really nice demo work.
In Spring Valley New York, all small houses are being demolished building multiple dwellings.
It was indeed a nice house.... progress and modern times brought it down.
By the time this guy gets done taking down this house he will be applying for his senior retirement !
I didn't know this was a HOUSE, until i read the inscription. This was a large house. wonder what happened?
So sad to see a beautiful big home torn down, looks like it had beautiful oak floors in it.
Yes, and the floors were in good condition. I had helped my father refinish them several years earlier.
@@JohnZWetmore Got ya. I have seen other people make mention of the “McMansion Epidemic,” but I had not seen you mention this. It is so disappointing to see this.
That is a big house. How much does it cost to have a house that size torn down?
This is more entertaining if you click on the little gear and set the speed to 2; on cool new YT feature that works well. Thanks for posting.
Tear down an older house that was solidly construction, something with character, and replace it with a McMansion constructed out of cheaper and flimsier materials and sold at a higher price.
Clearly you've never been in an old house. Nothing is ever level or square. I'm sure the foundation on that old house had seen its better days not to mention the house in general. Modern building techniques have come a long ways since 1954.. so think what you want but at the end of the day any house these built by a good contractor will last a very long time.
I watched one of these things work its way through a row of lovely 1950's houses a few streets from where I live, and now its a block of horrible bland flats.
nice video of that :) and that sure goes by faster with the machine. ..lol that's for sure :)
After watching demo on buildings, this is record speed!
Bet that copper roof material was worth a few bucks!
The CAT 320D appears in decent shape and with the large bucket and thumb, it does get the job completed. I wish we could see some loading of the debris just to satisfy our curiosity watching another CAT perhaps scoop up the mess into waiting dump-trucks.
Man, they salvaged nothing! Light fixture was still hanging in one bedroom and it looked like most of the doors had brass fixtures (door plates, kick plates). And was that a pink refrigerator? I couldn’t tell due to the dust.
The thumb lets you crunch and mangle better...
As well as grab all that expensive copper sheeting...
😀
Nice video, the CAT brand is my favorite machines nothing else comes close!!!
Oak strip flooring upper level quaility built unlike today
]
That's a big flipping house!!!
cemeterymaiden1 It was a nice house. It's being replace by one twice the size. The entire neighborhood is slowly being replaced by the largest houses the zoning will allow.
HE GETS PAID BY THE HOUR
skipper skipper I'd fire him. He's just piddling along. I'd have that house down in 10 minutes.
I agree this was very painful to watch. Never seen anyone so slow in my life.
I was thinking the same fucking thing. It's like this dumb ass is trying to piece it down a brick at a time. I don't think he even knows what that thumb is for. Or does he even know that machine has one?
thats cool
After he was done, he found out that they tore down the wrong house.
Well at least no firemen with clipboards hanging around.
Nice house torn down for ugly McMansion.
Why start demolishing at the top ... wouldn't starting at the bottom be quicker ...
Even had a slate roof! Shoulda just added on because of the better materials they had back then!
It was a well built house. Good quality slate roof that was still in excellent condition. Plaster over rock lath. Hardwood floors. But the couple who wanted to keep it and put on an addition couldn't bid as much as the guy who wanted to level it to put up his own 10,000 square foot monstrosity.
AMEN MY BROTHER, MATERIALS OF TODAY IS VERY CHEAT, IT'S RECYCLE GOODS.
I've been getting a lot of your videos lately and my question is who are the operators on the machine? Are the thumbs not functional or do these guys not know how to use them?Get some new operators that can use the machine. And yes, l do operate.
On many of them, the thumbs are fixed. A couple of my recent videos have had thumbs with pistons, and the operators do take advantage of them.
Parents bought the fine house many years ago, they pass away and the greedy millenial kids can't wait to tear it down and sell the parcel to a greedy developer.
House was sold to pay expenses when the widow went into a nursing home. The buyer hired a builder to tear it down and erect something four times as big.
definitly a dipsy doolittler
I like the sound of breaking glass in the morning! great video.
