Omnibus F4 Pro. This video is fantastic. I tried PWM5 and PWM6 but noting happened. Came across this video and followed its content. My LED control pin ended up being CS (part of the 6pin connector above the positive power supply from the battery). Perfect!!

This is just one of the most useful videos I've seen on building multirotors ever! Now I have a better understanding of how to debug a PCB!

Man you are a genius! I already gave up the idea to get the LED strip running on this board - until I found this! Thank you!!!

Good day to you Project Blue Falcon, I'm Reff !
Firstly, I would like to write that this was one of the awesome videos i've seen, very informative and you've actually taught me something new after watching it today, I never knew that this could be done, such as touching the cpu to the pins of the FC, I would never think of that, thank you very much !
Secondly, I have a question which I'm hoping that you might be able to help, and its regarding the SPI 1 pins on a Mamba F405 mk2 flight controller. I cant find which pins on Mamba F405 mk2 has the SPI 1. I've used your method of checking continuity as shown in this video, however none of the pins beep on the multimeter for any SPI pins. A
ny idea on how to trace, as I've tried two mulitimeters bet still cant find which pin is associated with SPI 1

Unfortunately Project Blue Falcon died on a motorcycle crash a few years ago, he won't answer. Even some time after this accident this channel is still relevant.

FYI guys, my F4 PRO LED was mapped to "A1" aka PA1 which is assigned to PWM5 hole. it works!

I've made a lil bit of a mess by using a solder tip that was to big therefore overheating components around my work area. so I have an led that's gone and a few diodes. Now my board won't connect to the configurator. It keeps failing saying "USB device descriptor failed" any help as to point me in the right direction? it's happened on two of my boards so far a Arris F3 Evo and a SP racing F3 mini. Thanks in advance. Great channel by the way!!!

Great vid JC. I've got an OBF3 were the video stopped working after a crash. Video works fine if you bridge the signal wires together, just not through the FC board. I've already replaced the board with a new one. I'm thinking about doing a "reflow" with the old FC, like on StingersSwarm site. Any thoughts before I toss it in the oven????

    • @ProjectBlueFalcon
      @ProjectBlueFalcon 7 років тому +1

I'd say first, did you upgrade the firmware to 3.1 and are using the 1.8.5 configurator? Because I was having problems with video before. Also try flip flopping the camera and Vtx signal wires going into the board because they have been flip flopping the pin outs on the boards. If you've tried both then I'd say go ahead and try a reflow in the oven.

Thanks JC, this board is on 3.0.1. I'll update and flip the pins. OK, I love the OBF3 and OBF4 FCs (I have 5 of them), but it feels like playing wak-a-mole sometimes with the pinouts. Remember PWM3 and PWM4 being reversed... Thanks again, have a great week...

Lol yea I remember that. Which I was upset about then switched 3 and 4. Then they fixed it in the firmware and I was upset I had to change them back haha. Let me know if you still cant get it working or if the oven trick works.

Hey BlueFalcon. Can you find which pins are responsible for USB connection on betaflight f4 pro? From what I found they are either PB14 PB15 or PA11 PA12. Reason is, my USB is broken off and it seems that MSP has been turned off and i cannot get it to connect through uart (got no STLink) :(

Great Video. Could you do a similar video for DShot Flight controllers that require their motor outputs to be remapped to the PPM pin? According to DShot wiki, some flight controllers work with Dshot but require a motor output to be remapped to the PPM.
Specifically, I have the PikoBLX and according to the wiki, I have to remap motor 1 output to the PPM. This video and reading the wiki kind of helps but... Still a bit confused. I tested my FC on Dshot and my motor 1 does not spin and does require remapping. :(
There are a few flight controllers on that wiki that require this and I'm sure a video explaining what to do will help hundreds, if not thousands from having to buy another flight controller. Thanks JC!

I've been planning on doing some of those videos. Problem is the only ones on that list that I own are the SPRacing Evo and SPRacing Mini. And I can get either to work. I've tried everything. Not sure if there is a bug in the firmware or if I'm just doing it wrong. Still trying because I hate when I cant figure something out.

I have a good device for you. Take this grab and take it into the bin. Then buy a SP Racing F3 board and get happy. I use them and have nothing of these problems. Because the question is do you wanna fly or repair all the time?
