Liam McKay isn’t rly a great guy at all. He’s very endearing, charming, funny in a cheesy way, attractive, his sorrow draws u in to feel empathy and inquire, and again, very talented lad; writes some amazing tunes, but on the account of a few ppl and myself lol no, Liam is not the BEST person or even close. Some of us knew him before he blew up and he is probably a good guy at his core, but his fame bit him in the rear end and made his ego inflate. He is a defender of some pretty gnarly abuse and bullying as are his labels and a few of his mates. And it goes without saying that his music is brilliant, but the lad needs to get some nature therapy and learn to be kinder to ppl who aren’t as famous as him. Either way, he and one the label owners destroyed the life of a girl in the slowcore scene. Literally destroyed her life. And everyone watched it happen. Liam was totally complicit, even to suicidal demands and threats, and public defamation, insults, and their label even permanently erased the girl’s project from their releases. She tried to talk to ppl ab this for a year and no one cared except for a couple of her friends in the scene she still knows. And there were other ppl his label attacked and bullied who Liam ignored. Liam directly participated in the bullying. It’s gnarly stuff. Literally ruined her. It wasn’t just Liam either, the whole semi collective and HoP labels are complicit. We have screenshots of it all but we are keeping it private. We chose to delay any lawsuit in hopes Liam will grow up. Though we delayed statute of limitations by filing so we still can if this doesn’t get better. His reputation will be worse than Whirr’s if this goes to court and makes any headlines. It’ll ruin the lad. No one wants that so we just talk about it when we can. The things said to Luna esp recently are far beyond imaginable. She was told to off herself just last week. Over a year later? And she already made a new account and abandoned her project Paaste to start fresh. Liam is just evil. So are all of his friends. The whole scene.
