- NEW WEAPONS ARE OUT!... Srixon ZX7 MKII vs ZXi7 Irons
We look in to the cavity on the back of the NEW Srixon ZXi Irons for 2025 and compare them to the Srixon ZX7 MKII Irons from last year!
The weight on the back of the ZXi7 Iron has been changed and I talk about what that should do to the flight and see if it actually changes compared to the ZX7 MKII Irons
Love Love Love your review. Its a no BS honest review. I hope your channel blows up.
It's getting there hehe - could do with a channel overhaul I think to get it to look more professional at face value :) once people are in, they seem to enjoy it!
I’m in love with the ZX7 MKII’s I got from you - don’t see myself changing out of a srixon iron! Although the new shiny ZXI7 is exactly that, new and shiny….. tempting hahah
Shiny Tooooooys!!!! haha
Ordered mine here in Australia last week - now playing the waiting game for them to arrive
On the edge of your seat haha
Straight to the point with a comparison with the MKII's, great video!
Thank You Kindly :)
Great video. Just confirmed im going to buy the Zx7 nearly new of ebay
@@ab7047 nice!

Loved the video. Subscribed. Keep it up with the srixon contents!
Waiting for the video of fairway woods of zxi
Its a proper good stick ...In the works :)
Great review. Getting ready to pull the trigger. I have a set of zx7 going to order z forged/zxi7 combo with axiom shafts
Love that! Oooh that'll be a fun set of sticks!
Great review Freddie. I had my Zx7 MKII's stolen out the back of my friends car at XMAS. Time to look for a new set of irons.
Check to see if his auto insurance will cover that, although he may not want to put in a claim.
Ah man that sucks! Hopefully you get new sticks sorted soon!
Yeah, could up the premiums!

Great video!! Subscribed. Recommendation: try using a laser pointer or the mouse so the camera doesn't lose foxus. Fantastic video though!!
Good recommendation indeed ....Recording on my phone beforehand didn't change the focus like that! I knew it was a problem but didn't think to change how I do it 🤣
Cracking review Freddie I’ll stick to my ZX7 mk11 irons but am positive these will do really really well.
Not a Bad club to stick to... Marginal differences in the ZXi7 - Big change in the ZXi5 I noticed yesterday that I'm itching to test out!
Really looking forward to seeing that review
Love the look of Srixon
They are so clean looking! and perform great too
Actually Modus 120 in Stiff flex is also 115 gram.
I am still on my OG ZX7 with Modus 120 S, love them so much and no reason to look for another iron set for me. Even better is Srixon do not update their design so much the 4 years old ZX7 does not look aged next to the latest model.
Correct - Never is what it says, 114g on the Modus 120 ...although the DG Mid is actually 115! Different profile of shaft and the head on the ZXi7 still launched lower on a higher launching shaft :)
Yeah, ZX7 to ZX7 MKII to ZXi7, they're all a similar profile of head ...If your swing has stayed pretty similar and the fit was good in the first place ...You won't "need" to change
Last years VW Golf is the same as this years VW Golf, just updated lights and grill :)
I’m sure the differences are minimal. I have gen 1s and may upgrade mostly for getting a different shaft (PX LZ currently) for more feel and likely going combo on the 4-6 with zx-5.
Nice.. The shape and look of the toe has changed since then ... One thing I noticed yesterday as well... The ZXi5's have the tungsten pad in the toe like the ZX7mkII and ZXi7 now! Big gains in off centre hits I think there! ...ZX5mkII didn't have it
On paper the soles are wider on the ZXi7’s. Visually, do you see that between the two?
Can't notice it help up against each other! Potentially in the longer irons its more? 7i to 7i just a different shaft on the back edge
Great comparison….. next up Mizuno s3 against the I7? Have Mizuno rediscovered their mojo?
Oooh, I'll have to see if I can get my hands on some!
Nice Review! I'm interested in changing my 3 wood before the start of the season, are you going to be reviewing the ZXi fairway woods?
I will indeed ...On my to-do list!
Great vid as always, If i put some lead tape at the rear of my ZX7's would I have a cheap set of ZXi7's?
Hahaha yeah ...get that stuck on!! 😋
Shafts are same weight. Not sure why it says 120 but they’re same as the DG. The difference in yardage is from the DG shaft launching higher. Modus is mid low launch.
@@jaychu3850 The DG went lower... Lower Launch Angle and lower Peak Height - So the head might bring the flight below the Modus if the shaft is higher launching 😋
@ interesting
Would you say these are more or less forgiving than the P7CB? The back looks similar and the VT sole seems worth the try since I am a little steep
From when kyle had the CB's, I'd say the ZXi7's are more forgiving ...We switched him from the P7CB in to the ZX7 MKII a while ago as, at the time, he wasn't striking the ball well enough ...Now the world is his Oyster! (assuming you've seen Kyle on the channel hehe)
@@FredzGolf Nice. Good to know. Generally, I wasn't struggling with strike on the longer irons... it's just that the P7CB were kinda hard to launch high. Did Kyle go with full a Zx7 set or Zx5/zx7 combo?
@knee1499 I think it was just the 4 iron in ZX5 ...Eventually he didn't need that but made sense at the time (rapid improvements for him over 18 months - 10 to +1 hcap!l)
Would love to see the zxi 7 up against the mizuno S3
Me too :) If I come across one from a regular tinkering customer, I'll ask nicely to have a whack on camera!
10/10 💪🏻
Cheers bruh
I thought those Mid shafts would be like a lighter DG S300, but they aren't anywhere near the same profile. Really hard in the handle, and soft tipped. I'd love to like the ZX range, but the top line is too chunky for me.
That's fair enough, can't win em all :) What Irons have you got in the bag?
@@FredzGolf I have 3 sets. Ben Hogan Apex 2005, Taylormade RAC TP 2005 and Mizuno MP-32. I put those mid shafts in the Hogans, and didn't like them, so went with R300 standard across the sets. RAC TP look a lot like the new p& CB and those Srixons
@@TenPestershut one of your eyes and top line will be a lot thinner 😜
@ you make a good point about it not really mattering
Naming the previous model mark II ...LOL makes it confusing....or is that just me
Hmmm not sure what else to call them, that's their model:
ZXi7 --> ZX7 MKII --> ZX7
@FredzGolf it makes it confusing
Given they are Japanese forged clubs...and the Japanese are known for samarui swords...name them after that
Silly numbers and letters just confuses everyone..
At least callaway has names each year so there is no confusion
@@nevvanclarke9225 Fair enough, I can't get in to their marketing team hehe... New stuff is ZXi variations
ZX7 use S25C steel VS ZXI7 use S15C steel
Good to know! It came up on Instagram the RTZ wedges are a softer metal as well!
@@FredzGolf I think RTZ is Z-alloy which is less dense vs S15C which is softer.
I will stick with the original zx7 hand forged by endo
Tidy clubs!
@FredzGolf maybe my clubs last longer then others cus im in Canada and only get to plau from May to the begining of October, cus i see alot of people talking about getting new irons every other year. Maybe their grooves wear out. Driver i kind of get it as a little less spin or a little more forgiveness or a little less draw biased is big help on drivers, but irons i dont understand people changing them all the time
@@CanadianBiPolarBearas they say in the UK it’s to keep up with the JONES
“Mis read it” 💀💀 utter stripe show lol
Cheers bruh :P
Random question, what ball do you use for these tests?
They are Z star divides or Z star divide XV's
@ that’s what I’m curious of, if there are the regular z stars or the XV. Thanks!
Z Star DIVIDE :)
Can't get the Z Star XV DIVIDE in the UK that easily! Just the Z Star DIVIDE on these tests :)
@@FredzGolf thank you!
