I don't know if you got the 'Eeshwar Bhagwan' joke. Prabhu Deva is a South Indian director who has made movies with Salman, and both those names 'Prabhu' and 'Deva' are synonyms for god in Hindi, and so are 'Eeshwar' and 'Bhagwan', hope you get the pun now.

May be the Indians he’s encountered in his life were mostly from South India, so he has this impression that this particular accent is the only Indian accent. But in reality, that is one of the numerous Indian accents out there. Try to read carefully before pouncing on others in a social platform, and if possible try to learn some manners. Diya Bhattacharya It's specifically the Tamil accent and many educated Tamils don't even speak this way. Not sure why their accent is generalized as South Indian. The accent varies from region to region even in the South. Even then, I don't think there's anything funny about it or is to be mocked at.
This Pakistani guy just has a stereotypical mindset about Indians just like North Indians do about South Indians. No difference.

But I resorted to generalization (read South Indian) only to make things easier for people like Praveen Tiwary to understand who start calling names to people when they don’t understand simple analogies (like in my first comment, I was trying to make the reactor understand that this accent should not be stereotyped as the only or primary Indian accent. It’s just one of the many Indian accents, and Mr. Tiwary assumed that I don’t know that Tamils are Indians and called me dumb). And I don’t think Farrukh is driven by stereotypes. As mentioned earlier, may be he’s just encountered too many Indian people hailing from the south of India, and thus have started equating South Indian accent with the universal Indian accent. I think we should give him some benefit of doubt as like you mentioned, there are so many North Indians who cannot even make out the difference between different South Indian accents. And this guy is from a different country after all.
