DO NOT BUY THIS. I own one and it worked so great for 6 brews. Then the producers of the product just up and left their customers. The product requires that you connect to their servers for it to work. Well their website is down and no one is responding. Buyer beware on this. Maybe someone will take over the product

Two things need to happen for me to ever be interested. First and foremost, price needs to drop significantly, reduced by three-quarters. Second, the temperature readings needs to interface a controller so that the output readings are used for fermentation temperature control.

Just get an EasyDens from Anton-Paar! It's not cheap but wow that thing is freaking accurate and easy to use

Are you guys still selling the Beer Bug? They are suffering from technical problems that renders the Beer Bug useless, and even worse they are providing no useful information as to whether or not they'll be able to fix it.

measures the temperature of the co2 coming out of solution? I'm sorry, but you couldn't even give this to me.

I miss Chip, Dawson, and Jake.
I mean, you guys are cool and all, but your shows just don't have the same feel. It's like you don't realize that you've turned the best brewing show on the web into a sales pitch.
If you actually brewed on the show, showed the actual process and tasting, and made it fun AND informative, you'd get more viewers and thereby increase your sales that way.
Maybe have some fun guests on (your brew day video with Wil Wheaton was great!), run some brewing experiments (maybe get Brulosopher on?), and just geek out on beer instead of just trying to sell us stuff?

wish i would have seen this! i wrote nearly the same thing just to mad to see another commercial on Btv that had no brewing. they need to keep that on the norther brewer channel.

Well, those guys were NB employees and this channel was funded and planned by NB. Chip has his own channel called Chop and Brew if you want to see Chip again. Dawson and Jake are nowhere to be found though, which is unfortunate. There is no longer a high production quality brewing channel (not that I know of anyway).

+gravitygear basic brewing is good and joe at trepsicoriankid okay probably not close to getting his channel name right but he owns BIY home brew supply out of Iowa i think cant remember.
mike and jake both work for a larg brewing supply company the were recently on brad smiths podcast. mike has a blog @ beer engine blog and jake was doing art things on his website 10 acare carcas.

@nasser Jooda I'm guessing just a cheap little load cell or force sensor. monitoring the tension on the cable. Problems with this device is it wont comp for carbonation (any bubbles or debris building up on that float are going to throw off that reading by a large margin)

we want Chip, Dawson, and Jake BACK!!!! This BTV stinks!!!

  • @OVshyguy
    @OVshyguy 8 років тому +6

first this is horrible! there is no need to have 2 people, one asking questions and the other answering.
second, brew something and tell us how the device works while brewing.
third, while the batch is being fermented capture small clips on film showing how the batch is going using the device.
fourth, you (northern brewer) shoukd keep this content on the northern brewer UA-cam channel if its not a brewing video. yes its yours to do with but its brewing tv brew something or visit a brewery and talk with them about how they brew.
fifth, please treat us Btv fans with dignity and respect. we understand that chip, mike and jake are no longer there and they are hard to replace. but try to get that mojo back. if you want to see what most of us fans of BrewingTv wish to see here on BTv then watch the Wil Wheaton episodes 2 times. i so thought BTv was back doing brewing videos.

And this is what they post after 6 months. I'll bet if they hired anyone that knows brewing, they like to brew, film that and put it up. Not complicated.

Okay seriously, just echoing what everyone else said... Stop calling this Brewing TV. BTV was a very specific thing and it died when Dawson, Walton, and Keeler left.
And for goodness sake, turn up poor Bjorn's mic.

BrewingTV is just a sales UA-cam channel NOW. SAD

  • @weens24

Do not buy this. Please just do a little research and realize it's garbage in so many different ways. Buy a Tilt Hydrometer and be happy. And yes, the new BTV is garbage too.
