Wow Ben -- looked like you were coasting in this race. Nicely done and thanks for taking us along on your 5K. I sort of wish we had some sort of 5K run in the United States for Christmas Day but races here are definitely money-motivated, so if there is a big no-show, the race organizer is out a lot of money -- so they simply don't take the chance on it. I've been racing since 2004 and I don't think I've ever seen a Christmas Day run ever. Love your video and keep up the good work.
There are a few now in America, I know there is one in New Jersery that many people who do the NY marathon join in. There is another in Florida that I was planning to visit on a trip to Orlando last year.
Great video as always Ben. Brilliant to see you there and talk to you and appreciate the finish line footage!!!! 👍🏻 Great to talk to you both on Sunday too and a massive congrats on your PB!!!
another great video here ben. well done on your sister for going out on Christmas day and running her first ever parkrun. also the ending was amazing. 🤣🤣🤣
Nice easy paced parkrun for you Ben. Great to see the turnout on Christmas day and your sister joining you. Loved the "tragic" ending to the video. Keep up the great content and all the best for 2022.
3:27 It’s me😂 Glad I was able to see you on this one, missed the last one through injury but just getting back to it now finished 27th in the end although taking it easy/progressive as getting back into it. love watching your videos not only to understand how to run better, not get injured etc, but also to see the local content is fun to watch. I have goals to get sub 18 by the end of next year using your tips and applying all of them from separate videos going way back. Before I was injured I did 19:28 when I wasn’t going flat out and wasn’t expecting it not to mention Colchester’s unoptimal route. Anyway, you’re running very well right now, very well done on your fast 5k pb in the pouring rain and just after the runners v riders the day before and this park run! If that’s your pb then think you could smash this by about 20 seconds on a good day💪👍
I’m glad you spotted yourself! The atmosphere at this one was great so thanks for being part of it. Wish you all the best with your goals and hopefully you’ll get back to where you were before your injury in no time. Thanks for the support
Great video Ben. All the best for next year. Looking forward to seeing more. You should try Chilton Fields ParkRun in Stowmarket. You’ll have to bring your spikes/trails shoes though as it’s so muddy! Great Fun.
Gutted I couldn't be there this time as Colchester is my local parkrun! I'll be going to the New Year's Day one though. Great video as always and looks like you had a good time. The winning streak continues!
Got my first pair of carbon plated racers (Vaporfly Next %2) for christmas this year :) You should've seen my face I was so happy. Hoping to get a pair of dragonflys this year since they are sold out almost everywhere
Saw you at Clacton Parkrun a few months ago and thought, for a split second, you were Ross From Friends (the musician). Have since found your videos and enjoyed them very much!
Hey Ben, I find your videos very informative and look forward to seeing what comes next. Question though, what Garmin watch do you use? You've probably been asked this before and I've just missed it 🤦🏻
I wont lie, I missed out on Xmas day run as Id had 4 hours sleep and really didnt think I'd make a decent effort...did run at home though so got the distance done anyway
Great to meet you there Ben and hope you had a great Christmas!
And you Tristan! Great running
16 minutes on Xmas day, love it!
That course lol, I was waiting for a pile up. Well done Ben and your Sis
There’s always a few near misses! Especially in the pouring rain 😂
Run the Colchester Parkrun course hundreds of times & have never seen or heard of a pile up.
How lovely of your sister to join you!! Great running, as always Ben!
Thank you Thomas! Hopefully you’ll be weather didn’t put her off :)

That’s a shame. Looks like you might have to start up a states side parkrun yourself :) if you visit Europe anytime soon, you’ve got to try one

great video - lots of christmas sweaters! I run the Calgary - Nose Hill park run !
I fancy this on NYD. Nice concrete surface, it’s been raining so much in East Anglia over Chrimbo and loads of courses will be mud fests
It’s a great one! Quite a challenge up the hill but fun nonetheless
Merry Christmas Ben and family
Thank you and to you too

Merry Christmas Ben! Great video as always.
I saw you yesterday at the Fast 5k but didn't get the chance to speak to you. Well run by the way 👍🏻
Thank you Steve! Merry Christmas to you too, the conditions were horrible so sorry I didn’t stick around at the end :)

I’ve not done the clacton one so must of actually been Ross! Thanks for following along
@@BenIsRunning No way! I reckon there are triplets out there 😂

Merry Christmas Ben!
And to you Mikey 🥳
Oooof are there not loads of collisions on this route?? Oncoming traffic and bollards?!
The marshalls keep you safe at the main squeeze points :)
What type of camera do you use, Ben? Thank you very much!
I use an insta360 go2
@@BenIsRunning Thank you!

Great video as always but can't believe you didn't run with your sister on her first parkrun 🤦♂️

Christmas is also my birthday haha
Hope you enjoyed both!!
Which volunteer role have you enjoyed the most?
Videographer
Keep it real ben..tragic vlog..lol
😂 thank you
First😂😂🍻
Is this a pb for you?!
@@adamtick all that training was worth it 👇
Congratulations!!!
@@BenIsRunning looked like you had a fab Xmas day Ben🍻
@@ThatRunningGuy i certainly did! Hope you had a good one too!
This course seems like a nightmare. No chance of PB, too dangerous
Agreed, there looked a few spots with the potential for a head on collision with someone cutting the corner🙈
It’s not a Pb course agreed but the marshall keep things safe. It’s not every day you get to run around Roman remains and a castle 🏰
Agree on that, aside fellow runners coming head on, nice selection of those nut crunchers to catch you out.
I've run this course hundreds of times & never come near to having a collision .
