kayla. twt Only way to get your Fa’arapu smooth and big is to do it technically correct: “bend and use your core, while shifting both legs equally”. A proper Fa’arapu comes from the stomach. Not the hips, not the butt, nor lower back.
Women are suppose to move their hips. It's good for us to get blood flow there. Good for our pelvis. So how on Earth could this be bad for you when it's healthy to dance? You should be directing this question to stiff women who don't dance. I do understand when you take things too serious like Michael Jackson you will feel pain though.
Most professional dancers have issues with their chosen craft wearing down on their bodies over time, no matter what the style of dance. I imagine it’s fine in moderation, but gets worse for the body the more high-level you get (like basically any professional dance or sport).
Now I know where the famous statement of Bond, James Bond , came from. After he saw this dance he said in answer to query as to how he felt. JB replied " Shaken , not stirred"
They are Beautiful, all of them. I could watch them all day. I like the thicker one in the beginning of the video. I am a big dude and see would be perfect. 6’10” 290 lbs.
Both ... I am Black American and twerking is one of our dances mostly done recreationally (parties, competitions) and/ or for entertainment (e.g. nightclubs, strip clups). Twerking utilizes a lot legs, hip, abdominal and gluteal muscle movements. Sometimes, it can acrobatic with splits, headstand etc. Also, please keep in mind lower body isolation (e.g. hips, adominals, and leg work) is prominent amongs Africans and Diaspora. Furthermore, I am getting real tired of Polynesian dances such as the one seen in this video being compared to twerking. I believe those comparison are truly rooted throwing shade at my people...insinuating our dance is without purpose, lacking of culture and hypersexualized. Let's not forget around the world there are many types of dances that are done for ritualistic, sexual enticement, and social/entertainment (e.g. folk dance) purposes. Please stop comparing the two. I find it rather condescending, insulting and low key racist.
Admin GenesisHealthcareConnect Tahitian dancing is beautiful, classy (yet sensual), and full of rich, profound culture. Maybe it was just because she wasn’t used to it, but one of my classmates (African-American) found Tahitian dancing to be very difficult for her but was a natural at twerking.

Serious question: Is this movement bad for the spine or hip joints over the years?
EzE Eze Yes they get arthritis in the hip joints unfortunately
kissandmakeup16 That’s sad but I guess many passion filled athletic endeavors come with a price.
EzE Eze just everything in moderation, it’s so beautiful and peaceful, maybe the pros will put weigh the cons for you, hope everything goes well

Your instructor you make a video tutorial for all of us old farts who would still like to learn!
Omg That is rough competition to dance alongside your competitor
I’m not a dancer but which is more difficult, twerking or this one?
I'd imagine this because you're engaging your whole body and dancing and moving around while moving your hips in rhythm 🤔
