Пару замечаний от человека который пользовался разными молотками:
- не делать на рукоятке лишних ребер так как это способствует мгновенному образованию мозолей
- если очень хочется сделать необычную форму форму рукояти то можно поиграть с изогнутыми немного рукоятями - они реально делают молоток удобнее ) и не стоит делать держак массивным - рука быстро устанет за него держать )
- не делать громоздкой часть возле железа - это уменьшает возможности молотка работать со сложными деталями (может цеплять другие детали) и ухудшает динамические характеристики ( E =mv^2 )
- клин по моему мнению лучше делать либо диагональными либо накрест (если смотреть в торец рукоятки) тогда рукоятка будет держать не только боковой поверхностью, а всем периметром.
тоже от безделья хотел заменить старые ручки на молотках, спасибо за совет.

Handles look beautiful finished, what species of wood? I was thinking Ash, maybe.
Surely , milled down or not this is way better than leaving them to rust away in a drawer.
You're smart to use power tools, especially the milling machine in the beginning. My SMALL comment is the handle for the middle-sized hammer seems bulkier/thicker/heftier than necessary, as if out of proportion to the delicate head. Anyway, your carved-out recesses in the sides of the wooden handles sets you a cut above many others. Well done.
That's the only criticism on here that I could second. (The rest seems bitter and nitpicky.)

UK Tony That’s not restoration , that’s desecration. You have removed all signs of age might as well buy a new one. A vinegar bath would have been much kinder to the tool.
I have to say, this rage on youtube for polishing hammer heads to a mirror finish is very strange. A hammer is, after all, a rough tool that is meant to be struck at one time or another on all surfaces, and in most workshops and construction sites it is the tool that is most likely to be thrown down, dropped, used as a fulcrum for a crow bar, etc. I wonder who thinks, "Whew! Glad that job is done! Now I will have a shiny hammer forever." Carefully spray it with lacquer and hang it on you living room wall in a safe spot.

You don't need to sand inside of the handle hole. Probably better if you don't. Having a slick surface to slide off the handle is not a desirable result, and you don't see it, either.
