I really like GSITG….it has so much going on. 7th Doctor era is so rewatchable and the only dud for me is Time & the Rani. Cartmell an excellent script editor and was taking the show in a very interesting direction
The director definitely nixed "the wink" for good reasons. A shame Ghost Light's studio work was wiped, uniquely of the era, with only VHS timecoded cuts remaining. The glint from smiling Helen A in the viscast is right out of NuWho too, but at least that felt more in tune with the story. And yet they removed the "quarter past five" meta thing.
I really like this boxset! It’s the very first time I’ve seen season 25, and I LOVE IT! It’s probably one of my favorite classic who seasons and Remembrance is the best classic who Dalek story I’ve seen (I haven’t seen every classic story) and Happiness Patrol is also really good and the special edition has good CGI, but it doesn’t 100% work for me. I love that they’re going for the planet feeling more like a city, but I think that the difference in resolution and video quality between the CGI and the actual footage that were recorded back in the day doesn’t quite convince me that it’s one big city. The dictator’s HQ (forgot her name) looks good and convincing, though!
I always thought that The Happiness Patrol was edited very choppy. It should have been a four parter. I’ll have to check this out. I never collected the BluRay sets but I may with McCoy being my favorite Doctor.
@@lanceyarema4013 there is almost a whole new episodes worth of material on the special edition of happiness patrol. Most of the McCoy era was edited down because episode tended to overrun.
Prowl1701. Do you have any idea how long I've been listening to you introduce yourself and wonder what the heck you were saying? I sometimes thought you were saying "Problem 1701" ROFL
The tone of 25 and 26 nicely lead in s1 of new Who with its similar feel/ tone.

I wish we'd get a US release date for this already. I'm dying for it.
Spare a thought for us UK standard edition folk, it takes even longer! Season 2 is out in a couple of weeks, it's been a long 2 years waiting 😖
Also, it's not released here in Australia until 18 December. Big sad. :(
@@CamMcGinn1981 will be there in just a another month! I have to import my UK version. I’m in the states.

The price was fucking ridiculous
@@ACey96 the standard edition will be cheaper when it eventually comes out, but yeah the price in these has increased, worth it for me though.
