Ap irelia is always a go for in aram because:
-Aram players are less likely to give up if you play off meta, in fact studies have shown that when aram players see a teammate go off meta they get encouraged to go off meta.
-Ap irelia struggles in lane, but excels in combat, wich is just the kind of champion you wanna play in Aram.
-It's funny to watch 5 full ad champions try to kill you by using up all their shit but fail because of the stupid 120% pd reduction
And get blasted by your teammates.
Overall: ap irelia is a great Aram pick.
I don't know, I feel like this used to be the case. I've had a lot of aram players ping my off-meta items immediately and even ff/inting/going afk, regardless of how I perform.

Arena was fun, but there's nothing like a good old summoners game. AP Irelia is obviously kinda crazy. Just like AP/AS Volibear, his passive scales with AP in both damage and attack speed. It's perfect!
