    First, I love the channel
    Second, I know prep work is important and you should wipe the shoe with acetone and sand it down.. however, my question is for a splatter paint shoe… should you still sand the shoe even though you might have some gray marks?

    • @DeJesusCustomFootwear
      @DeJesusCustomFootwear  2 місяці тому +1

      Generally speaking prep is super important because as we paint in thin layers we need the paint and shoe to flex together. This isn't necessarily the case with splatter, so I think you could get by with just ace toning. However at the same time even if there were grey marks you could likely cover them up with the splatter as well

    Awesome video again! I've started painting a few customs but don't yet have an airbrush set up. I ended up painting the inner lining/guts of a high top nike air force 1 with a brush with colour + too soft at a 1:1 ratio but it still came out a bit stiff. In your opinion is it always better to be using an airbrush for the guts? Thanks! :)

    • @DeJesusCustomFootwear
      @DeJesusCustomFootwear  Рік тому

      Yes, less paint will always be applied with an airbrush vs paintbrush which is ideal for sockliner application

    What’s good bro. I’m trying to get more clientele in with my custom shoe business. How do you feel about a promotion for something like that? How would you get someone to promote your shoes? What is a good way to get others to promote your shoes? Preciate your response 💪🏽

      Yes, but I wouldn't place any on crease areas. Use something like an e6000 glue

    Is cracking inevitable, no matter how much prep work is done? I've gotten to the point where sanding is getting heavy enough it's tearing up stitching, and roughing up the leather, so the paint looks lumpy.

    • @DeJesusCustomFootwear
      @DeJesusCustomFootwear  Рік тому +1

      Nope, you can try your best to stay away from the stitching. Just do it by hand with smaller pieces of sandpaper. However then other important factors would be paint application and dry times that could lead to cracking

    • @emotionaldemonz
      @emotionaldemonz Рік тому

      Ok. I'll try something else. I'm currently using a fine grit, but if I go at it too long, it gets too rough, and looks terrible. What grit do you recommend?

      @@emotionaldemonz where are you having your worst examples of cracking. he's had other videos where he talks about wear patterns. specifically where the shoes flexes and bends which is where you want to make sure you do your most consistent prep. i still have problems with eyelets.
