The correct term for those who accept Islam is Revert because everyone is born a Muslim. It is the people and society who then change them, so when they come back to Islam they "Revert". We've opted to use the word Convert in the vid (which although inaccurate is not incorrect) because its a word more universally understood and this vid is for a diverse audience.

I've been a revert for 1 year and the eid was true, really was lonely and surprised nobody invited me, fully knowing I'm the only Muslim in my family, and I felt it's rude to ask to be invited. InshaAllah I'll be with my brother's this year.

A problem you highlighted in the video is very important is, we expect new Muslim to be perfect Muslims straight away. Islam is a big change for people and we need to be patient with people. We have to give new Muslims enough information to understand Islam and not overload them with information, which leads to some being lost. A great quote by Shaykh Hamza Yusuf is "Islam is a marathon not a sprint." Smile2Jannah, Jazak'Allah Khair for the great message and video.
Absolutely agree. When I first converted I was so confused by the prayers and what to say when that I created flow charts haha. In no way did 20 years of Christianity prepare me for it!

Funny and great video. I am a "revert" and everything you say has happened to me. Lol. But to be honest when I go to the mosque most of the women don't even talk to me. And most of the ones who do ask personal questions I don't want to answer. It is hard. I do not feel like I fit in. I kind of feel more lost now then I did before! I hope this feeling will pass, Inshallah. :(
salaam are you a man or a women cause it would be a bit creepy for a man to always ask the women questians- all joking aside i think if you need help go to a alima because they wont just answer the questians about islam you need to know but will treat you with islamic charecter

I hope you will too in shaa Allah may Allah make it easy for you and don't give up, even if I were alone on an island somewhere and couldn't communicate with any human being I would still and always be a Muslim Alhamdulillah. Literally the first thing sisters asked me after I converted “do you have any tattoos!?! What are the haram things you used to do? Did you party and do drugs?” My family and friends don’t even ask me stuff like this. I was in literal shock. One time I naively confided in someone and they told everyone 😭 they also assume you’re stupid and know nothing about Islam. Although I’ve been Muslim for 4 years now, they still think I don’t know how to pray or do basic things. Other than that, I’ve met amazing Muslims who have helped me grow so much Alhamdullilah but there is definitely a need of educating our communities on reverts world wide.
Its mostly excitement and cultural stuff😂😂 so sorry u had to go through it! May Allah swt grant all muslims patience!
Please be patient some are just nosy, you don’t have to answer those questions. I Pray that all reverts meet kind, considerate and supportive Muslims who they can turn to and vice versa🙏❤️
I think religious journey is ALWAYS Alone even if you are a born Muslim trust me I'm a born Muslim n doctor opthalmologist and I can cite thousands of times I had to confront society ,family intellect etc to find the TRUE ISLAM ,take it as a learning curve and remember you came to this world alone n would die alone n spend time in grave alone so it's good you train yourself in this life itself

Not a religious man myself seems there always seeking to divide, but then over the years in my work as a hgv driver I’ve my so many truly humble and genuine people of the Muslim faith we’ve laughed argued and eaten together many times I’d stand shoulder to shoulder with any one of the Muslim faith for there right to live a peaceful life anywhere they choose

Now as you know because of technology and people being busy all festivals have lost that feeling which we used to have in 90s.
It's entirely up to us how happy we want to be. You can go and celebrate Eid with people in nearby islamic centre or how you wish.
Eid is all about greeting and eating with friends and family.

“Woe to the Arabs from an evil that has approached.” This sentence is part of a Hadith related by Al-Bukhari in his Sahih (authentic) Book of Hadith, Kitab Al-Fitan (Book of Trials), Chapter on (the Prophet’s statement: “Woe to the Arabs from an evil that has approached.” The Hadith is as follows: It was narrated on the authority of Malik ibn Isma`il from Ibn `Uyaynah from Al-Zuhry from `Urwah from Zaynab bint Um Salamah from Um Habibah from Zaynab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) got up from his sleep with a flushed red face and was saying, “La ilaha illa Allah (there is no one worthy of worship but Allah). Woe to the Arabs from an evil that has approached! Today a hole this big has been opened in the barrier of Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog)” (Sufyan made a circle with his thumb and forefinger to illustrate this). It was asked, “Shall we be destroyed even though there are righteous people among us?” He said, “Yes, if evil becomes widespread.” May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
Say this at the end of every prayer (before "as salaamu alaykum") to be safe from meeting the dajjal :
وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "إذا تشهد أحدكم فليستعذ بالله من أربع، يقول: اللهم إني أعوذ بك من عذاب جهنم، ومن عذاب القبر ومن فتنة المحيا والممات، ومن شر فتنة المسيح الدجال" ((رواه مسلم)).
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "When anyone of you has done his Tashahhud during Salat (prayer), he should seek refuge in Allah against four things and say: "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'adhabi jahannam, wa min 'adhabil-qabr, wa min fitnatil-mahya wal-mamat, wa min sharri fitnatil-masihid-dajjal (O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the torment of Hell, from the torment of the grave, from the trials of life and death, and from the mischief of Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal (Antichrist)."

The only difficulty I get is from people I knew from church and a few strangers. But I am going it solo mostly. The women here are busy and don't go to the Mosque which is only open Fridays and Saturday for kids. The only two women who speak English are too busy with their families and work. It's ok.

I came back to see the Guy thobe Design. That I wanted to make it similar to it for this Eid. I Had a good laugh tho. I could relate to it being a Revert myself.
Another one I'd like to add is don't make him feel like he has to abandon his culture (if it doesn't go against Islam)...You do not have to wear a jalabiya, kufi, and change your name (unless your name denotes some type of shirk)
