    Bryan, Your video was the answer to my prayers. I also looked all over UA-cam land and viewed many other "supposed solutions" to no avail until watching your method. I'm here to tell you, that dad blame screw wasn't gonna come off with just a screwdriver cause it was screwed on too tight at installation. But after watching this video and knowing you had success with the channel locks, i decided I'd give it a try and it worked!!! I can't thank you enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You are brilliant!! Here’s the thing though, mine still wouldn’t unscrew to the point metal shavings were coming off - I finally got a towel, put it on top, and turned the pliers over it and then it finally effortlessly unscrewed - it’s incredible just how badly they engineered these things…

    Now take the rest of it off so you can fix the leak around the drain. Our water leaked around the drain and down into our kitchen ceiling also... and yes we now have a hole in our ceiling too. The plumber told us that we would have to remove the entire bathtub to remove just the old drain. I don’t believe him.... can’t we just remove only the drain with a “barbell” type Tub Drain Wrench, replace it with a new drain, SEAL it down, so our bathtub will hold water again? Did you end up removing the entire drain??

    • @BryanLWeier
      @BryanLWeier  3 роки тому

      Yes, we had a leak as well, once I got what I showed done, I removed the rest of the drain then cleaned the drain hole and applied new putty around the hole and put in the new drain....and so far (knock, knock, knock) after waiting 24 hours so all had plenty of time to set, we used the tub and have yet for it to leak 🙂...and yes that barbell tool is what we used as well, no tub removal etc...

    Thanks for posting. Are you able to get the seal back on or is there a way to replace it?

    • @BryanLWeier
      @BryanLWeier  3 роки тому

      Yes, I used silicone sealant rolled it up into a long tube, placed it around the rim of the drain opening and put the drain back in
