I am not a hundred percent sure but, he was most likely supporting the Red Army. He was a proud man and gave a promise to his son (my great grandfather) that he would come back alive. However, not everything is meant to have a good ending. Dmitry couldn't keep his promise. The year was 1918 when the sun had set for him.
Now I'm thinking with what's going on in Ukraine would the white army do the same thing? I just want to see real democracy flourish in Russia, the people had enough of dictators
