Richy I love you
Thanks for your sharing about my country I'm very impressed..... But concerned water issues you have in that hotel only happens there .... Light and water are constantly everywhere in Cotonou except if that hotel have they're private borehole and that's a good excuses they give you..... Water and electricity are 24/7 in Cotonou
2 talking about data ..... You can recharge your phone if you have an account like momo acc loaded with money .... let's assume.... In Nigeria when you ran out of airtime u either borrow or buy it from you bank acc so the Same way there too so isn't poor u didn't make a proper arrangements
Girl na wa for you OOO you are talking about sun if Nigeria has snow whether Nigeria and Bénin rep are the same where our Cotonou whether is even far better than Lagos cuz we even trees all over the place that help keep our environment but barely see tree in Lagos so are you complaining about hurts sun?
Looking at these serene West African cities with free roads, it makes us realise how tough living in Lagos can be. Lagos makes other cities seem so calm and friendly like holiday resorts.
Exactly. That’s what lagos does but then it won’t be fun when every country is same. Varieties are it😀
I miss my peaceful country 🇧🇯 thanks for visiting my lovely country but as for the food we have same food with yoruba people in lagos accept from igbo l love Nigerians soo much most of them here in south Africa are my friends
Dear Nonye thank you for your honest feedback on my country Benin more specifically my hometown Cotonou I think they should be a way for you to get data from phone without troubling yourself to go out. As for the food please try out other places they are many many restaurants where your tastebuds will be satisfied. Enjoy your stay in Benin
You are so kind. Thank you
This is a good comment... I was also like.. you should be able to buy data without getting out ... and foood is good in Benin.. just try different places and you surely can find a places that match your taste.. You are beautiful by the way.. keep enjoying Benin..

Thank you
I really appreciate your video. Thanks a lot for broadcasting this about the city.
2:23 agree, we're just 12 millions in the country and the density is around 106 persons per km2, and we do have good and very clean streets, even if it is not enough ... No stress here 😊
No stress at all 😂😂. Oh thank you for the update about the population. I didn’t know that
Wow! I am very impressed with your humble content. You've just earned my loyalty by way of the subscriptionn.
Thank you so much for your kind words
Cotonou and Benin in general are developing very quickly. It is the fruit of the good governance of the current president. But the food is very popular in French-speaking Africa. There are Nigerians in my house who like Benin food. There is the factor where the quality of food depends on who cooked it
Oh wow
I want to come to your country next year… how much does house rent cost
Nonye, your point of view on my country is very good, I'm from Benin and I just discovered your channel.. But a small thing that I want to precise is about the airtime.. I mean the Data, It's possible to buy your Data from your MobileMoney account, and most of people are preferring this option nowadays because it's very fast instead of go out and expect buy data like the former system.
That's why in Cotonou and other areas in Benin, you will notice that these types of shops are decreasing.
Regarding the food, I think it depends on the restaurants you have visited..
Good luck for your future venture and hope you will come back soon !
Awnn. Thank you for your kind words. Maybe next time I visit, I will find out more about the data thing
@@nonyerichy Nice !
Merci pour cette explication... I was about to explain her but good job bro
Hi Yemi, I’m thinking of relocating to Benin republic due to the dollar exchange situation in Nigeria. It is next to impossible sending money to the US via traditional banks except through black market. I would be grateful if you can tell me about the dollar situation in Benin, if it is possible to send money to the US via the banks and if so what are the requirements/limitations?
West Africa is changing for the better
Definitely
Discovered your channel today, I like your content tho……❤️✅💯 go sis

Am living in cotonu and this is very true
Waoooo Cotonou is very clean than ghana i dont go Ghana and Cotonou i like it very well everywhere clean light full everywhere 24/7
Yes you are right. Thank you
@@nonyerichy Why compared to Ghana? If Cotonou is clean that’s okay but don’t compare to any African country.
Yes, Cotonou is clean, beautiful and develop than abuja and Lagos. They even have 24/7 light. Aww I love the place already
@@dennisbrown7930 good morning and thanks for your contribution
you need to specify Areas or Sectors that are more developed in Cotonou than Lagos and Abuja, don't forget that the fastest growing city in Africa is Abuja. Thanks

Quite insightful... didn't think cotonou will be more expensive in almost everything. Nigerian Naira shaaa
True dear
I lived in France for a full year to learn French. That’s why on looking at the landscape of Africa - I decided I needed to learn French - that was 15 years ago. 😀
Lol.
@@nonyerichy checked on Google their population is too small. However there are opportunities in a place like that.
@@nonyerichy thanks for v the video - much appreciated.
I never considered Cotonou actually.
It’s normal that you see Cotonou is expensive. It’s due to your currency (Naira) that lost a lot of value. sometimes ago 1000Naira was equivalent to 2500Cfa. Haven gone to almost all the west African countries including Nigeria, I can say Bénin is not expensive. It’s just Naira that has been devalued.
Oh well,
True
I agree that naira has really lost value but let's be honest here Cotononu is expensive. The value of naira and franc CFA is almost the same so why will prices of things be higher than in Nigeria.
@@onipriscilla6648two reasons explain that.
The first remain the depreciation of Naira. I stayed in both country. For Nigerians living in Nigeria, they don't really feel the effects of the depreciation of Naira, because they consume local made products, which doesn't really change. At the minute they will cross the border, they will have to pay almost twice the price they know in Nigeria due to the depreciation. Why does Nigerian find Bénin very cheap in the past? It's because their money was strong and when they bring few Naira, they get a lot of CFA. I know some schools that used to send its students in Benin for french classes, but since 2018, some of them stopped. Because for the same standard of living, they will have to spend more (Naira). Which make it very expensive from the view of someone in Nigeria. It's not that Benin has changed alot, but it's your currency that has changed.
The second reason is the inflation in Benin as well.
Yes i admit there is inflation lately in Benin, and things became more expensive even for Béninois. Though, even with that if Naira was not depreciated, the Nigerian wouldn't find the cost of living in Benin outrageous.
When I was in cotonou 1000naira was 3500cfa
Nigerians Nigerians Nigerians please stop running here and there. Stand up and join hands to build your country. Create social groups to clean sweep your streets and roads. Stop looking for ready made environments. Start talking to your government.
Well
Exactly..😂 The whole continent is laughing at them😂😂😂🤡
Keep quiet
It is not the job of the youth to clean the country, it’s the job of the government to employ people to do this with tax payers money. Am not going to leave my work to clean the country after paying taxes 🙄🙄🙄
I no blame u .. nah money wen yu no get..
Sister Benin republic is one a peaceful country to live in, am a Nigerian living in Benin Republic pricisly djougou about the data is because u don't have the sim or u have not open ur mobile money account, u can recharge true ur phone, u can use WiFi if u have it so Benin its nice place

pls Cotonou is like Lagos in Benin Republic, about water if u want to really enjoy water go to the village like possotome village, water is free there is falling down is 24 hours, clean water and good also to drink, that makes everybody coming to their to visit it, try to go possotome in Cotonou not far from Cotonou
Cotonou is very beautiful city and safety place to live which I have been there for several times and I just love their life style
True
Good video. Cotonou is typically a business center just like Lagos. People go there to buy cars and thier fabrics because they are relatively cheaper there.
Yea right
Thank you for your feedback.
In my opinion, before you get out any meal, you need to decide what type you food you feel like eating.
Then you ask your guide or around you the following questions:
Where to eat for exemple
- where to eat fufu and ground nuts soup
- .... Eba and pork soup
...... akassato with moyo
....... their hologram rice
...... barbecue fish with attieke + amino
........ telibo and okra soup
.......... European foods
........... beans foods
.....................etc........
You really need to decide what you really feel like eating that time
I think it will be much easier
Lol. Thank you
Keep making vlogs, you have very good content. To me you remind me of Tayo Aina,Wode Maya, Luido Liu. Madame you are good

I second. Their data bundle is very relatively more expensive their here in Ghana. Their food is nicer though. I do not know where you ate from.😁😁
If you can eat yoruba food then you won't have problems eating there's.

Hello sister good afternoon, thanks for the message and letting us to know things about kotonu . And please if you want to rent a house in that place how much comparing to Nigeria and if you like to buy also please do let me know thanks very much and God bless you dear.
Thank you
Food in Bénin isn't very different from Nigérian food. In the 2 countries, we eat egusi soup, ogbono soup, okra soup
Well, I think it’s different. Benin food is tilting towards ghana and Togo dishes while Nigeria kinda has a total abs entirely different food
It is different o. I've been in Cotononu for some months now and I don't like the food
Thank you so very much, let educate this disappointed utuber, this girl is a disgrace. What's the difference in food from Nigeria, Togo, Benin, ivory coast and Ghana? We all eat okro, egusi, pepper soup, fresh and dry fish, Gari and more, so madam promote your own.
About the water i wonder.
I used to live in Porto novo ,left in 2018 and can’t wait to come back 😂😂. Do you live there or you just travel to BR to shoot videos ?
I just go there to shoot videos dear
An a Nigerian but I have been in cotonou over 20 years most of what she said are not correct you can buy data from your phone water system works perfectly just like the light you need to do a good research before coming to make video
Ok
Hi, please my name is Joshua Oluwapileogosayemi Tunji-Olugbodi but i have watched episodes like this from America and i think you should be strict like them.
Don’t understand your point
We dont have any problem about water
Please, relocate to the East African countries of Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania, which are more developed than the Benin Republic, with cold weather, 24-hour electricity, high-speed internet, good nightlife, safety for solo travelers, and affordable.
That’s for next time
Y'all should build your country...Why are you running away.?? Who should build it... coming to prey on whatever little we have yet you claim to be the richest country in Africa is just some Clown 🤡 ISH......Stay in Nigeria!!
*You will not find keke in haie vive that is the expensive part of cotonou.
*You have to negociate the bike fare, they priced it higher cause you dont speak french it might have been just 500 or lower.
*There are so many Nigerian restaurants in cotonou you can try next time you are here.
*Mobile Data is cheaper here is not three month subscriptions in just a month like in Nigeria 1 month is 1 month here.
Oh yea?. Even when I left Haie vieve to other places, I still didn’t see it. Remember I stayed there for a week and I was going around everyday so i could have seen it if it was there.
You can Find Keke around Marché Dantonkpa, Keke is not that popular here but we still have some you just have to know where to look.
Your last point.
Normal Data here is way more expensive than in Nigeria only the unlimited data is better
If you subscribe everyday It’s expensive
9:13 I confirm you can by bundles using your own device, from your Mobile money(MoMo) account or your main airtime account. All kind of bundles (voice, data, digital, combo plan), whatever the Telco operator you are connected with. A part from this, you can by articles or services using your own device (MoMo account) .. In super market, shops restaurants, transportations, etc....
Talking about foods, it definitely depends on the restaurants and place you have visited. There is a lot to discover, hope you'll visit us again 😊
About money and inflation, "we do not have a central bank", we do not control the currency we're using.. Long story 🤐🤐🤐... So there is no monetary policy with regards to our economy.... Unfortunately 😕
Oh well😏😂
That is not true. Benin has a central bank and this central bank has a monetary policy. The only thing is that the central bank is shared with other countries.
And the currency in Cotonou is pegged to the euro
please come to Kenya you will enjoy it and will never regret it, Nairobi Kenya is cold and has 24 hours electricity, come to East Africa my sister, it is safe for Solo travelers like you,
I will
@@nonyerichy please try

Lol
Nonye i spend eight years in Cotonou but they are many places you didn't visit.
I am sure Cotonou is big and I couldn’t have gotten everywhere
I think you visited a wrong hotel
Bcs of the water issue, there is water in Cotonou compares to Nigeria , I’m a benenois who spend over 21 year in Nigeria . There is water in Benin Republic but will bills maybe that hotel don’t want to paid bills
😂. Oh yea?. But it was a good hotel inside Haie vieve so it was a good place
Cotonou is very safe at Night. Nigeria who born you 😃😃
🤣🤣🤣
I like your videos, I find that you said information that you have them but that you could do better by verifying the authenticity of this information because some of your assertions are false. So don't necessarily try to compare Cotonou to Lagos or anything else... you can try to qualify each city for its potential. .. what I really appreciate in Benin is the quality of life. There is really peace and good living in Benin. Never unnecessary tensions or wars. And it must be recognized that the Beninese government is making efforts to make more attractive the country in order to attract investors and tourists. Almost all state services, whether applications or payments are made online on the government website. Same for Results of all examinations and competitions in the country. The minimum wage in Benin is 80k and the rent is between 15k and 100k depending on the luxury and the area sought. Frequently spoken languages are French, English, Fon, Yoruba, Hausa and many other languages spoken in the sub-region in Togo, Nigeria, Niger and Ghana, To come to Benin there are no visas necessary, Benin has abolished visas for more than 80 countries. There is therefore a free movement of goods and people 24 hours a day without fear and even The night. Education is of good quality and have found many foreign students in Benin for the quality of their teaching. Thank you very much for your contribution to discover Benin. You are lovely 😊

Uhmm. You really don’t need no visa. Its a visa free country. Just have your passport and you’re good
It's visa free, but check the limits of months you can stay for free. After your free months expires or before it expire you should contact your landlord to direct you.
