The Byway! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. My love for camping got me into overlanding, but the byway got me into offroading. My first real "overlanding" experience was with you as our guide, and Jeremy too. The Trailspin Jeep has been in need of an engine tear down for years now, and was just recently patched up, and I'd be lying if I didn't say this video gave me the itch to head south.
Watched the overland movie and when I checked your channel I was shocked your latest vid was at DBBB. Just got a new jeep and been researching DBBB as I live in Lexington. New subscriber.
Omg that japanese bbq looks amazing. Quicktip, prep it and soak it in sesame seed heavy teriyaki sauce while you're on the road. Glaze one more time while cooking. Skewers will be amazing.
@@RevereOverland absolutely. I want to, I am at a couple decision points, and would like to run some stuff past you. And, I'd love the opportunity to spend some time w the folks @ Coddiewomple too. I have ideas, but I have a feeling they're solutions to problems already solved, lol. Not a ton of overlanders in FL to brainstorm with 😁 I just have to talk the wife into it. Shouldn't be too hard after picking up the iKamper RTT Comfort 5082. Talk about cozy...
@@RevereOverland you bet can't wait, I missed you a MOORE but you are rockstar at that big of an event so I didn't look to hard.....LOL, I hope to stop by and check out SHW and the shop when I come through the on the 13th.
it's funny.. having traveled the entire continent the past year and a half or so it made me love my home state (Pennsylvania) more than I did while I was there. Seems like there's a bit of that going on here. Great video as usual!
This is so awesome to see the DBBB is essentially where you got started ! Thank you for doing what you’re doing to help keep our favorite place open 👍👍
The Back Country Byway is something I really want to do. It looks like so much fun and it's not that far from me, just gotta finish building out the Jeep. Also, see you at Expo East!
Good to see you doing a throwback trail after so long. Always nice to remember your prior overland roots and where it all started. Trails always seem harder coming back after some time. Erosion and other tracks from other 4 wheel drives take place often. I’ve seen 2-3 difficulty rated trails turn into 4-6 over the course of a few years, at least in my area.
I'd love to, but I'm going to leave it to the guys with the right insurance and permits! My insurance company has already threatened to drop me once over something they misunderstood!
I've run the dbbb a few times. What a great ride, all the way through. Lots of creek crossings. This will let you know what your ride is capable of. Big difference between rocking crawling and this stuff. Awesome video sir .. 🤘🤘 Hope to see y'all at Overland East
Lol! Most people go to Callie’s campground. There are a few spots on Spaas Creek and one just off New Virginia Ridge Road. I’m hoping to explore more to try and find some spots on the new parts of the Byway.
The Jeep seems well specked for the mud performs better here than Utah ,looks some pretty country, nice you could film but it helps when Jeremy looks at home behind the wheel ,I’m enjoying the Jeep content more than I would have thought
I'm glad you liked it! I definitely couldn't have made this video without Jeremy's help. The Jeep does well in the mud with those Toyo RT Trails, and it's definitely better suited to wheeling than it is the long distance overland trips.
Just got back from my own trip down, looks like we hit a lot of the same spots. Did you hike down the sinking creek trail or just drive down, check it out then leave? We hiked up the high water trail and then walked back down through the rock garden / creek, it was really beautiful.
@RevereOverland I'm beginning to learn that. I didnan obstacle this past weekend we're it just crawled up no issue. Last year with the Land Cruiser I had to slam it in 2nd 4 low and hope for the best.
Ballsy to wheel those kinds of trails without rock sliders… That grill looked nice. I bought an Ötzi a while back, and I’m lukewarm on it. It does not have great air flow, the metal gets a bit deformed, and it only burns solid fuel, not propane.
What a great bromance. Was fun meeting Jeremy at Expo East. Nice to see you in a Jeep.

That was a great time! You’ll have to bring it on down!
Great to see you and Jeremy hitting trails together!... That boy can cook!
He certainly can! He's going to be cooking for our meetup at Overland Expo East.
Thanks

Awesome! The DBBB is a great system, but make sure you’re ready for some mud!
Sorry I missed this, This was my first trail ever riding with you guys! Then straight to Holiday!
We’ll have to go out again some time soon!
Great looking food right there! Sweet video too!
It was really good!
We will see you there 👍
See you there!
Great video Rob..! The drone footage looks really good..!!
YES !!! I love tracks like this. Great Video
Mountain Springs is super fun! We will be down there in a few weeks!
Cool trail! What a great cause you're supporting. We all benefit from keeping trails open and accessible 🙌
Lunch looked delicious, and the area looks like a great place to explore… wish I could make it there for the ride!
It's a lot of fun with all the trails in the area! Now that the Byway is up to 500 miles, I'll have to go out and ride it some more.
Omg that japanese bbq looks amazing. Quicktip, prep it and soak it in sesame seed heavy teriyaki sauce while you're on the road. Glaze one more time while cooking. Skewers will be amazing.
Welcome home, sir. We love it here. Hope to see you on the trails!!

Thanks Rob! Looking forward to next week on the #DBBB.
I have eaten Jeremy's cooking. Rob is not kidding, top-notch!
It's really good. He's cooking for us at Overland Expo East too, which should be good!
Thanks Tony!
Great video! Ive only done Spaas creek and pumpkin hollow..but love the dbbb bbbbbbbbb
Spaas Creek is one of my favorites, but you can't beat Mountain Springs if you want a little more of a challenge!
That lift & skid plates already paying dividends 👍
You got that right!
Great video and adventure! Trail looks a lot like British Columbia.
Overgrown and muddy, but without the mountains!

I truly enjoyed your original review of the DBBB and would watch all of the video if you reviewed the new sections road by road!
The JLUR looked like it did great 👍 love your content 👍
It did! The Jeep is amazing on the trail. On the road... not so much!
@@RevereOverlandadjustable shocks and seat risers make the road more enjoyable.

What's your back story? How did a British guy end up permanently in Kentucky? 😊
That's my wife's fault. She's from Kentucky and studied in the UK, where I met her. I followed her back when I graduated.
Great video. I will definitely add to my adventure bucket list
Great video, good to see you back at the trail that 'started it all' for 'ya. Would love to see a Revere Overland "organized" ride out there.

Can you camp or more specifically disperse camp in the area of the DBBB? Or nearby? Man you literally answered this 5 seconds after i commented. LOL.

KAT is a good one too, but certainly less technical expect for the designated hard sections
