  • It was the kind of night that sent the entire city into a frenzy. Moments after the Browns clinched a spot in the NFL playoffs, fans spilled into the streets.
It's only the third postseason appearance since the team returned to Cleveland back in 1999. Their last appearance was in 2020, but since it was in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, many seats inside Browns Stadium were empty.
However, that wasn't the case Thursday night when the Browns beat the New York Jets.
"Yeah, I lost my voice ... I was screaming and woofing and going crazy and crying," one woman who has been a fan for 38 years said. "It was just awesome. ... I say it was Jim Brown shining down on us."
As fans celebrated, players were on Cloud Nine. This time, it felt different.
"It just seems like more and more people are getting involved," John Gendrich, who's attended Browns games for decades, told 3News. "More people want it."
    Lindsay Buckingham reports. --

Sorry for your lost. I hope my dad and your dad are watching from heaven. My dad has been a lifelong Browns fan and so am I. I bleed brown and orange. I grew up watching Brain Sipe, Northcut, Webster Slaughter, Brain Logan, Frank Minnifield, Dixon, Clay Matthew, and all the rest. Please remember he is watching in heaven. Sorry for your lost.

It is great to see our fan base. Have something to celebrate about. We have been through a lot, we've been talked about and made fun of, but things have turned around, and we have hope, and we have a winner in Cleveland.
    It's wonderful!!!

This year, luck's got nothing to do with it. We lost key players and still managed to win.
THAT is what's different vs. any past season.

In 2012, the Ravens entered the playoffs with Joe Flacco at 10 - 6. Nobody gave them a shot against the Colts, the Broncos, the Patriots, and even against the 49ers. They went on to win it all. I hope the Browns have that same magical ride this season.

This year DOES feel different. Just like last year, and the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that, and so on, and so on, and so on... But, yeah, it feels different.....
