE version is all kinds of wrong, as it was in the WCW replica (I saw one in a crowd shot in a Nitro from 96.). The floral pattern in the WWE Big Gold is actually right, so the WWE does have a proper cast somewhere, they just refuse to use it for their replicas.
I'm not sure which wcw belt yall are criticizing but my WWE shop belt is gorgeous and heavy. Anytime I pull it out it's a stunner nothing like a toy or what is in this video. An interesting note....when the belt arrived the strap it was mounted onto is RED SNAKE SKIN-LIKE on the back. Looks so prestigious! Idk how that happened or what "version" the wcw belt is but the plates do have the curves on them. Looks amazing I keep in the carry bag. Also have the WWE winged eagle belt. I'm 35, to me these are the "Hogan & Flair" belts of my childhood. Too many versions after and now we have a "Universal" belt which ain't shit compared to the history of the Smackdown belt which would actually be the new "hogan" belt.
Sounds like you have have the WWE-era World Heavyweight Championship. The WWE version had curved plates and different straps available (and also features the WWE logo) with nicer tooling around edges of the leatherwork. The official replicas of the WCW version were only ever released with a simple, black simulated leather strap (as there was never a red croc-skin version of the WCW belt, only on the WWE version) and the plates were almost completely flat. There's a version with 4mm thick plates available now but many of the replicas previously used plates that were only 2mm thick and the simulated leather was of lesser quality. They seem to have improved recently but the older classic WCW replica belts all suffered from the problems mentioned.
Daddy Myrick shit I jus commented b4 seeing your post....hell yes red snake is what I have and in my opinion it shames all other wcw belts. Do u happen to kno how the snakeskin came about or who might have had that style??
@@georgecalderon6024 if you're talking about the red behind the belt it was put on around the Christian and Randy Orton feud, so I think either them or possibly, edge or Alberto Del Rio may have added the red back as I remember loving the belt til I saw Randy Orton holding it and seeing the red back, but now I like it and much prefer that belts look over the universal championship
Personally, Fandu belts are far more better looking belts than the WWE shop licensed belts given the fact that Fandu belts distributes detailed quality belts of it's own take and design. Best favorite Fandu belts are the big gold and the classic FWF tag belts. All 8mm thick with the weight of 7 Ibs. of gold. Heavy yet quality to separate from the rest of the WWE shop replicas hands down. Fandu belts #1.
Not a Belt Historian but it's my understanding that the WWF version does not carry the lineage of the TWA endorsed WCW version and is not the same belt. Basically, it's an imposter. The WCW Big Gold is a carryover from the real TWA 10lbs of Gold when the champ traveled the territories to defend the belt and the WWF version is a "WWF World Champion Title", making it essentially a Territory Champion's Belt. Also, I've noticed that the original WCW Belt is a more muted shade of yellow, like 10k gold whereas the official replica WWF belt has a lot more yellow. I suspect the WWE acquired the image of the belt which belonged to the WCW but not the lineage which was owned by the TWA, which is why the WWE version's lineage starts with HHH.
I like the WWE Shop better. When making the WCW's World Title I even change the coloring to make it look more like WCW's version lol. I actually like that it's not totally colorful.
UrbanAquarius - Yeah I've seen the Classic Shields Big Gold in person, and it was by far the the most detailed of any that I've ever seen. They take about 3 months, and cost about $2Grand, but if you are a true wrestling fan, and willing to spend your hard earned cash on a belt, don't compromise, get the best.

The WCW version was flat as fuck and the WWE version wasn't as flat
The WWE version looks cheap and stamped onto a flat piece of metal
All I know is the WWE belt designs now are ugly. Like a black person with blonde hair, just don't look right

Fandu wins as far as detail and quality. My only thing is the scaling is too small. are the current wcw big gold (2022) from wwe's shop a 4mm version?
The Fandu belt has more details, has brighter colors, and feels closer to the original. I would switch the fake leather with something closer.
The reason the WWE WCW belt is flat is because WWE will do anything to make the WCW brand seem inferior even though they own the brand. If you picked up a WWE world championship replica you would see how they curve it and the belt seems to be a better quality.
