thank god someone is more interested about the music that Harry is releasing rather than someone asking more about his private life and being rude, it shows Harry has a beautiful heart and lots of patience. He lights the world.
I am a classically trained musician/composer, 62 years of age. Up until quite recently - actually, only a couple of weeks ago - I knew so little about Harry Styles. It was his performance of "Falling" at the British Music Awards that caught my attention. Since then he has won me over with his immeasurable talent, his humility, and how he does not place himself before Music; before the art he serves that defines him. Suffice it to say, what I am listening to here in this interview is the real thing; someone who would never sell his soul or settle for second best merely to satisfy the commercial imperatives of industry folk who focus more on making money than they do Music. His creativity is so directly aligned to the source it resonates volumes for me, and he will always have my unreserved respect and admiration as an Artist of the highest order. If Music is a manifestation of human spirit, then it appears to me that Harry Styles is one of the most humane spirits working in Music today, and his honesty touches my heart deeply. In fact, I have come to believe in him so much that I feel he may well prove the saviour of his genre. I cannot imagine the world of contemporary Music now without such songs as "She", "Sign of the Times" and "Adore You". Trust me ... given the time "Fine Line" will become the yardstick for all future songwriters seeking to find themselves through Music as Harry Styles has found himself, and that is no small thing! At such a young age, he is lighting the way for generations of hopefuls to follow. As a musician, though we are genres apart, I find great comfort in that. God bless him and may he go from strength to strength in realising his every dream. Thank you for uploading this interview. I would wish for everyone to hear it. There is no affectation here, just the reality of someone who knows what it takes to truly make a difference, and to express themselves accordingly. I am grateful.
Phillip Wilcher I am so glad you this...I now know I am not the only 63 year old liking Mr Styles. His Ballot "Falling" was so moving to every inch of my emotions...Thank you so much...Mr Styles and Mr wilcher.
@@cheryltipton3670 Cheryl, there is no need to thank me. It was this interview which occasioned my words. All thanks rightly go to Harry Styles. I share in your enthusiasm and I have been made aware this past week that there are many our age who feel the same way. We are not alone :) It's heartwarming. As I said in my initial comment, I am a classical composer of an entirely different genre - worlds apart - but I am genuinely anxious and excited to hear what Music next might come from him. My prognostic star shines brightly. God bless you, and thank you for replying!
I admit it! I'm a 60ish and find myself very appreciative of this young man's music. It takes me back to the 70s music and exposed me to "current" music as well. Thanks Mr. Styles. Especially since we're on lock down.
Tom Power on Q (and Zane Lowe) are quality interviewers. Harry shows such lovely insight into what it means for people to attend a concert.... it is genuine dedication from the moment you buy the ticket ... to getting to the concert (months later) and then not necessarily having the best seat or there’s a tall person standing in front of you! Nice to know he doesn’t see his fans as numbers.
This was an incredible interview. It was nice to hear someone who is honestly there for the music and not to hound him about the women in his life or past drama. Thank you for such a great interview, I wish it was longer 😊
Truly great interview...I love how this is a raw stripped down version of Harry. It feels so real and gives you a sense of Harry's true self. The interview is really all about Harry and bringing out what Harry's album Fine Line is about and from Harry's perspective. It does not feel evasive in anyway. I love how the process is talked about through and through. The interviewer helps bring out Harry's "real" self. Harry is an inspiration to many of us including myself. It's a breath of fresh air to see this interview. I love seeing Harry's realness and he is brilliant. Absolutely incredible.
Harry is the real deal. He is setting the new bar for this new decade not only for his beautiful music but for his character and classiness. He’s a breath of fresh air in this mean, terrible world we live in today. Love me some Harry. ❤️❤️❤️
I loved this interview. It was so nice that Harry was able to answer fully the questions about his music, and the interviewer allowed him all the time he needed without interruption. Harry is such an amazing example of a well grounded talented musician/writer with a big heart who has pride in his work which he enjoys.
Thank you for a thoughtful, insightful interview, I learnt a lot about Harry's creative process. And Harry's comment about the fans sitting at the back, barely able to see him really moved me, this man is so empathetic and kind. See you at the O2 Harry, both days, and yes, we're sitting way back but very happy to hear your wonderful songs live. All the love to you too xxx
despite what everyone’s saying about this interviewer being interested in harry’s music rather than his personal and dating life (which is true obv!!) it’s also amazing how the interviewer is so willing to listen to what harry is saying and how he doesn’t have to comment on his every word, he respects harry not only for his success but his opinions and stories behind it
As a singer/dancer/actor/writer, I revel in Mr. Styles’ authenticity and genius (which is mostly authenticity, isn’t it?). And it’s a pleasure to hob knob with other artists here who understand what art is, and are able to celebrate this Artist, who is outstanding in his generation, or any other generation, quite frankly.
It was a great interview. I just love how he openly talk about how he feels about his songwriting. Honestly, I have no idea how many things actually realated to songwriting, how much important it is to make songs with keeping all these things in mind at the same time.
Could have listened to this conversation for another three hours. Tom is an incredible journalist, asking insightful questions and leaving space for a fulsome response. Well done.
Great interview he is such an amazing artist hearing him talk so humbly about his music his fans his song writing he is an artist that will last through the ages! I’m a new fan but I’m so glad I’ve discovered his music he is a breath of fresh air class act and so kind.
Both of you are amazing😊 i love the discussion which is more of the music. I love how real and honest harry is and the more he talks and intelligently answers the questions, the more u learn about him and we can only admire how he loves music.. . And how humble and grounded he is! The interview revealed just how good a person harry styles is. Thank u Tom for that nice interview, u are so good too👏👏👏
Fantastic interview. Very insightful. Harry genuinely sounds like a lovely, humble and intelligent young man. Fine Line is amazing from the upbeat “dance” songs to the ballads. Love the way Fine Line ends the album. It actually makes me feel like everything will be okay. You can tell from the interviews he does that he loves music. He’s a fan of music and not just here to pop out a number one song every year. He makes quality music. I love what he said in another article about the type of artist you want to be (the one who’s dead, the one that’s on drugs, the one that just sings songs made by others or the one that’s true to themselves). He wants to be the one still singing music and performing in his 60s cause he can and loves it. His album didn’t make it to #1 in the UK but he’s been in the top 10 since it’s release in December
The fact that almost 5 months later it’s still on most lists says a lot about the quality. I find with streaming today the album gets released , the fandoms list to it nonstop the first week, ya #1 then the follow week drops down to 20. His album has stuck around. Also, he’s not collaborating with other popular artists just to be popular. The songs are all him. He’s just doing his thing. Can’t wait to hear more from this young man in the future.
Great interview wish it was longer. Loved the questions and the space you gave him to answer and you could tell he appreciated your thoughts on his music..
This interview means so much to me you don't get it, like a tear up a bit every time I heard it. My 11 yo would be amazed and if I told her than 9 years later Harry is even a better man and a better artist
I may be wrong, but I feel Harry was at his most vulnerable in this interview. He was himself. I worry about him....as a mother...I just want you-Harry...to be happy. In the end, your happiness is most important. Just be you. Just be you.❤️
sadly I wish going to a Harry Styles show was as easy as driving, parking and spending the evening, currently the tickets sell out in minutes and to go to the concert in my city through a secondary sellers is $700ish, I'm spending hours trying to figure something out :) but he's worth it, fingers crossed

Neither Harry nor the Interviewer sounded like they enjoyed this interview. Unfortunate because I’ve watched a lot of Harry’s interviews where he sounds joyous! This wasn’t it.
I found it to be the exact opposite. They both seem calm, relaxed and going with it. Was it like Harry on BBC1? No, but he here seems free in his conversation about his music.
