Fully agree on stock hub caps. Aftermarket wheels on vintage land yachts looks jankety. Wonderful car VB. Very well presented. The hidden radio is top notch!
The days when car makers believed in body lines. I love the lead sleds and the soft bounce of the heavy shocks gives ya a nice soft bounce like a boat on water
When I think of an Monaco I think 77 Dodge Royal Monaco, St Regis vinyl top, Brougham with the Diplomat package coupe, triple red , 400 cu in mill under hood. My Uncle had exactly what I've described above. Great Malaise era car.
It honestly looks nicer as a coupe. Hopefully no one turn it into the Bluesmoble, as there's hardly any stock ones left and the 1974 model year wasn't particularly made in high numbers.
The only guy I would purchase a car from!!!!! Bob is such a meticulous owner makes sure every vehicle he owns is up on all things needed to keep the car healthy
As a kid who grew up in the 60s and 70s these were everywhere! So iconic of that time. Lots of memories of the dodge and Plymouths we just took for granted at the time.
This 2 door version is no doubt very rare. I am actually shocked your letting this one go. Odd ball car the big 70s Mopars are all pretty rare now to see in good shape. Good luck with the sale!
I sooo agree about keeping it original - with pragmatic mods for safety, modern driving, and a few creature comforts discreetly applied. You present admirably in friendly, honest and just-the-facts fashion.
She's a beaut Clark. I've got a 74 Fury II 2 door hardtop. (a Canadian car). It was my fathers. 40,000 mile survivor. Also the 400 2 bbl. Sunfire Yellow, white roof and black interior. Love that car.
Hear that? That's the sound of a very thirsty Holly carburetor! "Land Yacht"..."Party Barge"..."Pimpmobile"..."Gangsta ride"..."getaway car". They all fit. This is one *smooth* machine, Bob. Those stock rims and black wall tires absolutely complete the look. More than one major UA-cam influencer has declared that these big cars are the next *big thing* on the used car market, so you are ahead of the curve, as usual. It'll sell well.
Love that Monaco 2 door, I never noticed how much the body line and grill are similar to Buick LeSabre (which is a good thing ). Not very many of these left.
I have been lucky enough to see 2 74' 🇲🇨Monaco's 🇲🇨 and one was a Bluesmobile sitting on the side of the road right outside somebody's property way up in New England in some Town named Reheboth
Love that car. I used to have a 72' Cadillac coupe de ville when I was 18. I miss that caddy. Very similar to your dodge. Blues Brother is my favorite movie even though it came out same year I was born. Love your videos Bob.
Even though I am a GM guy, I do like the look of this coupe and the little things you have done to it, like the larger than stock tires, upgrades under the hood and the hidden touch screen... Would love to find a similar Delta 88 coupe and do the same stuff. Sweet!
Thank you for this video, my uncle gave me a car like this in 2009 but with 4dollar gas then it had to go miss quality like this didn't know this level of quality wouldn't return....
That’s a nice car Bob like watches it’s time to let things go ive never seen the blues brothers films. I’m 64 but I do like cars .as always take care stay safe all xx from London ✌️
Grandpa had a 75 royal monaco years ago and he had to replace the fan switch several times from Napa but the highest speed would burn out like a set of points so he settled with next highest setting and stopped replacing it. Great car, 360 2 barrel holley, 4 door rotten green, transmission went, it ended up crushed. I was mad he gave it to a loser that just wanted a quick hundred bucks, found it at the local salvage several other cars on top of it.
That radio cover is a great idea and it sure is nice to have all the modern radio, GPS and phone stuff in a classic. I also see you have a real volume knob on your Kenwood stereo, guess you hate ones with out them ;)
I like! Paying 2k for the radio could have been avoided! There are Many radios that have Bluetooth & android apps, I watch UA-cam, Fb, & etc on my $178 dollar ebay radio! I am very interested I. Where you got your amperage gauge & how it's connected? Is it just ran to any 12v source?
The Monaco of these years still had just enough style differentiation from the Fury to give it a more attractive - and upscale - look. Unfortunately inside there just wasn't much difference anymore. Even the seat (Chrysler's "3 in 1" bench) could be spec'd in the Fury. The GM and even Ford offerings varied more. Rarely see the 2dr hardtops - and I'm always astonished when I run across its larger sister in the New Yorker 2dr with four roll down windows - most of those seemed to have been ordered with the St Regis opera window treatment.
If only I had the funds to buy it. I absolutely love those big old boats especially the old Mopars because of the comfort and smooth ride because of severe back problems which prevent me from being able to ride in most newer cars because the newer ones just don’t fit me right and put me in pain really fast
I’m in the same boat Todd. I’ve fractured my spine in three places plus a spinal fusion plus my right scapula is fused to my spine and removed 2 ribs cause they were shattered so bad they couldn’t put them back together. I have a 91 Jeep Grand Wagoneer that has been the most comfortable for me so far and it’s getting a new engine right now. These newer cars, I just can’t ride in them and if I do, I hurt so bad I want to go to the hospital when I’m done. Folks who don’t have real back issues just won’t ever understand
@@1982MCI I’m sorry to hear the shape you’re in. I had a 4 disc fusion, titanium plate and 10 screws done on my neck C4, 5, 6, and 7. C2 and 3 now needs it as well as 5 discs in my upper back between my shoulder blades which as you probably know is a high risk procedure and is done by surgical entry through the front to get to the spine. Then there are another 4 in my lower back and I was supposed to have surgery on those ones 2 years ago but it was postponed because of the pandemic. Then I ended up with an infection that won’t go away even after surgeries to remove the infection so my spinal surgery is still on hold. Plus there’s arthritis in mid to upper back. 15 out of 23 discs, so yeah I fully understand how riding in a newer car is literally a pain.
I own a lot of old cars, some of them being Deloreans. A lot of rear engine cars like Ferrari, are known for fires. So it is just a habit to toss a fire extinguisher in the car in case of an emergency. Especially when you are working with fuel. We replaced the fuel tank, the carb and put in an electronics ignition system, so when we were testing it out we had that in there. That one has been in there for about 5 years I think. It is always a smart idea to have one handy. I also operate large trucks, buses, RV's, etc. and when you have a lot of electrical things, you want to be safe. You never know.
Hey Bob I may be interested in the car. If I was to get it would it be possible to have you/your shop install vintage air in it? For a fee of course. I seem to remember when you took it to Vegas that it didn't have AC. Maybe I am wrong on that. I'm the dude on FB that you helped with RR stuff for me in the DMs. I have the black 2006 Phantom.

You really are a wizard, commenting 2 weeks before the video comes up 😁
That was genius
The days when car makers believed in body lines. I love the lead sleds and the soft bounce of the heavy shocks gives ya a nice soft bounce like a boat on water
Bob, you just need to keep your 1974 Dodge Monaco. You're going to regret it if you let it go. Believe me. Just keep it.
Thank you for keeping it mostly stock. Anyone can add wheels, LT-1 engines and so on, but its only original once.
When I was 14 my best friends father had a brand new 74 Monaco. He was a salesman and needed a good road car. I love your car its one in a million.
Really sorry about your mom.
This is definitely a cool car man!
I absolutely love the 2 door hardtop coupes. I let one slip through my fingers years ago and searching to find another ever since.
When I think of an Monaco I think 77 Dodge Royal Monaco, St Regis vinyl top, Brougham with the Diplomat package coupe, triple red , 400 cu in mill under hood. My Uncle had exactly what I've described above. Great Malaise era car.

That would look so cool with the slotted wheels and dog dish covers!!
Saw a Blues mobile tribute car tonight here in Western Australia, has the front qtr windows you talked about :)
Was it the same model? (I know when it's a "tribute" car, it means it's not really "screen accurate" to be a replica)
This would look even better parked next to my 76 2door New Yorker Brougham. Love C-body mopars

It was good meeting you at the 80’s cafe. Even though i scared you i think. Lol
70s luxury at its finest
Damn if I could get this to the UK I’d be all over this like a rash.
Sharp car. Hang on to it!
Great and original classic MOPAR. Thanks for the wonderful content. This will make a fantastic ride for someone. 😎✌
Hi Bob 👋 great looking car👍
I hear you man, I have a pristine 1974 Monaco as well...incredible cars & SO under-rated.

Show!!!! Is beautifull 2 doors!!!!!❤
Damn, I've always wanted this car. It is somehow classier than my 76 Cadillac DeVille. I hope it finds a good home.
No it's not. A Cadillac stood for success---in comparison, a Monaco was a peasant's car
@@justsumguy2u didn't they also have a caddy too?

Sick looking car.
Looks like he's really going to fix that dent on the Taurus.
beautiful old boat
Pretty awesome of you to put some solid money in a car thats not worth much. Looks like a nice cruiser.
What a gorgeous car!
It so beautiful, black beauty yes please. Thanks for the ride loved the sound of the motor , loved the video .💚🧡💛👍

Gotta love those B-Body Chryslers. I love that black . Weird Beard is fixing up a 72 Fury.

cool boat
Try opening the door when the car is aimed uphill!!
Beautiful car
Your right wheel.s look great
Man she's a butiful car and I totally agree .with you about the wheels I think it just ruins the car when they put those dumbass rims on it
Was it made before catalytic converters, so it runs good on regular gas?
good car oh even a monaco wagon too was made 2 door just as good. i like no post 4door and wagon myself.
My dad had a Plymouth Fury 3 from the same year.
royal monaco -still have the front bumper from one in the garage
