One of the realest videos. Can you do a video on how to believe in your ability to study especially if you have not had positive experiences in the past? Also is it bad if you like to study with someone initially and not completely on your own? I find where there is information I am not the most interested in it helps if he person I am working with is passionate about the subject as it kind of tricks me into liking it 😅 Also how can you improve on being a better self learner as I know I am someone who genuinely does learn well from a teaching style but I would like to shift this so I know I can rely on myself.
1) It is completely okay if you like to study with other people. In fact, it is actually really beneficial, given that you're focused and don't get distracted. I would advise you to continue studying with that person, as it will help you stay more productive and will hold you accountable! 2) To be a better self-learner requires independence, curiosity and questioning. You need to be independent by going out of your way and figuring out what you need to actually learn - for example, look at the syllabus or subject matter and see what is required of you to learn. Then, while learning by yourself, it is important to be curious. Always ask the question of 'why'. For example, let's say you read the textbook and it says that X leads to Y. Ask yourself 'why'? Why does X lead to Y? By asking yourself this simple question, you'll be able to delve deeper into any topic that you're learning and gain a deeper understanding. Finally, to improve as a self-learner, ask questions! You can't do everything by yourself. Whenever you are learning something in your own time and you come across a topic or concept that you don't understand, write it down, and ask your teacher. Don't be afraid of asking for help. Although you are 'self-learning', you are still asking a bunch of questions from other people. For example, in my case, when I'd learn something online or through a textbook, whenever I didn't understand something I'd write it down and go to my teacher/tutor. I'd sit with my teacher/tutor and ask them to clear up all my troubles and misunderstanding. There is so much more, but can't really cover it in this comment. I will definitely make a video on this! Hope this helps though.
amazing videos man! im in year 11, starting to turn my academic life into a full time thing, and giving it 100% purely because one of your videos popped up on my reccommended. Question: how would you personally go about revising for a SAC, and how much time should you allocate to the revision of one SAC specifically? Cheers! 🥳
Thank you so much for your support! It means so much to me to see that other students are benefiting from my content. In terms of revising for a SAC, I would do so in 3 phases: Phase 1: Identify: Identify all the topics that are going to be in your exam and list them all out. Then, categorise these topics into 'Know', 'Don't know' and 'Uncomfortable with'. Phase 2: Revision Revise content starting from the weakest topics Phase 3: Practice Do a BUNCH of practice questions and past paper exams and learn from them. Regarding how long you would revise for a SAC, this is really hard to answer as it depends on the SAC itself and the person. However, I'd suggest you to start as early as possible! I will definitely make a video on this soon, hope this comment helps in the meantime!
@@LuqmanArab I appreciate the reply man! This comment absolutely does help. Have you considered making a discord for your viewers and students undergoing VCE? It would be a great way to connect with you on a more consistent, reliable, and in depth basis if you would be interested. I'd also be more than happy to assist you in setting it up if that's something you'd be keen on? cheers :)
@@merricau YES! I've definitely considered making a discord community with all my viewers :) This was actually an upcoming project of mine. @@LuqmanArab Hi , im not sure if you know how our grading system work here in England but I really need some quality advice. My gcses are this year but im really struggling. The problem is that I am homeschooled and because of private reasons i didn't start learning my gcse content till july 2023 (yep 2023) normally in England students have 2-3 years so i have very little time. Its hard to revise 9 subjects i really want to get good grades. The grades im getting now are bio:7 chem:7 physics:6 RE:7 Foreign language: 6 History:6 English language:6 English lit : 5 maths:5 . Its just so hard to juggle revision everyday i only have breaks to eat and to pray and then i have a break in the evening before bed which is only for 30 mins . Any tips especially for maths I not sure if you know our maths specification 😊
@@Maryemarabee Yes, I am somewhat aware of your grading system in England. The situation you're in is difficult, but it's possible! That's the first step: belief. You have to genuinely believe and tell yourself that it is possible. Regarding time management, I'd advise you to plan out your week extensively. Every single day, write down roughly what subjects you want to work on, and limit those subjects to only 2-4. Also, be sure to maximise your weekends, as they will give you the opportunity to spend more time on your work. Prioritisation is also key for successful time management. Not all subjects are equal - some you're good at, others you're weaker at. Identify these subjects, and spend more time towards your weaker ones, as opposed to your stronger ones. For maths especially, I'd recommend you 1st look through your maths syllabus or whatever you call it in England, and see what topics you do and don't know. For all the topics that you do know - like with time management - spend less time on them. For all the topics you're uncomfortable with and don't know, spend more time on. Practice is very important for maths too. Math is a skill, and that's why you need to practice it regularly. I'd suggest you do maths practice 5-6 days a week, as this will help you consolidate your knowledge. Finally, when it comes to learning, use UA-cam and teachers. Don't be shy. If you don't understand something, go up to your teacher and ask them for help. Similarly, use youtube to teach you the topics that you're stuck on - I do this till this day hahah. There is so much to cover. Will definitely make a video on this. Hope this comment helps in the meantime though.
