Kait0s! Don't get your hopes up man, it's not going to happen. I mean it's EA we are talking about here. They will not give players ability to make maps and such, because then they cant sell their "SUPER DUPER ULTRA CARBON FIBER DLC MAP" packs 10$ each.
Yep i see, i never bought a DLC for an EA Game... well.. that's why I don't really care for DLCs, i just care about pushing this game to the limits. I saw early gameplay shots.. and i can say it looks promising
If you guys were real Mirror's Edge fans and would listen to what these people in the video are trying to say, you would have a better understanding of the overall point of this trailer. So I'll start with this: No, the game will not focus on combat. They've said, and I quote "We are also building combat WITH the move set in mind." This means that the game will have Faith Navigate buildings and terrain WITH combat. As you can see from 1:21 - 1:28 Faith uses the environment to pick off targets and eliminate threats at extreme speeds. Secondly, Anita Sarkeensian isn't going to ruin the game because she has no control over it. What I'm saying is that this women isn't developing or altering the game in any way. Look it up. Thirdly, this game will remain at it's origin, as they've stated, the parkour will be built off of the first Mirror's Edge. A final thing I would like to say is that this game is perfect in the eyes of a true fan (me) and it's done everything I wanted it to do. Every word DICE spoke has made sense to me. I know this game will be great because they understand the true fans. If you can't handle to wait a year for E3 2015 without saying this game will be bad without evidence, you are not a fan of Mirror's Edge and you do not understand what DICE is trying to say. The ignorance of these comments are extreme and it really saddens me that you call yourselves gamers.
dude u have my respect, its like these kids listen and read 5 things at a time and then try to sound enlightened about all of them in 1 comment. and to all these wussies who can't imagine a badass without a pistol, basically (maybe even literally) are saying half of the movement and speed of mirrors edge is unnecessary, needed, and irrelevant.
I loved the original mirrors edge, in my opinion it was one of the greatest games to be released for the last generation of consoles and this looks like it will completely live up to the original
Yeah, but at the same time she looks too thin to be believable as someone who can take on and beat lots of armoured cops. She should have had more muscle mass.
FreekinEkin2 She looked more bulky in the concept art than she does here. Maybe they might change her a bit before the game's release. Having her be attractive is all well and good, but she should look some way physically capable as well.
I think they did an astounding job on art style and design, even with Faith having a slightly meager build. Her build really is just supposed to imply she's lightweight and swift, which would make sense, but if Faith we're slightly different the game would still imply the same idea. But the art style in this game, especially Faith, will catch anyone's eye, no matter what kind of art you like.
D33VIL That says that you like uPlay maybe ? No, I'm fan of Steam, and I really like all features Steam offers. I want this game on Steam. I'll buy it there. And defenetly not on Origin.
Good luck with that. steam is EA's direct competitor. Why would they let them take 15% of their profits? Thank you for demonstrating the "no steam, no buy!" mentality. This is why we can't have good things.
***** Eigther that was proof showing that they were dealing mostly with the crapy FB3 engine or development is super slow. Yeah let them take their time, with breaks in between lasting weeks.
+BestAtNothing They mentioned something about "you'll be pleased with the music" on FB or to that effect... because people were wanting Solar Fields and Still Alive kind of music XD
MarkTheAmazing I don't think that Modding will be much of a thing for ME:C, mostly due to the fact that it is built on Frostbite 3, which generally is used for making massive multiplayer games, so it has a lot of security against modification due to the nature of what the engine is used for. That being said about the engine I am a little frustrated at the fact that it seems like they passed on giving the game a real Multiplayer/Coop mode which feels really half assed all things considered, but who knows someone may crack it and mod it, but I doubt we will see any direct mod capabilities.
Keith Martin well yes, a map editor is one thing, but without a dev created map editor, creating a custom map for a game is the same thing as modding essentially.
The music is timeless. They did a good job with this and the game. This game was the reason I had to get either a xbox one or ps4. I remember watching this at E3 on G4 right after school
I hate it when people do games like that... It's thief all over again... CONGRATULATIONS FOR PLAYING THE GAME YOUR WAY! I hope they wont put parkour on like one button for handicapated childs to play. If you do at least change it in the difficulty settings. All they want is more people to buy the game...
Mirror's Edge 1 was so much fun to play. The graphics in this looks so much better than they did in the original! I look forward to what else they have in this sequel.
DreAndreas Where was the Kick glitch in any of the trailers because I never saw it, and personally I hope they ditch it, I like fucking mirrors edge up as much as the next guy but I hope they do away with the glitch stuff....even the jump boost, which is like second nature to me when I play.
I'm hoping they make the combat a slightly smaller portion of the game this time. I'm glad it was there, but don't overdo it! ^_^ Anyway, the first one was one of my all-time favorite games, reeeaaally close to the top. So my hopes are high. P.S.: Suggestion... user-submitted levels like with the Trials games. Would be a great way to add an aspect of unlimited play.
the combat should always be optional in my opinion so the people who actually liked the combat can still enjoy it and the people who don't can just keep running.
I loved the first game so much, and i have "faith" that the second one will be even better, although i thought it could have less fighting in the first, i was really surprised with the fighting mechanics in this video it seems so cool, so i have high hopes and can´t wait to play the game, keep up the awesome work :)
Tj Blank ah true, i always liked when i had to keep running and think fast looking for the route! those parts were really exciting like nothing else ^^
Lemur Shattered Actually, it's a prequel and then a reboot. It will be Faith's origin story that will lead into the first game. So it will be a prequel and a reboot of the first game in one game.
1. She's not too thin, she has the build of a track runner mixed with a gymnast, very lean, toned muscle, without any extraneous bulk. She just needs enough muscle to lift her weight efficiently, which she easily has. 2. No, she isn't a Kung Fu master, but she is a very talented fighter. In the prequel comics, Faith and all the other runners go to a martial arts trainer named Leaf who teaches them how to fight and use the environment to his/her advantages. She's just doing what she's been taught. If you saw the comics, she did a front flip over an armed guard, tore off his helmet, and smashed it into another's face as she came down in one fluid motion. This is hardly any less believable than that. 3. I like the broad moveset, but I hope they add a lot more contextual animation and broaden her abilities. She is supposedly the best traceuse in the city, if she wants to jump off a railing with her left foot to transition into a tic tac with her right, she should be able to. Overall, I like the progress the game is making, they look like they're trying to expand on the platforming elements of the first game whilst trying to maintain what made it so great in the first place. Remember that this is just a conceptual prototype or "grey-box level", where the developers are just trying to nail the gameplay mechanics before adding in all the extra fluff and glitter that comes in the final package. I'd estimate at the time of this video being made, they're roughly 20% done with the game, so it may be another year or two before we see the finished product. I'm more than prepared to wait for that, it'll give them time to perfect the game and optimize it to the best of their abilities on PS4/X1. Remember, a 1st Person open world platformer is a tall order to fill, let's give DICE the time and benefit of the doubt that they won't mess this up and will do everything right.
***** Are you new to videogames? EA is the publisher, it's putting all the money and directions, so if EA wants DLC, there will be DLC, there is no question about that. The first Mirror's Edge had a DLC.
I hope it heavily focuses on gunplay and less just running around. There needs to be way more enemies, the first one had far too many empty places. You should start with at least a pistol too. Trollface.jpg
Everything I don't want it to be! I guess they have enemies to motivate you to move quickly, but getting shot at constantly was purely annoying, and any time I was forced to fight felt like a chore. Fighting needs to be toned down even more for the 2nd one I hope
Daniel Jacob I was about to drop a hate bomb on your comment… There were only 3 places in the game were it was really impossible to run away and you had to fight other than the 2 "bosses". They seem to want to make fighting more a part of the parkour itself which is good.
BboyCustomz I'm glad they are making it more a part of the movement. I had to fight at several places in the first one and I hated when I needed to stop and start, interrupted the flow of the game.
MrDeathSmiles Now, tell me. What have you accomplished by sending such a nasty comment over the internet. The internet would be a better place if it were not for comments like that. At least the other two that sent a reply back were nice.
I'm just grateful to finally see a video game franchise that does parkour right. Parkour artists are proud of their skill, and so many people think it's just people showing off.....
I fell in love with Mirror's Edge almost 6 years ago when it first came out and I have been dying, ever since, for a game that was similar! The theme song that's played in this trailer still gives me goosebumps!
A woman who hates video games, a genre made for men by men with a 99% male demographic whining about how it portrays women. Mass effect doesn't need any help being a liberal piece of shit. Look what happened to it. Now the same for Mirrors Edge? WHY!?
Jesse Gullick What are you talking about? "a genre made for men by men with a 99% male demographic" - you pulled that stat out of your arse. Unless you'd like to give us a reference...? You are a perfect example of a.) why a truly conservative mindset is incompatible with the values of art and artistic progress, and b.) why conservatives and right wingers are so under-represented in the arts in general. If you had any say in F.P.S. development we'd still be playing a slightly prettier version of Doom. There'd be no movement along the Y axis, no scripting, no real narrative and the very idea of making a game as original and risky as the original Mirror's Edge would be laughed out of the room by any publisher that heard it, and that's assuming a conservative-minded developer would even come up with the idea for Mirror's Edge, which it wouldn't. I'm very glad that people like you are just too unimaginative to actually make games yourselves, and that the majority of good developers don't settle for a static view of the artform, where nothing ever changes and the opinions of mouthbreathers like yourself matter. You're like a dog lagging behind on its lead as your owner tries to move forward.
I hope they don't focus on using guns, Mirrors Edge 1 was perfect, but the combat needed some more action. I'm really excited for this game and I hope it comes out soon because I can't wait.
The only thing i didn't enjoy about the combat system on ME is that the NPC's knew exactly where you were and where you were going before you did. I thought it a few times but didn't believe it til i was playing ME and was doing the last mission (the shard) and i was standing under the rifle men with a LMG and i was in crouch mode, and i was looking up and saw how if i go somewhere he automatically turns in the direction that i was going. With that said i only seen it because his shadow would move where ever i would go to... hate how the NPC's know where i am going before i even do. but hey, ME2 is going to be GREAT
Dear DICE/EA. I understand that you likely spent a lot of time on it but please fix the rolling animation in ME2. In parkour, the game's core feature, you preform a roll diagonally over your shoulder to your opposite hip. The first game's roll looked much better and more realistic. It would save the game if you did. If you agree please like or repeat this comment.
Tanya Voss I think the roll looks fine. Remember they got actual Parkour artists to help a lot with the parkour, so I think they would of said if it looks right or not
+Tanya Voss The roll they have in this trailer is more realistic. Straight forward to back rolls hurt a lot, while shoulder rolls are faster and allow you to keep momentum.
They are aware of the roll. They purposely did this because when they tried to make the roll more realistic in the first game, it was too disorientating.
Toots o' Poots You don't want it to end up like the first game. say what you want, but even though the game was amazing, it could have been so much more.
Look I don't even care if it's crap. I'm gonna play the hell out of it because Mirror's Edge means a lot to me. They can't fuck it up all the way if it's a first person, open world parkour adventure.
The dystopia, the colors, the story... It's so lovely and creative. This joy I experience from watching this trailer can almost be compared to the immense joy I had from playing games as a child.
60 dollars for a 6 hour campaign! but don't worry guys, day 1 DLC that includes another map, only for 25 dollars! While the original Mirrors Edge was fun, I just can't justify supporting EA after all the crap they have been doing.
With all the different concept art at 1:42 of Faith, I wonder if she will be customizable... Also, is it just me, or is the speed of Faith's running way faster in this game? O_o
EA decides :/ and the game only got 1-2 million copies compared to their other videogames that got them 10-11 mil. They'll probably just not bother making a 3.
@@CutePuppy351 EA said Catalyst met their expectations on sale numbers even they were around 1.7-2 million copies. As the first one sold 2.5 million copies and there was little to nothing put on advertising ME Catalyst. So there might be a new one in the future. At some point DICE will run out of ideas with their games and they probably do a new Mirror's Edge game :D
John Culp I think not. The original ME had a script thought for only one game, no precuels, no secuels. And a very bad one, I've to say. They've choosed the smartest option.
Mirror's Edge was probably the best game ever. It was a totally new, innovative and dare I say revolutionary game concept that worked really well. It was extremely well designed and polished. You could get beautiful visuals on relatively low-end hardware. Hope they stay faithful (pun intended?) to the new game.
Please don't hate me for saying this. I'm just a dude. But I can't be the only one for thinking it looks WAY too close to the first game? Right? I mean....it almost feels the the first one. I'm not sure how to feel about that?
It's just the law of diminishing return. I've been telling people that the jump to next-gen won't be that big, just small differences here and there. It's not like the developers are lazy or anything, this is DICE we're talking about, it's just that the jump isn't big and that fact that Mirror's Edge art style is basic colors with white backgrounds makes it even less noticeable
1:28 song called (Puzzle) remember hearing it on the last level (the shard) of mirror's edge. If it dont come, thats okay, lots of other good games (2015=epic)
Is this a re-make of the old "Mirror's Edge" or is it a squel? Why are the buildings still looking like boxes while the character models look bloody awesome (albeit lacking skin textures in the face)?
It's a prequel/reboot. Takes place before the first game and won't necessarily line up with the first game. Kinda like the latest Tomb Raider game. The art for the game hasn't been finalized yet, and unless I'm mistaken, environments are finished after character models. Especially in a game like this, where the environment is so carefully designed.
I am liking what I see so far, even as a conceptual prototype. The moves, how they work with freerunning and that they seem to be more about disabling the cops rather than beating them to a pulp. It was also nice to see some of the other concepts for Faith's new design, and the one they seem to have picked (which looks pretty cool in my opinion). Might not be much shown to us but it's something in the end of the day :)
The combat looks *pretty* good, but i'd like to see it a little more, devastating? Suddenly violent? Like when she countered with and arm blow maybe every once in a while, or if you time it right, you can hear a fracture or snap, and a man scream like a girl lol. Oh and i want TONS of 'the making of' and 'behind the scenes' videos. as a gamer, it's like crack. Even the knitty gritty details and the mocap and vocal booth performances, (i know i'm asking for a lot at this point) ._.
Hold your butts, people. Because Faith is coming to E3!!! And quick question: Can Catalyst be or be not a suitable name for Mirror's edge? I'm just asking. It would've been better if it was just Mirror's edge 2 or Origins. What do you guys think?
Bryce Morgan Catalyst can literally be defined as "a thing which precipitates an event". Mirror's Edge: Catalyst comes before the first supposedly, so the title fits.
Bryce Morgan Origins sounds boring. It´s not a sequel in the same universe so 2 is impossible. Cataclyst sounds good, more so if you know what it means
Thank you Dice for not giving up on Mirror's Edge. Faith deserves a second chance, because despite some flaws in the 2008 version it was a wonderful game and deserves alot more than it got!
ANITA SARKEESIAN IS NOT, I repeat, NOT working on Mirror's Edge! It has been confirmed by EA themselves on the popular petition!!! Too bad not a lot of people know this yet from what I can see. SPREAD DA WORD. sorry for the caps
Cassie Yang Doesn't mean they won't listen to her because she's around... it's a legit warning sign to see her there, whether or not she's technically a part of the development team or not. You can say anything to try to assuage the worries of your fanbase after the fact, but it's no guarantee her ideas won't negatively affect the game somehow. Inspiration can be drawn from anywhere... good or bad.
Superduperhog If the trailer was not pre rendered, they would of used the engine that was showcased in the trailer. Now unless you have anything else you need clarified, I will be on my way.
I'll wait and see what the levels look like and how much it's changed in a year or so because so far this looks a bit disappointing. Seems exactly the same as the first game with like two new animations and whilst I enjoyed that I expected much bigger changes after 6 years.
Combat redesigned to be in line with motion rather than stopping your momentum in the first game, and no gunplay shown. Those are some really significant improvements. And the fact that this is open world.
If they ever did make multiplayer for this game, I think it might be a nice addition to have a mode where you are carrying a bag, and you and your partner have to meet up at a specific location to do a hand-off, and eventually deliver the bag to an NPC. Hopefully they'll focus mainly on the single-player, but if they ever felt the need to add multiplayer game-modes I think this would be fitting. After all, that's what runners do in the first place.
Nicky Ringo They've already announced that it's a reboot. Also, you can't change this much of the series and still call it a prequel. It's not going to connect. It's a reboot that encompasses Faith's origin story; just the way it should have been.
The best thing in the game to me is the colour theme. I am so so happy that they keep the white, bright background with distinctive red, colour objects in the game!!
Faith? *check*
Redesigned combat? *check*
DICE *check*
Reboot? *forgiven*

The music is timeless. They did a good job with this and the game. This game was the reason I had to get either a xbox one or ps4. I remember watching this at E3 on G4 right after school
the animations in a pre alpha is better than in the main game
much more relaxed and varied

"It's important to us that everyone who wants to play the game can play the game" as long as they give us money
Because receiving money for making a game = bad
mindfish21 i didnt say that,
mindfish21 when did money become the motivation to create.
OddSeries it was allways this way
Mirror's Edge 1 was so much fun to play. The graphics in this looks so much better than they did in the original! I look forward to what else they have in this sequel.
I love pretty much all the sound effects. Rolling, footsteps, combat, jumping, gunshots, the sliding. Just everything sounds so nice!
Weeeee....!!
Gerwin Sturm wow - that looks incredible!
Mirror's Edge 2?
Yup :)
Shyam Salim Kumar
It's a remake
Nope
Prey for the kick glitch. Please keep the kick glitch.
I hope so ... Side jump also much apreciated :D
MADAR4BR! kick glitch and skip animation glitch
HellishMess Considering it was in the E3 trailer it's gonna stay
DreAndreas Where was the Kick glitch in any of the trailers because I never saw it, and personally I hope they ditch it, I like fucking mirrors edge up as much as the next guy but I hope they do away with the glitch stuff....even the jump boost, which is like second nature to me when I play.
yea but dude be honest its a second hand game were gonna find some speed glitch in it...:)
Well is it open world or not?
fuck that
***** Neither EA nor DICE ever confirmed that rumor
ovendonkey186
Yes, they have!
4400seriesFAN Where?
ovendonkey186 Well, they would be dumb if they wouldnt. Do you still speedrun on the first one?
I love watching people explaine video games makes me even more excited to play it
This game looks amazing, and the first one still does after six year. Thanks for these beautiful works of art Dice.
I just love the thought of playing as that block figure.
I'm hoping they make the combat a slightly smaller portion of the game this time. I'm glad it was there, but don't overdo it! ^_^
Anyway, the first one was one of my all-time favorite games, reeeaaally close to the top.
Also, more chases, like they did in the first mirrors edge, where there is accually people that can keep up with you and you have to jeep running.
Tj Blank ah true, i always liked when i had to keep running and think fast looking for the route! those parts were really exciting like nothing else ^^
I loved the kombat and the amount of it
I'm pretty sure this will be named: Mirror's Edge Origins , it's supposed to be a prequel.
Actually it's been confirmed it will be called Mirror's Edge: Faith.
Repulsion Gel Where? They didn't said anything after E3 right?
This is reboot. Not a prequel damn,Dice said it one year ago.
She didn't have the tattoo on her right hand before, though you still say its a prequel...kay bruh.
Lemur Shattered Actually, it's a prequel and then a reboot. It will be Faith's origin story that will lead into the first game. So it will be a prequel and a reboot of the first game in one game.
who cant wait of this awesome masterpiece ?
Even that office they working in looks like the building in Mirror's Edge 1!
You know, The reactor core in the final chapter
Hopefully without DLC's
It's EA, you know that's not going to happend.
Hahaha! I see you are new to EA games :D
Mushe FOR FUCK SAKE, why do everyone think it's EA making Mirror's Edge?! It's Dice! DICE!!
***** DICE is wholly owned by EA.
Trollface.jpg
i thought your were serious for a sec there xD (i really hope your not :P)
Everything I don't want it to be!
I guess they have enemies to motivate you to move quickly, but getting shot at constantly was purely annoying, and any time I was forced to fight felt like a chore.
Fighting needs to be toned down even more for the 2nd one I hope
i almost fell for that bait
Daniel Jacob I was about to drop a hate bomb on your comment…
There were only 3 places in the game were it was really impossible to run away and you had to fight other than the 2 "bosses". They seem to want to make fighting more a part of the parkour itself which is good.
BboyCustomz I'm glad they are making it more a part of the movement. I had to fight at several places in the first one and I hated when I needed to stop and start, interrupted the flow of the game.
Now.
Tell me about the multiplayer.
you jump and fall and try to troll the others
this is definitely more of a single player game dude..
MrDeathSmiles
Now, tell me.
What have you accomplished by sending such a nasty comment over the internet.
The internet would be a better place if it were not for comments like that.
At least the other two that sent a reply back were nice.

Why?
I'm just grateful to finally see a video game franchise that does parkour right. Parkour artists are proud of their skill, and so many people think it's just people showing off.....
I fell in love with Mirror's Edge almost 6 years ago when it first came out and I have been dying, ever since, for a game that was similar! The theme song that's played in this trailer still gives me goosebumps!
Bye bye Mirrors Edge. EA hired Anita Sarkeesian to "help" in development of ME.
A woman who hates video games, a genre made for men by men with a 99% male demographic whining about how it portrays women. Mass effect doesn't need any help being a liberal piece of shit. Look what happened to it. Now the same for Mirrors Edge? WHY!?
Jesse Gullick Because of democracy, human rights and shit! Oh Garry Oldman, you were so right! We are all fucking hypocrites.
Fuckin' A.
So wrong it hurts...
I hope they don't focus on using guns, Mirrors Edge 1 was perfect, but the combat needed some more action. I'm really excited for this game and I hope it comes out soon because I can't wait.
They said they don't want Mirror's Edge to be a shooter game.
RizePresents
well, it's not a shooter game in the first place.
With that said i only seen it because his shadow would move where ever i would go to... hate how the NPC's know where i am going before i even do. but hey, ME2 is going to be GREAT
lel FPS game with shooter elements.
The music...the music is what I need right now...
the music and the wind while running gives this game a nice atmosphere
i hope you can at least use a pistol in this game! wall running with slo-mo while shooting a pistol in the first game was badass
Not a shooting game CiDdo..
no
lol pussies.
VictorL141 no
I heard there are no guns for faith to use
The game Im looking forward to the most. But I dont wanna wait till the end of 2016 to play it. Hurry upppppppppp
Be patient. If they hurry they will fuck the game up, just like UBISOFT did with AC: Unity.
One of the main reason i enjoy Mirror's Edge is the peaceful soundtrack.
Fuck yes shard
WHERE?!!?!?
New House Production Studios How the hell did u missed it 1:28
ilostmyhair Ohhhhh so you mean the music, not the building? Right. I getcha.
New House Production Studios I was referring to the soundtrack haha
60 dollars for a 6 hour campaign! but don't worry guys, day 1 DLC that includes another map, only for 25 dollars!
While the original Mirrors Edge was fun, I just can't justify supporting EA after all the crap they have been doing.
With all the different concept art at 1:42 of Faith, I wonder if she will be customizable...
Also, is it just me, or is the speed of Faith's running way faster in this game? O_o
They are making her much quicker and faster at parkour and combat.
But I hope your right on the concept art.
THIS.
I'm so excited about ME2. I am still addicted to the first chapter and still playing it....
Sure one of the most anticipated for who you really are true fan of the GAME. HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
SONG IN THE END: Peter Bic Project - Hey Now (NightParis Remix)
you're talking about the piano melody? it sounds the same though..
i want a new mirrors edge :((((((((((((((( please dice
EA decides :/ and the game only got 1-2 million copies compared to their other videogames that got them 10-11 mil. They'll probably just not bother making a 3.
@@CutePuppy351 EA said Catalyst met their expectations on sale numbers even they were around 1.7-2 million copies. As the first one sold 2.5 million copies and there was little to nothing put on advertising ME Catalyst. So there might be a new one in the future. At some point DICE will run out of ideas with their games and they probably do a new Mirror's Edge game :D
I think that the title should be: Mirror's Edge 2: E3 2014
The game is called Mirror's Edge, not Mirror's Edge 2.
Repulsion Gel but the first part is called mirro's edge. i think that they should add some clarification after the title
Repulsion Gel A reboot with the same title as the first one immediately after the first one? that's just stupid.
John Culp I think not. The original ME had a script thought for only one game, no precuels, no secuels. And a very bad one, I've to say.
They've choosed the smartest option.
Choosed?
Can't wait, I LOVED the first game, it really nailed that feeling of kinetic energy. This series has so much potential to be great.
this is gonna be a movie one day
We were wrong. Oh, how WRONG we were! D:
Still a good game tho. ;)
Hopefully PS4's are cheaper by the time this comes out, because i'm a broke ass BITCH
Sony is developing a new version of Ps4, so it will be cheaper
PC?
Haha you and me both dude. Just get a second hand one, there is not much difference but they are a little bit cheaper
Get it on the One
MirrorsEdge Fan A new version? Are they going to strip it down a bit or something?
WHY DIDN'T THEY USE THIS FUCKING ROLL
Because it's disorienting for the player eyes.
Mirror's Edge was probably the best game ever. It was a totally new, innovative and dare I say revolutionary game concept that worked really well. It was extremely well designed and polished. You could get beautiful visuals on relatively low-end hardware. Hope they stay faithful (pun intended?) to the new game.
nice pun, anyway I sort of wonder why she's named Faith in the first place
I played so much of the first game and it was amazing, I can barley belief you made the game better. You guys and girls keep doing your thing!!!
Please don't hate me for saying this. I'm just a dude.
But I can't be the only one for thinking it looks WAY too close to the first game? Right?
I mean....it almost feels the the first one. I'm not sure how to feel about that?
It's just a prototype. Everything will be changed in this video. They didn't put rendered textures in it.
I think thats good :)
Looks the same, probably gonna be worst than bf4 was
***** I heard it was a prequel+reboot.
So cleannnn
didnt expect to see you here
please tell me this is current platform only 'PC/PS4/X1' and NOT cross gen 'ps3/360'
also will it have mod support....oh wait this is EA, i forgot
Then again they did redo origin, then again this is EA
This makes me oh so happy. Mirror's Edge was such a amazing experience. The bar is set really high and I hope hope hope they pull it off.
Yes this indeed reboot of the first Mirror's Edge. Btw, it says its a conceptual prototype. Everything will be changed or improved in this video.
art is usually nailed down last because they need to design the levels first. once the level layout is fun then you can go in and put all the art in.
Game isn't coming out for another 2 years.
So I am absolutely sure that will be fixed
It said conceptual prototype
It's a prequel/reboot. Takes place before the first game and won't necessarily line up with the first game. Kinda like the latest Tomb Raider game. The art for the game hasn't been finalized yet, and unless I'm mistaken, environments are finished after character models. Especially in a game like this, where the environment is so carefully designed.
I want them to add the old animation for rolling and add more view bobble
Me too. Even if it could be a mod or something.
Oculous rift on this shit now
+Michaelc136 *dies from a heart attack*-
I've been sooo stoked for this ever since I played the first.
I'd like to see a few neck snaps. The original bad a few, but I'd like to see more with better animations.
DemonKnight94 now I know. Thanks
Bryan Herron now I know. Thanks
FAITHHH! I LOVE YOU MY LOVE!
Thank you Dice for not giving up on Mirror's Edge. Faith deserves a second chance, because despite some flaws in the 2008 version it was a wonderful game and deserves alot more than it got!
Mirror's edge was one of those special games, I loved it.
me3 when
Yes, when
#bringbackmirrorsedge pls..
Make a petition
Don't worry guys, on the site Sara Jansson said 'You'll be hearing from me soon'
Man even while it's still in it's alpha development/prototype phase, it still looks fucking amazing. Mind will be blown when they pretty it up
>More combat
Not sure if I want this
>No guns
You should think about that.
It's not about more combat, it's about quicker, less halting combat.
It's your choice. Running away or kill them all.
pussy
dude it's up to u, running and makeing awesome parkour or fighting them with those stylish cinematic moves.OR EVEN BOTH!
Yael Hola. Still Alive. 👋❤👍😁😀😃😄😍😉☺😊😢🎤
Looks nothing like the trailer. Graphics look like mirror's edge 1. I think they fucked up. Still will be good with the oculus.
You know this isn't the finished product, right? You know that it said in the video itself that this was just a conceptual prototype, right?
TheToastedTurkey
You know the trailer was pre rendered, right? You know that EA is in charge of this game, right? You know what that means, right?
Newb "You know the trailer was pre rendered, right?"
[citation needed]
Superduperhog
If the trailer was not pre rendered, they would of used the engine that was showcased in the trailer. Now unless you have anything else you need clarified, I will be on my way.
It's stil a prototype can't you read?
Mirror's Edge is an art, and the concept art is of the highest tier.
If this came out this summer, I don't think I'd ever leave my room.
Just look at the amount of detail we're putting into this character model.
In a first person game.
This is just a prototype. It purpous is to give the audience a primitive, unpolished view of what the final product will actually look like
Key word prototype fool
Right now, what I'm seeing is improved combat and the removal of gunplay. Can't really notice anything else because this is only a testing bed.
If the high speed combat is not significant change I don't know what is.
Спасибо вам за игру...
Еще б допилить мир и сюжет пошел бы.... Если б ЕА не торопили DICE...
That music is awesome, I hope that a soundtrack will be available like it was for the 1st game.
Just casually committing suicide at the end of this video for the sake of a cool outro haha
Why are they rebooting this game when it's only 6 years old?
It's a prequel, not a reboot.
mento6 It is a reboot. The first one's story wasn't that strong. I like the idea of a reboot.
David Wallace It is not a reboot it's a prequel man
Nicky Ringo They've already announced that it's a reboot. Also, you can't change this much of the series and still call it a prequel. It's not going to connect. It's a reboot that encompasses Faith's origin story; just the way it should have been.
David Wallace Ah this makes sense, i never knew they announced it as a reboot
Awesome, hopefully they got better level designers (not level artist - they had that covered) - the last game got dull... quick.
Those art guys are perfect for the role with that voice.
The best thing in the game to me is the colour theme. I am so so happy that they keep the white, bright background with distinctive red, colour objects in the game!!
