My great grandmother was born and raised in Jamaica, she came to the US when she was 22, settled in Georgia where she met my great grandfather who had recently immigrated to the US from Haiti. It's on my bucket list to visit both places, (Jamaica & Haiti) at least once before I die.

You got place as a visitor you would want a tour guide, a lot of these visitors come and get mix up with people they don’t know, you can’t know me for one or two days and trust me 💯, they meet people over the internet fly to Jamaica 🇯🇲 which sometimes they are scammers.. when you visit best places to visit are Portland, ochi, Montego Bay and Negril. Over lots of visitors want to visit the capital Kingston which you can travel with a guide. Al my friends and people I talked to love it because they follow the guide line.. one of my cousin fr Canada 🇨🇦 didn’t visit Jamaica because things she heard about the island, 🏝️ fr she visited 2003 for the first time, every year 2 and 3 times she and her friend visit. Ye mon as I said just follow the guide line nothing to worry about. Bless
The best coffee I have ever tasted was Jamaican blue mountain. I was the roaster for a coffee company called Kiva Han. One of the roasters. I got to roast 100% pure Jamaican blue mountain coffee to my specific taste. And i would even roast green Beans at home on my stove. Your house never smelled so good.

Am I the only one that got the impression that if you're a tourist, then Jamaica is one giant money pit? Ffs, $77 for a trip on a raft then another $25 into a park. Maybe we're spoilt in my country but everything is free to visit. If you want to use amenities which are privately owned and run, then you pay.

I've no doubt Jamaica is a beautiful country with friendly people but after seeing this video, the only reason I'd go to visit would be to smoke cheap weed and I don't smoke. In my country we used to get a lot of American tourism. Bar, hotel and restaurant owners thought it would be a good idea to rob them blind with their prices just because tourists are seen as cash cows. The tourists went home and told their families and friends how expensive their holiday was and they stopped coming. A lot of the greedy hotel, bars and restaurants owners who caused the problem in the first place either closed down or increased their prices as there were less tourists to rip off.

I tried to book it through Google flights but when I got to the end it said I had to call or go online. Don't bother calling Delta won't answer. Sometimes the deals last days and Ive seen flights go in less than an hour. I went to China 2 years ago for $315 round trip so the $40 subscription to Scott's Cheap Flights is well worth it.

I've done the rafting three times - it's so peaceful and the guides are so nice. It's nice to get away from the beach and hotel and get a view of another side of the country. Some of the guides will sing folk songs or reggae, or they tell you about the history of the country. Some tell jokes or tell you about their families. I think the guide we had was named Daniel. He also carved bowls from gourds and sold them. I purchased one from him.

When I go to Jamaica I stay at Sandals on 7 Mile Beach. The way tourists help Jamaican people is to walk the beach, buy from vendors all along the way. I have a good memory of what I bought from who. The day before leaving, I go back to them and tell them I don't have packing room, so here it is - sell it again. Also, leave big tips for locals selling chicken, fish and Red Stripes. Have a great day and get your tail to Jamaica if you haven't been there before.

I'd simply make one or buy a 2nd hand boat from somebody from there( good enough to keep me floating ) and after I'd charge people $50 to hang in my boat where I have ice on bottles of beer and fat joints pre rolled 🤣 and after finishing the tour I'd sell the boat to somebody for the same price that "I paid" for it or even more 😎✌
When you use American dollars to pay everything is cheap around the world. For $100 you can spend the night in a 5 star hotel in India with and epic view
I've only been to Ocho Rios & Negril. From my experience Negril was more family themed and Ocho Rios was the more single. I had a great time at both you can't go wrong with either or.

Considering the average salary in Jamaica is $22,000 USD, $77 is pretty steep. But like Hawaii jamaica relies on tourism a lot.
