Happy Holidays to you and Mrs. Truckmaster and your family ! The cab on Pvt. Pile... dump it...sand blast the frame, box in the frame... beef it up... build up the drive train clean up the engine and transmission and transfer case... get all that, suspension etc. done... as for a body... here is where you can become creative.... shorten the frame and bed, go to a dually conversion, put a whole different year model bed a cab ... older .. much older... power wagon... old square body Chevrolet... allow your creative Truckmaster mind to soar... all on a great rebuilt frame, and drive train. You have a blank canvas... you have a great foundation... now you just need to paint the masterpiece !!
Merry Christmas Josh and family hope you have a great day filled with fun and laughter. Got my DK Engine Parts Intake Bridge today for my LML I'm almost done with the install. Next is Air Dog lift Pump.
The ambition and motivation of you tackling something unknown to you is exactly why I want to see this build because it inspired me to do the same with my own truck.
Love that rollbar stack!!!!..never moved when u flipped the box over.....probably would of held the whole truck up !!! 😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣🤣 Also ...nice wrap & light job on old red!!!!!! LOOKED SUPER SICK!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
This is just a thought you can get a whole truck box cab front clip from Texas a lot cheaper and nicer then have to fix the one you have and save a lot of time and money. There's quite a few people here in Michigan that sells Southern truck parts. Just a thought
Screw the money. Keep the original cab and put out some badass videos repairing it. Your channel has been my favorite channel to watch ever since I found it about 5-6 months ago. Love your style of just get it done right
Tack some plastic to bottom of garage trusses. It's dirt cheap, easy and will retain a lot of heat. Ideally throw some R13 insulation after but just plastic will help
Josh if you have time to wrap your truck then you have time to fix your mirrors! Lol. I like that you were in the spirit of Christmas but you have mentioned fixing them a bunch of times and you already know how to do it. The truck would have looked nice in a Christmas parade all wrapped up and the lights.
I think the best frame for diesel trucks is the GM 90's HD truck, the ones with the 5 lug front wheels. Beefy, beefy frames, all of the GM service trucks and tow trucks in the '90s had these frames. You could tow some crazy stuff with them without requiring a CDL license. I'd modify the Dodge cab to sit on this frame with that built Cummins and you'd not be disappointed. Can't for you to start tearing into this Ram and restoring it back to glory.
Hey bro I live in south eastern Michigan and I seen you have a ready heater heating your garage and if we’re interested in a more reliable/comfortable heat I do heating and cooling and I’m sure we could set something up. Just let me know man, I know how bad it sucks not to have heat in the barns in the winter time.
I know of a place in Muskegon,MI that gets rust free truck beds from the south and resells them.He is a little overpriced on them.I also know of a local auto salvage yard that gets Dodge trucks in a lot,my dad is good friends with the owner as well. The owner,he is a great guy to deal with. That year truck is still worth money although has a cummins in it.
I got stocks full set and also I’m doing the same thing you are, my frame was worse than I thought so I bought a 1500 frame rust free it’s identical other than it’s doubled along the transmission area but it’s easy work
Just watch the front of the frame up by the steering box there's a low spot in the frame where everything lays. I seen a ton of these 2nd gens rust out there most people don't even notice it.
You could put duramax stocks on it for rollers, and get rid of that cab, just doesn’t make sense to fix it. Ive been there. Frame looks pretty good, itll be a bad rig when its done
Anybody know what the wood burning heaters he was loading are called specifically I’m not from Michigan but I’m a Army recruiter here and I notice a lot of homes I visit have them what’s the heating magic behind them? Is the whole house ducted and get heat from those things??
If you all planing to keeping the Cummins I do the work you will have a new and better truck that you no is safe and could pass down to you kids they are growing up fast Merry Christmas and HaPpy new year to you and your family
You don’t have a problem until you have a 54 Chevy ton truck, a 79 K10, a 85 K10, a 89 F250, a 95 1500, and a couple of rotted out cars sitting next to a 50x50 scrap pile. Then you have a problem
I want to do that to my dodge 06 2500 mega cab i can find any one to do my rocker panels so i am going to just need to know what welder i need and other stuff
Can you do a video on your heat house thing. I’d like to see how to heats your house via piping etc. maybe do a video walk thru on it. I’ve never seen a setup like that. And I’m no stranger to living in the sticks
@@OldGriz708 yeah I’m in FL. Haven’t really been that far north in the sticks before. GA/Carolina etc yes. But not that far. But I definitely like that outdoors boiler setup. Seems like a good idea. Other then having to go load it when it’s stupid cold & snowing
Chevy had to beef up there frames because there earlier trucks frame always cracked by the wheel Wells in front. Would replace cab save you a lot of time and money 💰 will be a awesome truck when it’s done
@TruckMaster please put Jack stands under the truck every time before working underneath. Lost a good friend from a failed jack a few years back. He was a tow truck operator and would do scrap on the side then one day because of doing it so many times he put an S10 up with a floor jack to pull the catalytic and unfortunately the jack failed and he never made it out from under that truck. Would hate to lose ya to an avoidable accident brother!
Merry Christmas to you and the family. The frame looks saveable. As to the frame height vs chevy its all the engineering and materials. Some/ parts of frames are made of high strength steel. I believ chevy had that same frame till 2010 and 2011 to 2019 the same and 2020 is new again but close to the 2011 style. 2011 and up its more like the dodge but its boxed with but thinner thickness steel. I wanna say ram boxed there frame in 03 with the new style, ford didnt till 2017 pickups.i think ford had same frame from 99 to 2016 in superdutys. boxed f150 in 04. The boxed is more ridged but being boxed will rot from the inside out and being thinner metal then when they where c channels it wont take much rust to rot themout. But if u keep them clean in the winter they will last a long time.
Merry Christmas brotha to u and your family you said you've got some truck bed or back anything good I've got a 05 lly bed falling apart I need a good bed
Big money on this 1 every panel is trashed good luck hallas was the man painted some of his trucks for him dodge is the worst for rusting out but one thing they did that is good Is e coat there frames looks fun
Merry Christmas and Happy New Years everyone!
Same to you, merry Christmas
“I’m not gonna whistle’n diesel it or anything” 😂

I don’t know why but I love that wood stove/heater footage. Man wood gathering is a hobby in itself but I miss mine at my last house.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.. where did you get your rockers and cab corners from when you did your lbz
Merry Christmas from us here in New Mexico
Just got a new set of wheels. I'm in Michigan and you know how bad the winters are. What do you do to keep your wheels clean?
That skidsteer is a great tool brother!
At the floorboard is good in a cab I would do rockers and cap borders and buy new doors
damn, your doughter is exactly like your wife...merry xmas
I love your turbo whistle!
Ditch the Dodge and put the Cummins in a clean Southern truck like a square body or old Ford.
Restored its still a Nephson 2nd gen.
No joke! What a pile of trash. Take longer to fix it than just swap it out.
That frame looks really good for the age. Clean er up!
Merry Christmas truckmaster to you and your family! It would be a lot easier to just find another cab just because all the welds would be stronger.
Thanks
Your welcome!
