@@user-wm1tb7ji5t the screen door effect? It’s because of some digitizer layer in between the panel and the glass to allow for pressure-sensitive pen support. Idk why but it’s always more prominent on OLED displays I guess cause the panel is thinner.

Can you compare this to the Legion 7i gen 9 with the i9-14900HX, RTX 4070, 3.2K display, 32GB, and 1TB? I’m planning to get the Legion 7i for college, productivity/programming, video editing, and gaming
@@Namu4Life yeah I have the Legion 7i with me right now! Except mine is the 1600p display. The colors are definitely not as vibrant (nor would they be on the 3.2K since it’s still IPS) unless you get the mini-LED model then you’d have both brightness and high color gamut. The Legion’s CPU gets HOT! It cannot hit the full potential of the 14900HX because that CPU is just way too demanding and power-hungry for that chassis. The area to the right of the trackpad also gets pretty hot on your hands due to the 2-fan system not being able to fully cool every part of the laptop. Battery life also kinda sucks. I’m getting around 4-6 hours at the very most with all battery saving features enabled. The 4070 is good, but still nowhere near as good for video and gaming as the 4080/4090. And the fan tuning is a little wonky with the Balanced mode being way too loud for my tastes. And silent mode can even ramp the fans up at times. As for pros, the Legion is very sleek looking and has a nice glass trackpad and comfortable keyboard that feels a bit better to type on than the Zenbook. It’s not as premium feeling as the Zenbook, and it’s not the most “Slim” either, which is why I think they took the “Slim” out of the name this year. It’s bigger than the Zenbook in all dimensions, and thicker. But it is lighter so that’s a plus. It also has Advanced Optimus and Gsync for no screen-tearing and GPU switching on the fly. You also get a second SSD slot. So idk, for a college laptop, I don’t think I’d pick the Legion. I’d probably go with a Zephyrus G16, G14, or this Zenbook. Or even a 2023 Flow X16, and I have reviews for all of those. They all offer much better battery life, better fan tuning, and more portability than the Legion while all having similar or better performance in games and video editing.

@@Ch3CKP0INT. yeah you could easily get that out of the G16. Burn-in isn’t nearly as big of an issue as it used to be thanks to modern panel technology. Also the S-stripe subpixel layout makes it the most burn-in resistant panel you can get. All the settings they have on by default are a huge help, like pixel shift and the screen saver. Static elements cause the most risk for burn-in but doing things like auto hiding the taskbar and not having your brightness maxed out all the time help a lot. And if your game has an option to turn down brightness of hud elements that helps too

@@JoshCravesTech yeah it’s the 4080 model, the guy said it was on the shelf for months too. Oddly it’s missing like 4 screws for whatever reason. Ghelper works for me to some extent, like when switching fan modes, but you can’t adjust the fan curves. Okay I’ll try that thanks for the help.🙏
You mention in the video the display is 120hz, but the Best Buy link you provided has 60hz. Where do I buy the 120hz?
@@pooj223 the Best Buy page is incorrect! Idk why it says that. It also says it’s an IPS panel when OLED is in the name of the laptop 🤣🤣🤣
This is an awesome review and an awesome laptop! and definitely true about the hard to find part! I really wanted to get this laptop for a while but could never find it so ended up going with the proart studiobook instead, but still agree that this one seems better in some ways, especially with that 4080! 🤩
I have one if you would want to buy it from me
how would you compare it to a Macbook pro with M3 pro cpu?
@@michaelschneider3446 hard to compare since the MacBook will always win in efficiency, battery, temps, and fan noise. But this will win in raw power and definitely with anything involving gaming.

Bro can you please put up a review for asus vivobook pro 15 oled n6506 2024
Please review proart p16
I've had this laptop since January and it is sublime. You don't really notice the mesh screen and the dial is pretty useless. Apart from that it's brilliant and very fast.
@@kradcliffe for sure, enjoy it!
Actually came across this video before pulling the trigger for the g16 lol
I wonder if the 120hz vs the 240 hz makes a big difference
Also wonder how the dimensions differ between this and the g16
I can get this for much cheaper than the g16 4080 so its really tempting
Oh I forgot, can we actually install g-helper on this?
@@iamnoob-ep3tz yeah 120Hz vs 240Hz isn’t a huge difference but it’s definitely there. The G16 is also definitely thinner and lighter. But for the price savings it might be worth it! And no, unfortunately G-Helper has very limited functionality with this laptop. You can change fan profiles but that’s about.
Anyone tried upgrading the SSD in there’s looking at upgrading to a 4tb heatsink model will it fit
@@mitchellsx probably not with the heatsink on it. Just use one of those thermal pads/copper plates
Hey i was trying to undervolt my zephyrus g15 but coudnt find the settings bios version 317 checked everywhere on yt coudnt find anything helpfull
@@Ansm071.1 in my G15 optimization guide video I show how. For CPU (must be a Ryzen 9) you can use G-helper or UXTU, and for GPU you’d use MSI Afterburner
umm last year's i7 legion slim speakers (which were the higher end premium legion speakers) were utter dog water. I don't understand reviewers saying they are even useable. You guys are lying. They weren't useable even for podcasts. Gaming was laughably bad...u can't do anything other than laugh at loud at how bad they were they were literally shooting static at times. U don't use these speakers, period. U will become sad everytime u hear these speakers. The only thing worse i've ever heard are the wii remote speakers....let that sink in.
My zephrus g16 4080 2024 is so hot I can’t even hold it on my lap at all when doing anything intensive. I get about 2-3 hours on battery browsing and watching videos, about 50 minutes gaming on battery. Oof. Expected so much more.
@@noshut well then something is definitely wrong! That’s not normal at all.
When on battery you should be in Silent/Eco mode, Windows battery power saver, and confirm that the dGPU is off. Use G-Helper if you can. Sometimes the Eco mode might be stuck so switch to standard, reboot, then switch back to Eco. Other than that, you should be getting WAY more than 2-3 hours on battery and if it’s getting hot then that indicates that something is being processed heavily in the background.
@@JoshCravesTech what the hell is Ghelper?

The main and best thing about 2024 laptops is ryzen 300hx series. It's seriously impressive in performance, latency, and efficiency. It's enough to supercede all of last year's CPUs, especially Intel's
@@electricmiragemedia yep but no AMD+4080 or 4090 configs which is the saddest thing ever to see. Would’ve truly been one of the best combos for CPU+GPU
@@JoshCravesTech I hear the zephyrus g16 is being updated with the new amd cpu's
@@ShadowThexHog yes, I have one! Except there’s no 4080/4090 option there either. Only goes up to a 4070, which is criminal
