I saw the date on this and thought about my dog that was so special to me. Then this intro by Philip. It broke me down. The solo reminded me of the crying and agony I went through for months. A year and a half later and I still think about Bandit everyday.
I discovered this guy like two days ago, for real. I found him by accident on a Pedal Pawn show, then on Michael Palmisano youtube channel doing a segment analysis on Philip Sayce. What an incredible guitarists that puts himself all out in his playing. All emotion and attack. You do have to go back to guitarists like Philip to have this much emotion. Thank God for UA-cam!
My brother Jim passed away on November 30th 2021, from Covid. He's not just my brother best friend. We played and wrote music together too. He plays bass and I play guitar and sing. He loved Philip Sayce, as I do too, and the last video he shared on Facebook was "Can't get you out of my mind", live at Toronto radio perfformance, here on UA-cam. I cry every time i hear this song. I miss him so much every single day. Thanks so much for uploading this.
Absolutely crushing guitar work by Philip, but also a huge shout out to the drummer & bassist for holding down the bottom end! Definitely giving of the Layton/Shannon vibe
@@BluesRockAcademy Wrong you are. Philip is an amazing guitarist as was Gary Moore. Both of them are very 'note perfect' in their playing and they both play with amazing feel and emotion. Gary Moore and Rory Gallagher are my favorite of all time and Philip ticks a lot of the same boxes.
@@BluesRockAcademy I can name 50 solos that are as good or better than any of the 3 you mentioned. However, you've lost the plot. Gary and Rory are my favorite players of all time. Gary's playing on his Hendrix tribute was phenomenal! Rory's playing in any of his live concerts is amazing! Philip's playing has a lot of the same qualities and carries a lot of soul. At the end of the day, it's all art and art is and always will be subjective. If you open your mind you'll see that there is more than 1 guitar player that can move you. Don't put yourself into a box.
@1andreasdance. Thank you for posting and your comments in reply to those saying he isn't JB, Robin Trower, SRV...... he's Philip Sayca. All are cream of the crop musicians and worthy inspirational players. This guy, irrelevant if he's your new favorite or not, has his influences but his own unique style.
Phlip I love this song more than you know! This version is THE best you have ever performed!!!!! You reached volumes on this one my man! You really hit the solid note On this song!! In my opinion, this is one of your best songs ever. I totally relate to this and where you are coming from. I LOVE THIS SONG AND THIS VERSION!!!!
Philip Sayce just blows my mind. The emotion from that solo never mind the song. Amazing. For me he sounds and plays just like Hendrix. Probably SRV to. But more like Hendrix. Thank you. 👏🏻🎸
Man. Trust me. I would fuckin sell me left nut to see that collab. They both have insane chops and feel. Can only imagine once they start trading licks and jamming. Phewww

@@brosphbehemoth6141 Indeed. I've said this elsewhere but I would love to hear Sayce and JB go at it. I'm not sure I'd ever want to pick up the guitar again afterwards but that would be a guitar duel for the ages.
@@brosphbehemoth6141 They're both steeped in the blues/blues-rock canon so I'm sure they could find some common ground. Although after about five minutes I doubt anyone would be caring too much about the song! 😁
Looks a bit darker and richer than most of the Fenders I've seen that are supposed to be that colour. I think the nearest modern Fender colour is 'Miami Blue'. Someone else referred to it as 'Aqua Blue'. I would guess that only the guys at SVL know for certain what it is. And maybe Mr. Sayce.
I just learned about this cat about ten minutes ago. He’s got himself another fan. 😮
Check out “Alchemy” from him as well

That begining of the solo ..... watchin in repeat !
Killer performance ! and excellent camera work by Natasha.

Love this man's playing....
Like Srv and Gary Moore rolled into 1.

This guy has nothing compared to Gary Moore.

No doubt whatsoever that SRV was a massive influence on Philip. His style right down to the Kimono screams SRV.

Walter Trout's drummer, Michael Leasure...
Is that Strat color Daphne Blue?

epic video!
Glad you like it

At 4min mark Phil goes into grief mode
You don’t need to know the music theory you can hear/feel it
The next Robin Trower ???
He's a cross between Clapton and Vaughan but has that monster Hendrix sound...😮😅 I'm moved!!👏✨🔥
He is a beast! Check also my videos from a recent show, I think that version of Once is even more brutal than this one!
Not sure about Clapton, but I dig that you dig it!
Robin Trower + Jimi =..........
Terry Kath 2.0
mr. sausages
He's not Joe bonamassa. And he's not Robin trower.
And he's definitely not Stevie Ray Vaughan
You're right he isn't any of those people. He is Philip Sayce. One of the best guitarists out there today
