Thank you for this edit. Reminiscing my dad's stories from his service in USSR. He ended up his career in late 80-ties, as a Colonel. Flew almost all this beasts, which are shown here. Mig 25PD, Su 15. Mostly Yak-28P( for 12 years). Passed away two years ago. Such videos remind me how badass he was)
Guarding the skies of the socialistic Motherland. IDK why, but videos about the Soviet Army fits very well with synthwave music. This is awesome, gave me chills, thank your for your work, comrade
When I was a kid, I thought Soviet jets were ugly and crude, probably because they always were the enemies in the games I used to play. Today I see them as the most beautiful machines that ever flew in this planet skyes. Sure, modern US planes may perform better than their Soviet/Russian counterparts, but for me, these machines convey a soul that no other can. Sorry for the bad english btw, not my first language.
I agree...I was always a big fan of the American planes because our airforce use them and that's what I was exposed to but today I admire the Russian aircraft and their amazing design.

Yeah, but it wasn't F-5 but F-4 phantom 2. The pilot's name was Gennadiy Eliseev, phantom pilots ejected and soon were arrested by soviets. Eliseev died. His regiment was named after him and Eliseev was awarded with the highest soviet military degree of distinction. It was 1973...
Soviet SAM missile systems... just weren't that good... Main interceptor aircraft that wasn't the mig-25 was just a repurposed variant of a bomber. Great montage though.
1) Not good? Just google SA-11 and SA-10. SA-2 was the main phantom spare parts supplier, and SA-3 shot down F-117. Was it just because of the fact that they didn't know it invisible, or because of how good SAM system and how dumb pilot was? ;) 2) This was the case in 60s, but MiG-25 in late 60s already started to displace Yak-28 and became main interceptor, migs were even made in larger numbers, Yak-28P production stopped in 1967. Migs were made around 900, Yaks around 450.
@@skyray5012 I agree SA-11 or SA-17 was revolutionary as SAM system. But its advantage lies in mobility basicaly the missile carrier have its own fire-control radar. I dont forget these were already using PESA technology radars no Pusle doppler.

Спасибо большое, очень приятно. Мой отец тоже служил, но уже позже, 1989-2009, Авиация ВМФ СФ, дослужился до подполковника

"Sure, modern US planes may perform"
it only seems that way because the US always punches down on countries that barely have a functional airforce.

IN THE USSR AND RUSSIA THERE IS NO CONCEPT OF BEAUTY, EVERYTHING WAS DONE ONLY FOR PRACTICALITY
