Yan Xiaonan has really flown under the radar compared to the other Strawweight's. If she wins her next fight she's guaranteed to be next in line for a title shot.

My opinion is that rose defeats Yan. Yan though strong has sloppy striking and not a lot of head movement, her head stays on the center line. Someone such as Rose who has pretty much the best foot and lateral movement in UFC, has a really good jab and a good straight, will take advantage of the fact that that Yan's head is so stationary. Rose will use her movement and jab to beat her

Most female fighters particularly in the SW division get decision wins because they can't generate enough power. Yan Xiaonan does have power but not as much as Weili Zhang, she is slightly more skillful though.
Another yan? Guess she’s destined to be a champ someday aswell. Perhaps 2022 will be the beginning of a yan/jan era, where half the champs are named yan/jan 😄

Surprisingly interested to see her fight this Saturday.
Quick point out, her fights can be described as throw a high kick they use in the highlight reel, then just throw 1-2s the rest of the fight until a decision. In all her fights, they have all been a decision, so don't go in expecting a knockout performance here.

Yan Xiaonan is in the top 6 in the women's strawweight division, and men's welterweight Li Jingliang, just KOed -310 favorite Santiago Ponzinibbio this past January.
Men's bantamweight Song Yadong, is still a solid contender.

Yan has volumes but Zhang has power. Both don't afraid to bang & will be a problem to anyone. A good matchup though for Dern, Carla, Marina, Joanna & Rose. All of them are great fighters. Adding to those are Ribas, Waterson, Angela & Claudia. No easy going up the ladder through those top 10 ranks. Hopefully Andrade & Tatiana go down so we will have the deepest woman division ever. Just forget about other woman divisions 😅

She doesn't get hit back because her opponents are covering up. But that kind of strategy can fail against someone who doesn't flinch, and who has good movement, and particularly if they have a reach advantage. That sort of opponent can back pedal quickly, let those big swings miss, leaving her head wide open, and just tag her over and over and move away.
And of course, given how she always attacks by rushing in, a good kicker could get that timing and she might end up running head first into a front kick up the middle.
Somebody with strong Muay Thai kicks will KO her instantly by her rushing in !

she's an entertaining fighter but she's too reckless in her striking. the top dogs of the division are some of the best strikers in the world. they'll pick her apart with her lack of head movement.
