Hi everyone! Here's my 2019 Inktober Sketchbook Tour! This year I dedicated a lot more time to the challenge and pushed myself to try different drawing ideas. Working on daily drawings helped me so much with building up more confidence with inking again and I really hope you enjoy this sketchbook tour!
Be sure to let me know what you think of my sketchbook. And also let me know if you took part in the challenge!
Thank you so much for the amazing support!! It truly means a lot to me and I can't wait to continue posting more drawing videos for you soon. Hope you're all having a great day!
-Chris
You should do a Kickstarter or something for you red caped character and make a story book or comic. Your fans would buy it!!!
we have the same birthday! Birthday buddies!
I turned 26 on October 7th this year :)
What do you use to add your white highlights?
Happy Birthday 🥳, October 7th is my birthday too !
@@jeremyvotaw1522 soo true I'll be the first...!!
I just had an eyergasm
Haha thanks so much for the support!!
agreed...
*artgasm
Don’t you mean you had an eye an eyegasam
Me too
The red caped character story needs to 100% be a thing
Yeah maybe with a love interest some day
I was thinking this too!! Like a comic book style graphic novel or something.
I believe it’s called Hyper Light Drifter
@@wesleyclark2714 I dunno man, by injured it looks like he's turned into goblin slayer.
Please continue the red capped character! I so enjoy him whenever he appears.
I'd love to try and develop their story. :) Thank you so much for the support, Katie!
I think the red cape man is putting yourself in the art! I love it!!!
Maybe the red capped character used to live in one of those houses suspended over the water. He used the flag as his cape! ❤️
@@TheSharples22 that's perfect! Do you like 2019's inktober list better? I don't, I feel like this year is kinda lame.
Janae Harper I never did it before but I thought the list from last year was awesome. This year’s list is more challenging and since I am going to participate, I found out that it is taking me out of my comfort zone. I have started the sketches and even finished some of the artwork. Sometimes I started out with a sketch that I didn’t like but the final result has become something I’m proud of 😊😁👍🏻
Personally; I think Lethal Chris' Inktobers are the most creative, and the colouring is way more pleasing to look at than most. The tan paper he uses with the copics and the extreme highlights/low-lights makes his art stand out so well and I'm always mesmerized. Also his voice is so soothing to listen too I could sleep with his videos playing.
I really can't take this seriously when you're Robbie Rotten
This level of creativity reminds me of how much of a scrub I am 😂
Whelp
The husky looked so realistic, I love it!!
All of your works always inspire me so much, keep up the amazing work!
Thank you so much, Molly!!! :)
Molly Eilbes I agree, he’s very inspiring!
*Me too!*
I was really inspired by your Inktober drawings this year. Your drawing for the prompt "Misfit" has to be one of my favorites. Awesome job this year and congrats on four years of Inktober!
I could barely get passed day four, so I have no clue how you were able to stay dedicated for four years!
Thank you so much, T J!!!! :)
Yes I love this one! It shows that even if you’re different, you can be a beautiful. You can be unique, yet in a fantastic way!
Art Factory what?
Alright, Chris. I cannot be the only one that wants to see a fully illustrated book on the red caped character's story.
Looks at his turtle drawing
“Wow thats realistic looking”
Him
“I would really want to try to draw a realistic turtle someday”
Me
“Alright ima head out”
Edit: thanks for the likes y’all
nick ___ 😭😂 me too

I was gonna like your comment, but you have 420 likes, I aint messing that up.
@@sirgallabad too late
its because this is more of an illustrative style so a lot of things are exaggerated and cartoony compared to other art styles that tend to more accurately depict the natural world. some styles lend themselves more towards realism even though they don't prioritize realism over other elements that define the genre so for instance impressionist works can read as more realistic than illustrations because illustrators purposefully exaggerate and design shapes to culminate them into a specific idea that they are communicating which they hope is not lost on the viewer, for instance if someone is fat or if food is really tasty. so what he meant was he would like to switch gears and instead of exaggerating the appearance of a turtle to communicate an idea he would like to create a piece which might better hide the hand of the artist while still leaving him with some decisions to make as far as design and composition, but still allowing the innate beauty of the turtle to speak for itself. so its really similar to the idea of trying to create something beautiful based on something thats already pretty and trying to just appreciate the original beauty of the outside world and trying to bring as much of that beauty as you can to the table without tarnishing it or missing the point
The back of the page is just as good as the front! My favorite is the dragon. I always love your dragons!
Thank you so much, Kelly!! :)
I like the fact that with every sketchbook you see his style developing without losing its original feel and tone
Would love to see a character design of the “red cape character”. Been watching for a while and always wondered what he looks like up close!
part of the appeal of the character is that he/she is seen from a distance, sort of a mystery. Maybe their face would be hidden by the shadow of the hood. It was really great how the character in the later drawing had picked up the sword from earlier. Love that kind of touch.
I feel like this sktetchbook is part of an amazing story in a whole entirely seperate little magic world, as the artworks are all tied together so well by your unique style, I really really love it. Also your chuckles every now and then make me very happy, it is obvious that you've been extremely passionate about this.
i clicked on this by accident but i think this is the best accident i've ever made
I love seeing your progress throughout the years. It's so satisfying. 💕
I'm not exactly what you'd call "an artist" but I tried inktober too this year and it was super fun. It helped me develop some drawing skills. Thanks for the inspiration.🤗
Thank you so much!! :) Awesome to hear that you took part as well! It's such a fun way to develop your ability.
SpooderGwen , I agree, his progress is awesome, i tried inktober also this year, it was so hard to keep up
If you make art, you’re an artist! :)
I love how you create stories to go along with your artwork! It adds so much more depth and, personally, it inspires me
This guy blew my mind. He is so talented and evry time he turned the page I was stunned. I love his use of lighting, and especially the snow prompt. He seemed like a really positive person as well. I subscribed right away.
I just fell of my chair... every time you turned the page I was just soo amazed! These are all soo wel made!!!!!
This is the story of the journey of the Red Cloak! Very dynamic and expressive!
I'm getting a lot of inspiration from this
these are so beautiful love your art style and i aspire to be like you
Thank you so much, Magnus! That means a lot. :)
@@LethalChris1 your so welcome Chris keep up the outstanding art :)
I love how each drawing has an influence on itself. The ornament and ghost, might be his lost ornament. The ruin taken over by the overgrowth shows the after affect of the red caped character. The dragon turning on him into war. Amazing
I can't decide which one is my favourite, they are all so good. The cat with the fish is really cute but I also really like the one with the birds.
Thanks so much, Becca!! :)
@@LethalChris1 It is really amazing how you make the glass look so 3 dimensional, and reflective and even the reflection of the fish on the ground.
Becca Rame , i really like the birds picture also!
If you re-arrange your pieces you’ve already made a story for the red caped character! Amazing work
I absolutely love your style. I sadly couldn't complete it but the ones I did draw, it was extremely fun!!! So glad to hear you finished and hope you have a brilliant weekend!!
Thank you so much for the kind words!! Hope you have a brilliant weekend too!! :)
Bandito so you didn’t finish it in Inktober why can’t the drawing run into Inkvember or Inkcember? 😉 You said you enjoyed the ones you finished, so, work on the ones you didn’t. In any order, until you are done. It’s your sketchbook, sketch at your own pace!! Would love to see it when you are done. I’m a closet artist~not nearly as talented as my daughter (she draws fantasy pics beautifully!!) but you can tell what I draw LOL. These pics are gorgeous!!!! And the story the Red Caped character could tell with his dragons, and treasure.....it could be as amazing as your drawings!!!!! Love the Tasty pic 🥰 looks like our cat Scarlet....and the pic after, day 26, is absolutely breathtaking.......thanks for sharing!!!!!
@@jillanderson2596 Thank you so much! I'm really glad to hear those kind words. I have done most of it (some of It in November) but most of it in October. I was thinking about posting it on my channel after I'm done.
@@keegan.machart ok. I'm holding you to your word!!! I just subscribed to your channel!!! 💕 the chicken.....can't wait to see more of your artwork!!! Maybe set to music you enjoy???

The worst part of this sketchbook is knowing as the days pass, the book will end. Amazing work sir, just amazing.
Your ink sketches and style has become new goals for me, your artwork and style is AMAZING and I would really like to see more adventures of the Red Caped Man. Keep up the Amazing work and you have been and inspiration for me and gave me the courage to tackle Inktober 2020
I kinda want an entire story over the red caped figure throughout inktober
I wish I had time to do Inktober, but I couldn’t cause of School and Fitness stuff. I have to say, the MOST detailed Inktober book I ever seen.
i dont think i've ever had this much of raw feeling towards a youtube sketchbook tour vid 🧍🏻
I like it how all drawings are made in one recognizable style. Great work!
The back of the page looks better then I can draw. Who else?

I literally can’t even draw a stick figure. At the risk of sounding kinda dumb, Art absolutely blows my mind. That you can make things from your brain come out of your hand onto paper. It’s incredible.
Your work just gets more incredible from year to year. I always watch your Inktober review a few times a year for inspiration!
Guess who's depressed and didn't even bother to finish Inktober?
Next year we've got it!

I always get so excited when one of your videos comes up! Love your artwork!
This was so pleasant to watch. Such beautiful pieces. I like the drawing style, it would work great for illustrating books.
I love your art 👏👏👏 it's amazing I hope you'll reach a million soon!!
@Legend Zaze I love his art and when he draws realistic drawings of animals it's so fun to watch
Thank you sooo much!!! :D Reaching a million would be awesome!! I love being a part of the community on this channel and can't wait to post more drawing videos soon!!
Maybe the whole of your inktober drawings for 2019 could be the characters story?
Danni Smith that’s a great idea, meeting a magical turtle, getting a husky, meeting a wizard
That snowy piece was amazing. I love the layout, the lighting, everything.
The frosted rose and snowy landscape are amazing!!!
For the rad cape character, You should make A comic book story that would be cool
Can’t wait to see the red caped character’s story!
I love it man I'd kill to sit and look through all those books in person. I can sit there for hours looking at something myself or anyone drew for hours looking at every line or mark they make . How they carry their mistakes and I love to see the things people can conjuor out of their mind . It's amazing
Amazing sketchbook tour for this year again. It was your sketchbook tours for inktober and your vivid description of the process and thoughts behind each of your wonderful drawings which led me to complete the inktober challenge this year. And each day of October seeing your drawing gave me motivation to go on.
I absolutely love your artwork. I hope you'll share with us you drawing them in the future. My favorites are: Mindless; Snow; and Dizzy.
Thank you so much, Andrea!! :)
I just LOVE your Inktober book, every single drawing is incredible beautiful, and personally, I love seeing your little red character here and there :) it´s making me want to read about him! there´s just so much about him that I don´t know, you know :D If you ever write a book or make a comicbook about him, I would jump on that train without a second thought! just saying *hint-hint* ;)
I did´nt take part of Inktober, can barely draw, I´m more about the acrylics :) but, I find a lot of inspiration from you and others that does these challenges, it´s pushes me to go outside my comfort zone :)
Anyways, you did an amazing job, and thank you so much for sharing your Inktober :) I loved every single page you made :)
Your videos inspired me to start learning how to draw. These are all absolutely amazing drawings. I love the little laugh you have when you get excited about one of your drawings.
The lighting in your works are absolutely fantastic! Love your art!
Who else thought it was a red cardinal lol when he said red cape character, it shocked me
Loving Lex I thought it was a cardinal until I really looked at ot
Seeing all of these phenomenal artists make me depressed knowing Im never gonna be there xD
you and me both. Everytime I see these kind of skills I feel ashamed to call myself an artist so now I just say "I like to doodle"
I feel you, but please don't give up! We can get to be as good as them, we just have to continue doing what we love~
And practice.
@@TheGreenPoncle hey, don't feel ashamed. You might be an amateur, a beginner, but that's how everyone starts. Just continue, and if you don't call yourself an artist, I will xd
@Fanni Demeter
I really appreciate the words, I want to improve. I wanna see myself improve, but it will take time
@@Stryker_VR You're more than welcome :) and yeah, it's gonna take a lot of time, but as you can see, it is worth it :D
I really love these sketchbook tours. I like the paper you use, not the standard white. I even like how the image bleeds through the paper because even the backs of each page are interesting. I love the white highlights. I am grateful that you list the materials you use and I need to go to the art store. I really liked the husky, and how you use a bit of color here and there. I like how much nature is in your videos, forests and trees and skies and a volcano too!! I like the red caped character.
Watching these art videos has inspired me to start sketching again. I don't know how you could complete even one of these in a day. I'm not an artist....Ok maybe I'm an untrained frustrated artist. Last night I sketched for the first time in years, and drew a swan. Turned out pretty good just going from memory. I want to try some watercolors. I should start a shopping list. Most of my craft supplies are stolen or in storage and it's been killing me not being able to express that side of me. I really am grateful that I found the UA-cam art community for inspiration
Absolutely love your Inktober! One of the best I've seen! you do a good job at explaining your ideas behind the photos and the stories.
Should have been called "inkedecember" since everything looked so wintry :)
All of your Inktober drawings are stunning, it's hard to pick a favourite! Also love seeing your red cape character again!
Thank you so much, Brittany!!! :)
Have been following your channel for the last few years and I always look forward to your inktober book tours.
I love your style, it's so mystical and it inspires me alot. Your drawings are actually the main reason I tried Inktober this year and I barely finished it. Your art is truly amazing and I can't wait to see your Inktober sketchbook next year.
This year was my 3rd time doing this epic challenge.
I had locations and backgrounds as themes for this year and I drew them as best as I could
It was really fun and I learned many techniques.
Btw your drawing for dizzy is amazing
That's so awesome! It's a great challenge for developing ability in specific ways like this. Practising locations and backgrounds is a brilliant idea.
Thank you so much for the support!! :)
@@LethalChris1 IKR I'm a somewhat lazy person and challenges like inktober are what brings the beast in me.
your drawings and videos are also a huge motivation for me
I find that whenever you do a sketchbook for inktober I end up making a whole story up in my mind about all the drawings especially the red caped ones
Haha awesome! It honestly means a lot to know that. Thank you so much. :)
Your Inktober videos are super inspiring, I love your style so much ahhhhh
I look forward to this video every year! Awesome stuff!
This is how many times he said highlight

I would love to see a world turtle, with a city on its back with a over grown rocky body
Everything about this video is so relaxing the artwork and your voice , thank you for making my day better
All of these artworks are really stunning ! Also your voice is very calming.
Fantastic collection of work!$🔥🔥
Thank you!! :)
Can u maybe do a tutorial on how to sketch /sketch a dragon?
That's a great suggestion! Thank you. :) I'd love to try something like that. Hoping to start working on more tutorials again soon.
Yes please,That would be amazing. basic shapes to create a dragon, legs or no legs, how the wings work, the faces, scales and textures. So many aspects
wow.... your Inktober sketchbook is literally goals.... love every single piece of artwork in there ... i honestly can't even choose a favorite.
This is such a detailed sketchbook tour, loved to hear little stories behind each sketch. The snow ones were my favorite, Thank you!
Third!
Actually you're first!
Me: Let me get my pen and paper..
Me Also: "I Can't Really Draw"... 😂😂
This has been my third year attempting Inktober and has finally been the year that I succeeded. Not very consistent with the “finished” quality. But at the very least I did linework for every piece and got them all done by the deadline with barely any delay! Also used ink, dip pen, brushes and watercolour and by chance the Inktober challenge perfectly filled my entire sketchbook which I started in May this year and am so proud that I filled every page of this sketchbook consistently throughout the year!
Always love seeing your sketchbook tours for Inktober, especially with your style, execution, concepts and even materials being so different from mine. It really is a joy to see your work and hear how much you enjoy the challenge.
I love how passionate you are, talking about your art! I feel like I just soak up your enthusiasm ❤ The fact that every piece tells a story and is almost like a scene out of a book is just incredible. And of course, your skill as an artist is astounding. Amazing!!!
Me:MOM PLZ THE LAST TIME CAN I GET A WHITE INK PEN
Mom:no
I find with the uni ball and gelly roll whites end up turning a pale colour of the markers underneath after a while. Anyone else found this?
I love your work! Its so amazing! I was just wondering how do you get the colors to blend without lines? I cant figure it out 🙈
Your Inktober 2019 sketchbook tour was beautiful and inspiring.😊 I'm interested in seeing more of your red caped hero.
Your art is so smooth and holds so much atmosphere! I absolutely love how you handle light and shading. Its also great to see how your drawings werent just plain black and white (although thats always an option of course :)

Hasn't anyone else possibly thought that it's the *humans* who're the enemies?? I mean, not tryna hate, your art is absolutely gorgeous, but in terms of nature versus humans...
HUMANS are the enemies, EVERYTIME
because its drawn from the perspective of the humans, the dragon would be the enemy. if it was drawn looking down, I'd say the humans were the enemy. also humans are nature.
@@drpancake4103 Just because it's in the perspective of the humans does not make it an enemy. It shows no signs of aggression or any desire to attack any human, it's just flying through the night and the humans decided that since it's a giant beast, it must be killed. Wouldn't be the first time
Being an enemy doesn't make you bad it just put you on the opposing side of someone else. So judging from the picture unless he likes being pummelled with rocks they are each others enemy. From what I've heard those dragons aren't native to this land and are destroying the ecosystem. Buring crops, killing livestock. Children are starting to starve in that community due to that invasive species. The dragons don't directly kill humans, in fact they don't care about them, however they have devastated the land and much of the life there is dying off. It would be nice to find a better solution to the problem but if these people don't act quickly it might be too late for everyone; and I commend them for that.
@@drpancake4103 Wow you did a lot of research, huh? Well, I was just saying that the dragon wasn't doing anything and all of a sudden was being attacked for the sole purpose of being big enough to be feared, doesn't necessarily mean they were doing all of that. Oh well, you can interpret a drawing in whatever way you want, that *is* what art's about
haha in fairness I agreed with you at first, when I heard him say that. That's why I went on that bit of a rant, so I could look at it from a different perspective, sure what else is art for.
All of your drawings are absolutely amazing and show your great attention to detail! Love them all.😊
I love what you did for this year's inktober~ You did amazing work!
Love your work, very inspiring. Really love how you make your make your drawings come to life with your style of shading and highlighting.
Your lighting in the final renders is phenomenal!!!
The way you use shadow and reflection is soooo beautiful, and such a strong part of your compositions. It's something I neglect sometimes but after watching this I'm going to focus on it significantly more.
My God you are incredibly talented!! I could look at your art for hours!!
Just wanted to say I'm amazed. Not my first time watching your inktober video and I love them all!
I absolutely love your artwork. Please keep doing what you’re doing.
