Thank you for posting this video. I fixed mine in about 10 minutes. When I got underneath, I found that both of the wires had pulled out of the connector. I think I might have run over a stick and it caught it just right and pulled them out.

Who says it's hard to get to? It is right there on top of the transmission, when the engineer looked down as it sat on the table it was very easy to get to, just reach down. 😂.

Could this cause my truck to slip in 1st and 2nd and not want to engage in drive

Would it have been easier to remove the sensor to test resistance and also would be able to see if metal was stuck to the magnet cause a false signal?

Can definitely see why you need jumper wires to connect to the multimeter, that's not an easy area to get into. Appreciate these great video jim.

That is for sure sometimes you can’t see anything or even get your hands in their to work

I replaced my sensor but I am still not able to get the truck to run and speedometer doesn’t work aswell as when I rev it to 2000 rpm in every gear it doesn’t move but says “trans fault” and the wrench and “od/ off” turns on

I wished I saw this video right when I noticed the problem my van is doing the exact same thing but now I think i damaged the transmission but if works just saved thousands of dollars

Thank you for the video but it cracks me up to make an extension to test the sensor when it didn't matter your results weather it was good or bad you were replacing it and you took it off faster then setting up the extension

Could this cause my 05 F150 to not engage reverse? Mine is throwing the same code and only my reverse is not working

Question: Did you notice if the speedometer was working while the problem was happening?
I have a 2007 FX4, rebuilt transmission about 20K miles or less. I get the "OD Off" light flashing, the wrench light comes on, the check engine light is on anyway due to a bad oil pressure gauge in my gauge cluster (but oil pressure is actually fine).
However the issue is that the truck starts up fine, will take off fine, but around the first gear shift change the lights all come on and she doesn't want to go. I am noticing the speedometer is at zero. HOWEVER...IF the speedometer comes back to read the proper speed, then the transmission starts working fine.
So is the speedometer a clue if someone doesn't have a code reader? And if so...do I understand there are input shaft speed sensors, and output shaft speed sensors, and then is there a third speed sensor? Are all accessible on this year and model from underneath or are there any that require removing the pan and accessing the leadframe?
Thank you for your video. This is so far the closest I have found toward my issue.

Mine tested fine -- repeatedly -- when it was cold... driving the truck and warming it up that way, limp more, failed sensor. 🥸
