We are so lucky to have Serum and sample packs and things that make it easy these days. This man was doing it with FM8 and Massive back when there was no instruction online or resources for doing this. And the music itself is classic and enduring. It's really incredible. Once in a generation talent.

This is where my journey with electronic music really started to take off. Or to be more precise, with "Scary monsters and nice sprites". I found Skrillex when I was 21, back in 2011. I'm 31 now, in 2021. Wow. When I first heard these songs, I was flabbergasted. Before this, I'd only heard videogame/ chiptune music and thought it was cool that computers could make such sounds, but this was a whole new category. With time, the love for Skrillex faded as I discovered psytrance and techno and went to raves. I discovered new genres of electronic music and dubstep was nothing but a fading memory, it was too loud and annoying. Now when I'm re-discovering Skrillex, I gain a new respect for him. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have heard all the wonderful, electronic music that I love today. And I have to say, I really appreciate the drums in this track. I got goosebumps all over.
Ahhh, I remember hearing this live in February 2012 (Bristol, UK). Seeing such a diverse crowd around me of all ages, all doing the air piano before the drop. Everyone holding each other and headbanging. Some tiles fell off the ceiling at one point because of how intense the bass was. My best friend and I had rave lights on our fingers and Sonny noticed us. I can't believe it's been over eight years since that night, it went by in a flash but Ill never forget it. Still got my ticket and tour shirt kept safe. He knew how to ignite a room with just a mix table on stage. Such a great artist.
He made music in 2011 people are still trying to replicate and failing in 2017. He surely was ahead of his time, no matter what you think of the music.

Sonny Moore used his sample of his song "Equinox" and reversed, high pitched, chopped, and screwed his voice, added the big white whale that said "Call 9-1-1 now" scream and some sick ass dubstep bass drops. You gotta appreciate the craft he put into this, definitely proud to have had homies that got me into him back in high school. Years later, he's a big impact in the music industry from his old band From First to Last to Ollie Sykes of Bring Me The Horizon to making dubstep tracks and dope ass trap beats for songs like Wild for the Night, Humble, Purple Lamborghini, and Sicko Mode. If you haven't noticed, I'm talking about him making a big impact in hip hop either remixing or collaborating with artists like Kendrick, A$AP Rocky, Travis, and Rick Ross as well as He on Ego Death. Oh! And made a track with Bob Marley's son Damien Marley

Ahhh, I remember hearing this live in February 2012 (Bristol, UK). Seeing such a diverse crowd around me of all ages, all doing the air piano before the drop. Everyone holding each other and headbanging. Some tiles fell off the ceiling at one point because of how intense the bass was. My best friend and I had rave lights on our fingers and Sonny noticed us. I can't believe it's been over eight years since that night, it went by in a flash but Ill never forget it. Still got my ticket and tour shirt kept safe. He knew how to ignite a room with just a mix table on stage. Such a great artist.

What happened to skrillex is the most confusing thing to me. From one of the most influencial producer out there into a ghost producer sellout.
