How often do people drive more than the daily range in a single day per year? And how many people might instead be looking for a 7 seat electric vehicle with tonnes of interior room to meet their basic family needs? Maybe ask people who this vehicle targets what they think instead of making assumptions.
Wow, that’s a pricey vehicle, but it has a lot of potential. I like the interior like the trim level very versatile thank you Eric looking forward to your next video.
VW nailed the look of this and seems very practical for most driving. It charges fast so that’s good and helps with the disappointing range. I hope it is around long enough to have the price come down to something more affordable. I’m glad VW gave it decent horsepower.
@@Molishious Prices will come down. What did early laptops cost compared to today? Or smartphones, or HD television sets? Scaling up will bring prices down.
Thanks for the review. I learned to drive in a Combi so this brings back memories… Wish VW was in a better position to survive, but I think it’s risky to buy a VW. The multiple ID4 troubles don’t instill confidence either.
I personally don't believe that VW will fold. It's still a profitable company, who like so many other legacy automakers is having some challenges adjusting and streamlining their operations. I've driven the ID.4 a few times and some of the most annoying parts of the ID.4 don't show up in the ID.Buzz. But certainly give it some time to see how things evolve. Perhaps one day you'll feel more comfortable looking at one. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
I’ve seen this in person, they’re all over Marin Ca. No meaningful range, high price tag, average interior…. At best, It’s an expensive second car, no way you could commute and run errands in this thing. I hope VW has something else planned to save the company…
Probably doesn’t handle everyone’s commute but I sure hope it handles most people’s commute. I would hate to think that most people have a 200 mile commute each day.
It's pricey as its offered in Canada at the moment, agreed. But keep in mind we only have the 1st Edition on offer which is essentially the top end trim. The base model Pro S is not available in Canada yet, but when it is, there will be a lower price available.
The initial offering is for the top-level first edition trim only. Lower, base-model trims will eventually be available in Canada, as they already are in the U.S.
Have you heard of Canoo. The most configurable EV VAn (or Car) ever made. This ID Buzz is over- Engineered, Lacks ground clearance as a Transporter. VW should go back to bred/butter. This ID BUzz will be a big seller as a Six/seat (3+3), double carb. for family. $30000US for base model. This is the to be the best selling car in the world. But this car company is currently run by Idiots. The only golden goose they 've got, the Transporter (which actually can double as an SUV because of Ground Clearance), is now a ford transporter also hogging the ground. totally lost the plot. This company needs a reality check.
I am aware of Canoo, and I also know that they are in financial trouble unfortunately. The ID.Buzz has a short wheelbase version in Europe that may be brought over. But why does it need more ground clearance?
You're the first person I've spoken to or received a comment from that has said it's too big. I'm guessing your from Europe where the standard wheelbase is available instead of this long wheelbase?

@@Plasi-t9m the ID.Buzz seats 7, which is absolutely necessary for some families. And it seats 7 comfortably, which can't be said for all 3-row offerings. So in this case, the size is necessary even though it's not that large comparatively speaking.
It's nothing like the original other than the cheeky looks. Once people start finding out the abysmal range, they will have buyer's remorse.

I love my pomelo yellow Buzz!
So cool 😎

Would have been way more popular if they made a camper variant.
It's still early...

Unless you're living in the deep wilderness, this is easily a commuting, errand-running vehicle.

Close but way too pricey...
