❤ Dr. Lydia, Don't beat yourself up about the pony's murmur, if I recall when watching the buyout, when you were looking at him, you were called away to listen to Tawnee about the cream blind horse not adjusting. You did a great job yesterday. We love you.
I have known a lot of vets in my 40-plus years of horses and even was married to a large animal vet for 18 years. What makes Drs. Gina and Lydia so special is how much they care. My ex never wanted to give up. The HP vets are brave and kind enough to put pain above ego. They are the best. 🧤
So many requests here for shelters, rubber mats and a possible tornado shelter. All great ideas, but you know how to help them get these things... Make donations and specify what you'd like your donation used for! 🎀 Merry Christmas 🎀 Jo ❤️
So Hailey is also a tree gentler? Amazing woman! I love how much support & reassurance the vet team gives the horses as they examine them. After what those animals have been through, it must seem like heaven to them to feel a kind touch & a calm voice & know that whatever happens, they are safe. I've got my fingers crossed that the mare with the bad wound on her hock does not get an infection in the joint---the vets are due for a christmas miracle!
What a wonderful mare to just chill and let you do ypur thing. Wow. Intelligent soul. You guys do such thorough and amazing work. You give each horse every possible chance to make it.
The horse gentlers are doing amazing work! I hope they are being paid well because they are magic and help the horses move through the process at an amazing speed! Thanks for making sure the wilder horses have a chance too!
Haley, you are the best. You do it all as a good team member. Your resume will be large and now includes tree relocation with decoration mover. A Wow skill. Loved the full video. Full of the essence of a a truly caring group of people. The critters will never know how fortunate they are
BTW,im so happy to see Amber and Shane back to train/gentle the horses. Don't know what it is about these two,but they are fascinating to watch. Love their quiet gentle ways and shy demeanor ❤
I absolutely Love how your staff member Held, and Rocked, the pony’s head while he was being examined. A truly beautiful act of compassion and care caught on film.
It's nice seeing the intake barn be so helpful already. Hoping for the best for that mare with the hock injury. We've seen too many lose to joint capsule incursions. REALLY hoping this one makes it. I hurt myself laughing with Hailey leaving a trail of ornaments across the yard trying to wrangle that tree. But I mean it was MOSTLY successful. Right? haha
I have a request. Please build Dino and Cowboy an actual shelter where they can get out of the weather and the mud. They are permanent residents. This is not a gripe just a request. 🙏🙏
You ladies sure know how to have a good time! I did a lot of chuckling in this one. The moving of the tree was hilarious and the giggles were plentiful!! 😂🤣 Thanks gals! ❤️ Jo
I am OBSESSED with Garfield, he's such a sweet boy! ❤️ if I had space for a cat, I'd adopt him in a heartbeat! I hope he and all of your critters up for adoption find loving homes! thank you for all the wonderful work you do to rescue all these animals!
21:38 is my absolute favorite horse color pattern. Also what a good boy! So sweet! I'm sorry he's been painful for so long. He's free from it now though and got to go in loving arms.
We got hit by a Tornado twice. It was terrifying. Hope you all are safe. Tawnee, how's your nephew doing? Is he improving? All my love and best wishes sent your way❤
Hailey, that was the best...NEVER DENY THE PICKLES...what a great addition to HPS you are...best tree gentler ever...there's potential for greatness there...and you ain't too shabby with the horses either...good to see y'all havin' some fun, great team...!
Thank you for another great vlog! Hope the horses with problems will be okay. Thank you dr Lydia and dr Gina for your love and kindness, you are amazing vets, the staff as well! Looking forward to your next vlog 🙏❤
Awesome vlog as always, horse gentlers are always doing amazing work with these horses , and everyone else at horse plus do everything they can to ensure that these amazing horses, and other animals are well cared for. Oh yeah and the Christmas tree , I think it was probably thinking don't forget to put my decorations back on so im just as beautiful as I was before I was moved 😂😂 . Hailey , ur an awesome horse trainer but ur also a great Christmas tree mover to. All y'all have blessed Christmas.
Poor Hailey!!! OMG!! The go to girl! Moving that tree...take all the ornaments off and start from scratch! She did a great job in spite of it all! :D Love her heart, she's laid back and just takes it all in. Hailey, extra special Christmas blessings for you!!! I do love the vets how they love on each horse like it was their own special baby. Wish all vets were like that!!! Extra Christmas blessings on them as well.
Great job Haley moving the tre to the other building and you know she's picking on you about losing ornaments falling off you all know that some will fall off the tree so great job
There needs to be shelters for all of the animals to be able to get out of the rain. Especially this time of the year, the rain is cold. And then there's the mud they're standing in.
They’re horses, evolved to be in the open not in shelters or stables. My elderly TB had a lovely paddock with a stand of trees for shade at the bottom. I raced out (in my non air conditioned car) to check on him on a day when the temp was 45°C to find him standing in the middle, happy as a clam. His water however was hot enough to brew tea
I was just coming to say this. Some horses go lame from simply standing on concrete over night. I wouldn’t want to stand on concrete for hours , my feet would be sire to.
All Hail Hayley and the Christmas Tree race 🤣😂🤣 funniest thing I’ve seen in ages. Great intake video. I’m sad for the losses but cheered by the saves. Well done everyone you’re the Best! ❤
Cheryl's cookies are the best I have ever tried......well packed in individual wrappers. Super gift! Hope he mare with the wound makes it. Very sad about the blind pony, he was so cute.
Well, jeez guys and gals---you've got all the equipment you need to dig a nice underground tornado shelter, line it with concrete----put in some benches, extra batteries, flashlights, and some first aid supplies to BE PREPARED.
Maybe because horses prefer to eat with their heads down, it’s their natural stance when grazing. But I suppose a bit off the ground and out of the mud would be good.

Yes but at what cost? One of their biggest supporters and doners sadly passed away recently, they’d need massive funds for a project like that, if you know someone willing to pay for all that work, please ask them because I’m sure HP would be so grateful 🙏🏻
Yes,the drainage system will hopefully receive attention,as necessary for intakes done in adverse weather. TBH,I'm kinda leaning towards spending less of your funding on the education building, which I agree is very important, but non essential, until funding improves.

@@Kerri-not necessarily. My 2 have free access to their barn at all times and really don’t spend much time in there. Even during cold rain. It surprises me but 🤷♀️
Agreed, just because they are not in a shelter doesn't mean they don't have one. My girl lives in a herd of five with free access to a large shelter, but by and large, all five choose to be outside in any weather. I live in Ontario, so we get a huge variety of weather conditions.
Yes, with so much wet weather im sure mud fever is something the Vet team will be on the lookout for. Poor Dr. Gina needs a massage machine for that crick in the neck she gets from looking up at Dr. Lydia. Two great compassionate and highly professional Vets and not leaving out their wonderful back up team. Everyone needs rain boots and Equidry raincoats. There has to be a reasonable US version of this product.
Would it be possible for the thin horses and ones with thin coats to have blankets ? The chestnut pony is cute. I hope the nice mares leg will be ok. You all do a great job thank you.
I got goosebumps when you turned the camera and showed where the storm had a lowered cloud base... I have a personal fascination with these storms. And from my understanding,Tawnee, you were right on the money with where the you believed the tornado could form/be formed. Where I'm from in Kentucky and I'm sure in parts of Tennessee too, many storm chasers won't go after the storms we get. Hilly terrain and tree cover hide the tornado until it is on top of you. Downed trees can make it difficult or impossible to escape (or get help). We are more likely to HEAR a tornado coming than to lay our eyes on the cyclone. I would make absolutely 0 safety decisions based on the neighbor's assessment... He may have anecdotal evidence to his belief, and there may even be some degree of actual protection you are getting from the local geography. But there have been many times where this belief amoung a community has led to disaster, as people take their percieved or relative safety for granted and don't take action until it's too late. Many storm chasers can attest to watching tornadoes hop back and forth across or even barrel straight down similar boundaries that were previously reported to never have been crossed by a tornado. There are a number of storm spotting tutorials out there which are under 20 minutes. Might be helpful to watch some with all the staff and put together a tornado safety plan. I hope y'all are able to build a storm shelter soon!
Again,a reminder to look at the big picture of what can and can't be done in these cases. So many of the horses not only have medical issues, but no teeth left, and way up there in years. The Vet staff has to decide carefully where to allocate funding and supplies to all the horses, and do you really think its easy for them to make such hard choices? I wish human beings had such options when their quality of life is so poor. I've personally seen animals suffer way beyond what is considered reasonable,as the owners were being selfish and couldn't let go. Its about the animals not you,and your responsibility to do the right thing.❤
❤ Dr. Lydia, Don't beat yourself up about the pony's murmur, if I recall when watching the buyout, when you were looking at him, you were called away to listen to Tawnee about the cream blind horse not adjusting. You did a great job yesterday. We love you.

Hayley you deserve a big xmas bonus for damages and all the crazy things they ask you to do! Go girl. im big fan! ❤
Emily rocking the blind pony's head as though he was a baby had me in tears as least he was saved from slaughter.
Yay for Shane and Amber! Thank you for coming and gentling these horses. Grateful for your work and skills!❤

Dino and cowboy needs more two wall shelters

I agree . A run-in shelter, maybe with a panel on one side of the front so they can get out of the wind as well as the rain. Also, they are in mud.
I think Flower needs her nails trimmed. When the Humane Society neuters its animals (here), one woman trims all their nails. That’s cats and dogs.
Great idea- make the donation that starts off the f ding and sets the bar for others to match ❤
I was about to say the same thing. Plus them standing in that mud can cause mud fever.
Yeah, we gotta take care of their hoofs😢
Hailey is the best, the true fear of losing pickle privileges XD
