I am a really old, old man! My advice to you (although not asked for) is to cut all the firewood you can .You're healthy and could easily cut more than you do. Stacked and seasoned firewood is better than money in the bank. As inflation continues to raise its ugly head it will sell for higher and higher prices. That reservoir of assets will serve you well when you need it most... btw: I really enjoy your videos...
The Ol 500 worked up that limb wood pretty good😉 Apparently you couldn’t hear me or you’re just too stubborn to listen... I kept hollering for you to get a block ready to chock that log as you rolled it! lol. That big stuff is definitely a lotta work, but it pays dividends once you break it down! Bless’ns Brother, Tedd
Impressive Scheib!! That's some big wood to be man handling. Is it worth the time and effort dealing with the big ones or more productive sticking to the 24" and under logs?
I know what your goin thru . You watch any of my videos yet. The big oak logs I got wow what a workout. I bought a load of locust during winter it was good and it was cheap 200.00 bucks . Got it all buck and split up with pewny troy bilt splitter lol . Been working on a maple tree logs just need to split . Yup old man had a maple taken down . Sold alot of firewood last season made out ok .
Nice wok wrestling those logs around, there is a ton of firewood in them but its a lot of work getting it broken down. As always the 500I is beast, it didn't hesitate a bit with entire bar hurried in that oak.
Good watch. Less bark on the wood you get out of each round. 500 sounds like its runnin good, but it's over matched. You need something that will pull a 42-48" bar. I got a 076 super 48" bar that I keep around for a few big ones I run into. Might be worth your time to look for a decent 084 for the big ones you run into, thats what the Big Block saws were built for, then you won't have to climb back and forth on your logs. Might take time to find one, you know a lot of woodsters out there that can help you look. You get your hands on a decent 084 you will never let go. Thanks for video.
Wow Scheib big wood indeed. The 500i did awesome. I wanted to help you so bad on that last log. You can so close a few time but just couldn’t get it to roll. Hope you drank a nice cold one after that. 🍻
Great video. And the 500i is a great saw. But ill tell you this, the day you buy a 25hp tractor or bigger, you'll be saying the words I said when I got my jd 4120, why didn't I try getting one sooner. Once you have one you won't wanna go back to this. Cheers.
I wish I life around the corner , I’ll sharpen your chainsaw with a file . Good on med log see now want side off chainsaw is sharp . Your right side is easy to sharpen , left side people don’t push as hard . Buddy it’s all practice, went you get a couple hundred cords under belt . Hey keep up great video, think safety around wood yard . Take from me chainsaw can bite .
Time you get message to late , take your chainsaw cut across . Them can’t hook can stick into the log . Hey after this video, enjoy a good cold beer . Hey your own cut fire wood , won’t see it’s in 16” length . Own time need to straighten went send log to mill , make them look good on back off semi trailer . Them get trim and straighten to before we buy them . Don’t worry about little things , come out in the wash , just don’t get hurt is the top #1 buddy .
Those look like ~30 inch logs? 300 pounds per round? I cant remember seeing any UA-cam videos tackling chunks like that for firewood. Be safe, careful. Impressive!
Hi Scheib!!😀😀 I'll take that challenge any day. I'll have to try and get some large logs like those in my yard. It just takes practice to get them right. Take care my friend!!😀😀 Logger Al
I shoulda known you’d be up to the challenge! How’s Logger Al these days? I was think’n about you just last week. Thought, I should send him a message and see how he’s doing... And as usual, I put it off and got sidetracked! I’ve got a couple of monsters down at the farm, don’t know if I can get after them in time for the Challenge though! Bless’ns to ya, Tedd
@@sawsurgeon Hi Tedd!!😀😀 How's it going my brother?? Things are about the same as they were the last time we talked. Winter just doesn't want to give up on this side of the lake. first i came across your channel just wondering what state you live in and i have two canhooks a good one and one like your using i dont even pick that one up but nice wood good job iam from north PA. and i gave you a sub and thumbs up
how long does it take to get that red oak ready to burn, had a few cord in a walk in shed and it took 18 months and was still a little wet, getting a load soon and going to try to stack it outside, maybe covered on top, thanks
Check out my video buckin a monster chopping block on my video it’s a super straight cut with an old worn out chain… longer bars really make a difference in big wood… nice video lovin that 500i!!!
Not hard to cut streight if you can sharpen a saw!! Your working the saw how bout letting the saw do the work! You will find it easier to cut one side then move to other side the role and finish. Deff not going to eat and ware all the saw dust and work your back and saw to death.

Those rounds are like a few girlfriends I had in college. It's allot of work but totally worth the effort!
That saw is finally in it's element. With a 25 inch bar it is just amazingly fast.
Those are big rounds .now to get them on the splitter!!!!! Congratulations on the 5 k
Good work! In my opinion big wood makes the cleanest best looking firewood.
I agree. Its no harder to deal with than 24" wood.
Scheib, nice cutting always nice to have a sharp chain
Thanks senior sorry I missed your call 🤘🏻🤘🏻🍺🍺
this COULD be the most impressive 500i video I've seen
When you got the last big log rolled i cheered for you. Those monsters are work, but a good pay day.

Those are some huge Load, nice work Scheib 💪
Yes they are!
Looks like that 500i is doing you good
Scheib, you are a Beast! I think a longer bar would help cutting it straighter, but it might be your eyes! lol
I was thinking it was the beer! 🤣🤣🤣

Some BIG stuff there Schieb! 500i is a ripper!
You looked like you had a lot of fun cutting that up. Definitely a work out.

A whole lotta work, a lot of firewood.
Nice solid wood, huge rounds. Great vid. Thanks. Chris - TheRuralProject.
You have to have some logs like that, ready to go when I bring the mill up. It may be big for Sam's mill, but the LT35HD can handle it.

I have the same issue with keeping the cuts straight. I think I'm forcing the saw to much.
I want to run a 500i one day. I watched a video where a guy Pit 70cc range saws on a dyno and the 500i was the only one that beat my Makita 7901.
Good morning from Piqua Ohio. Hey Schwinn, will your log hoist on your log splitter lift those big rounds?
Nice wok wrestling those logs around, there is a ton of firewood in them but its a lot of work getting it broken down. As always the 500I is beast, it didn't hesitate a bit with entire bar hurried in that oak.
Hard to cut straight but worth the effort as long as I'm not too far off, I feel successful. Have a Safe Day

Dang Scheib your going to get a lot beautiful firewood out of them huge logs!👍🍺👍🤘
Bet if you started with the biggest one first your cuts would have been straighter. As chain get duller your cuts go catywampus!!! Lol! Great cutting!
I tell you what, from someone that has cut a LOT of big wood (and split it) it's not easy keeping it straight!
u may need a 28 or 32 or 36" bar on that 500 i thats sum massive wood there

That is some big wood and I just want to know how you loaded them on your truck? Good video and the 500i definitely owned them!!
The guy loaded them in the trailer with an Avant

The noodles I give to my uncle for his animals the saw dust just gets dumped in the woods
Hard as he'll to make straight cut lol
Did you have a tree service drop these logs off? They are huge!

16 inch as far as I know it’s the standard.

scheib stacking wood is a waste of time.......make bins out of pallets like inthewoodyard
