Breaking news: GW already making another Kill Team box set before releasing the previous one
At this point KT is basically an alternative method to release 40K kits in a big box so people can spend more money. It works for GW but does it work for players?

Stingwings is the existing name of the Vespid unit in the Tau codex

Vespid Stingwing is what a group of them were called in the Tau Codex. Thr leader wore a helmet because he is being controlled by the Tau.
The Vespid wearing a special helmet is usually the leader and it also acts as a language translator because they lack the appropriate vocal chords to communicate with Tau.
I remember that lore bit, I always liked that in universe there is a suggestion it may actually be a mind control device disguised as a 'let's work togheter my friend' gift

It makes sense for a new edition. Fly rules are very sparse. And most importantly, Warcry, 40k 8th, 40k 9th, Kill Team 2017 and from what I hear AoS editions as well have all had 3 years of existence. Its 2024, so the math checks out that a new Kill Team edition will come out this year.

i am going to call it now death korps combat patrol will contain:
1x character model
1x command squad
2x infantry squad (designed to replace the killteam in the long run)
1 to 2 squadron of death riders (either a new kit or rough riders with upgrade kit)
Kill Team Chalnath came with a book with the new rules so its not a new edition just the book to explain the new rules and some lore
True, but GW seems to be pivoting away from needing multiple supplement books throughout an edition to remain current. So would they do that again?
Mortals and daemons of the same faction in a codex make sense (this is how they do it in AoS) but a fatal flaw with that rumour is that surely Be'lakor would be in the CSM codex as an undivided daemon, and I don't think I have seen anything about that.
Could be that Belakor can be brought with each of the Chaos factions. Kinda like how Nagash in AoS can be brought in any Death army
My guess is that they will either publish an index detachment for Belakor and his followers specifically, or they’ll publish a detachment he can legally join in one or more of the codex books.
Hard no, Chaos Daemon players are heavily playing on their own ansld neither Marines and Daemons want to mix in like the old Khorne Daemonkin codex of 7th edition. Does GW want to piss off both sides?
Vespid Stingwing will make a great addition in to the T'au army.

Re: Chaos Demons: likely they will have, say, Death Guard versions of Demons datasheets, and Chaos Demons version in the actual chaos demon codex. Then allowing datasheets to synergize with the "god" codices, while being able to cost them differently/have different abilities when taken as demons.

Comcerning your question abou flying in Kill Team: There is a FLY keyword that works similar to the one in W40K 9th edition. But the Harlequins, the only kill team in which all operatives have fly, has recently been nerfed as this ability is too strong on the current Bheta Decima terrain. So I assume having all-FLY kill teams in the future may render all the older kill teams obsolete.
Speaking of Bheta Decima: Theoretically, there should be another Bheta-Decima based Kill Team box after Termination to complete the four-box-cycle of the third season. But as I've heard the terrain is quite unpopular with TOs, so maybe GW pulls the plug on Bheta Decima prematurely.
Assassins would make a cool kill team. Keeping fingers crossed for good things regarding IRL stuff 🤞

Vespids have always been Stingwings as their combat unit.

the helmets on sting wings i believe help the tau talk to them and also apparently makes them more loyal to the tau empire through conditioning etc.

I collect both Guard and Tau so this would be perfect. As excited as I want to try to be, I doubt I’ll be able to get it on release. I’ll look forward to being able to get the individual kits a year after release
With the latest Kroot release, Tau have most things in plastic now - save for the Vespid (and the Firesight Marksman). Hyped for plastic Vespid.

Nothing so far, I think they will be towards mid-late 2025, hopefully sooner!

I wonder if these scions will be different than the existing ones? Maybe jumppacks instead of grav chutes? Would be very nice for scion heavy armies and the guard in general could use a jump infantry option since thats almost the only infantry type they dont have.

From what Can you roll a crit was saying is that the Octarius set is no longer being sold by GW. That was the main kill team terrain for this edition. So it would make sense that this new set would be released with the new edition that is supposedly coming out this year.
Instead of a new edition of Kill Team, it could simply be an expansion with additional rules and/or a new game mode. Kind of like Boarding Patrol or pretty much any recent Necromunda box.
My monday is complete. Now when is the next codex calender being released.
Tacoma event in July probably has a preview in it.

I've played a lot of Kill team and it makes a lot of sense. Currently the Meta is far too based in heavy melee teams, flying units would mix that up quite nicely. It all sounds very plausible.

The harlequins used to be an all flying team, they were pretty broken for a while
You can run a full flying kill team at the moment. The only one right now that I can think of is Harlequins.
Speaking of Assassins, I would like a re-print of the "Assassinorum: Execution Force" board game. I missed the last print (all new copies out of stock and I am not into used copies), so I play it digitally on TTS. It's a pretty nice game and I would love a newly printed physical copy.

with the Daemons i think it will be that they can take units of that god as if they are a part of their codex.
so that they gain their rules.
we see the same in AoS where one slaves to darkness detachment can take Daemons as if they where Slaves to Darkness.
so imagine Nurgle Daemons in a DG army but benefitting with their rules.
Long story short yes. Harliquins all fly in their team I think. Some teams have fly units like my jetpack dwarf

Interesting theory on the Chaos demons being in god-specific CSM books, however, by the logic - would we have not seen undivided demons like Be'lakor or Furies as datasheets in the CSM codex?

I have a ton of Agents models that I'm seriously looking forward to using in full 40k. Any rumors on how those armies would be assembled I am super eager to learn about. In the meantime, Kill Team, Combat Patrol, and Boarding Actions are PLENTY of games in the meantime.

Maybe the rumour about daemons would ment that they will be in god specific CSM codexes in addition to their own codex? Like Khorne daemons in World Eaters, Nurge in Death Guards etc, but they still available in codex Chaos Daemons
There used to be a full flying team in Kill Team, because harlequins all had the Fly rule. They recently lost it in a balance dataslate because it was toxic af. Maybe the Fly rules in the new edition will be less powerful?
There are 2 Assassins who have yet to appear in model form the Venus and the Vanus. The Vanus I can totally see getting a model because they're the perfect leader for a small Assassin based force. Also an Assassin who's MO is entirely arranging accidents is going to be hillarious to play.
Venus will doubtless be a really cool model but rules wise I can't see them working very well, especially in an Assassin based force.
I quite like the existing assassin miniatures but it would be nice if they introduced some new ones. As for the daemons, it would really suck if they squatted them as a standalone army, however I never liked the idea of the gods working together
Is the new kill team still set on a Bheta-Decima? If so this is just going to add to the already insane amount of factions there. And we still haven’t gotten an AdMech kill team with unique models (I know hunterclade exists but that used existing models, not even an upgrade sprue)!
Yeah, i hope there will be an Admech Team for Bheta Decima, one of my BIGGEST hopes!
@@elysiontyhron6157 I also hope if we get a kill team unique to the planet they have their own color scheme rather than Mars red, since we could use more forge world colors, I don’t think we’ve gotten any new forge worlds since the AdMech first got their codex. We don’t have an official green, purple, or blue forge world.

little fun fact about the vespid stingwings the name of the species arent actually vespids thats just the name of the planet they come from and stingwings are the name of the soldiers its like if we called military soldiers "earth troopers" or something the imperium calls them stingwings while the tau call them mak'lor which means flying insect or something along those lines im really looking foward to the new kill team I love vespids so much!

Probably Death Cult assassins, if they're going to make an amount of the Inquisitor stuff plastic, rather than a new solo Assassin.
As excited as I am for new Vespid, I'm 100% certain that once again GW are just using Kill Team as a vehicle for new 40k releases. I always much prefer the bespoke teams that aren't just identically equipped models.
I'm trying to stay hopeful we see something unique for the Vespid, but GW releasing the Striking Scorpions and making some BS rules for mixing Aspects has me skeptical.
Er every single box has had one bespoke team and one team using existing sprues with an upgrade. But yes the bespoke team usually has 40k rules as well.
@@davidkimball5222 Striking Scorpions and Scouts, for example. They're just new sculpts that were already needed for 40k with Kill Team rules slapped onto them. Giving existing units KT rules isn't at all a bad thing, but I expect a box set to come with models designed with the game in mind, even if that does just mean adding ab upgrade kit.
@@Frosty-kz4om The Scouts are clearly designed for KT first and foremost. If they were designed primarily with 40k in mind there would not be the range of kit on the sprue. But yes, they are clearly duel purpose. If that gets us more Kill Teams I'm all for it.

I want to see a Beast Snaggas or Orks in general Kill Team. What the Demons of Chaos need honestly as a fanboy is upgraded units and newer models. Give the Demons fresh models. Their is so much room in the Demons range that you could add brand new models. The Range refresh wouldn't be that big ok. But their range needs love. Like the Orks for example

I just need them to not get sold out within a minute of them releasing to pre-order. I have been waiting for Agents, it's my main focus. I tried to get the the chaos boxsets and lost both of them despite hitting purchase only a minute after release. It is really hard to try to get into the hobby when I lost out on the Kill Team box and both Chaos Boxsets. The possibility on losing the agents one as well is frustrating.
Hope Archamus gets better soon.
I hope that daemon rumor dosent turn out to be true because that would screw over my word bearers in being able to take daemon allies meaning id need to buy 4 additional codexs...
They would have to get rid of Be'lakor. Maybe they are adding Daemons to the Mono-God but I don't see them getting rid of Daemons as a whole.
